Well organized and planned, our head guide Sofia was excellent as well as her assistant Francisca, changed schedule to accommodate predicted weather to make improve experience, vs other groups who were caught in more rain, wind or crowded conditions.
Travel Torres del Paine National Park your way
For those ready to really dig into some serious hiking, you can tackle either the W Circuit taking 4-5 days or step it up with the full O Circuit needing 7-9 days. The W hits all the main spots, while the O takes you into the quieter northern areas that most visitors never see. We provide proper camping gear and meals - something our past hikers really appreciate given how quickly the weather changes out here. The O Circuit takes you over John Garner Pass with views of the Southern Patagonia Ice Field; it's a challenging climb but our trekkers consistently say the effort pays off. Winter hiking needs extra gear but rewards you with snowy views and practically empty trails.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursThe 4-day Torres del Paine discovery tours give you a perfect mix of glacier sailing and hiking, all while staying at quality 4-star hotels in Puerto Natales. Our winter travelers often tell us they actually prefer the quieter trails, and one of our guides points out that "the wind is actually less intense than summer." The sailing trip to Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers lets you spot cormorants, sea lions and sometimes condors flying above the beech forests. You'll also explore the ancient Cueva del Milodón caves and trek up to Base Las Torres - our guides are great at adjusting the pace based on how experienced you are.

"Tour company (Hi Argentina) books all the accomodations, bus tickets, and ferry ticket for you. The W-Trek is popular and well marked, so it's perfectly fine (and probably even better) to do without a tour guide. Some of the information in the itinerary they provide needs to be updated. On the last day of the itinerary, it said conflicting things about where the meeting points were for the ferry and the bus back to Puerto Natales. You have to carry ALL of your stuff with you on days 3-4 of the itinerary, so keep a room in Puerto Natales with our stuff and only bring the essentials for this trip. Also most places accept card, but bring cash (Chilean pesos) for backup. There are NO ATMs in Los Torres

"The itinerary was not accurate. There was also no communication when changes were made regarding the itinerary. There was also late accommodation's arranged since there was nothing actually planned for the day. The only contact available then blamed the customer for their lack of preparedness.

"An incredible trip with OneSeed - I was debating between this and a G Adventures tour and so glad I chose them! I had only three people in my group and the guide was the loveliest man, and so kind. It was the best way to do the W Trek and took out all of the stress! Highly recommend to all thinking of booking with this company! They were so good in the run up too, and even helped me with other parts of my Patagonia itinery.

Best places to start your Torres del Paine National Park tour
Most people kick off their Torres del Paine trip from Puerto Natales, which works perfectly as a well-equipped base town. Punta Arenas is the next most common starting point and some folks choose to begin from El Calafate in Argentina. The numbers show you'll want to lock in your tour about 74 days ahead - that's roughly 2.5 months, especially important when peak season fills up fast with top guides and good rooms going quickly. For the multi-day hikes, count on 4-5 days for the W Circuit while the full O Circuit needs 7-9 days. Our regular travelers always stress good weather prep - Patagonian winds pack a punch and conditions shift quickly here. You've got options for sleeping from fancy lodges to basic refugios and also campsites, so there's something for every budget and comfort level.
Discover Torres del Paine National Park tours for every budget
Several self-guided W Trek options work really well for travelers watching their budget while keeping their independence. These 4-5 day trips come with camping gear, meals at refugios and detailed maps to help you navigate. Our customers like how everything's sorted - from Puerto Natales bus transfers to securing campsites along the way. You'll walk the W Circuit classics: Base Torres lookout, French Valley and also Grey Glacier, staying at simple but comfy camping spots. The feedback shows these tours hit the mark for solo travelers who want to do their own thing but don't want the hassle of planning. Many end up making friends with other hikers at the camps and refugios as they go.
The top-end tours really deliver with thoughtful touches and exclusive experiences. Multi-day programs mix Torres del Paine with other Patagonian gems like the Atacama Desert and Chilean wine regions. You'll rest up in high-end lodges with wide-open views of the Paine massif, enjoying local Patagonian dishes and quality Chilean wines. Several tours include private boat trips on Grey Lake and guided walks at your own speed. Our guests particularly value the naturalist guides who know their stuff about the park's rocks and wildlife. These trips often throw in special extras like visits to king penguin colonies in Tierra del Fuego or sailing through the Strait of Magellan.

Your guide adapts daily activities to match what you want and how fit you are. Some tours include nice touches like meals with local families in El Calafate or visits to traditional Patagonian ranches. These work really well for families or small groups looking for something more personal.
Top Torres del Paine National Park travel itineraries to fit your plans
A week in Patagonia lets you properly explore both Argentine and Chilean territories. Our main 7-day tour combines El Calafate's Perito Moreno Glacier with a deep dive into Torres del Paine. It starts with a local dinner in El Calafate before heading to the glacier, where you'll likely see huge ice blocks crash into the lake below. From there, you'll move to Puerto Natales and into Torres del Paine for daily hikes matched to your ability. We've got another great week-long option that's pure Torres del Paine hiking - you'll cover French Valley, trek up to Grey Glacier and also camp under Patagonian skies. Our guides are really good at reading the group's pace and sharing their knowledge about local plants and animals throughout the journey.

Demographics
The Torres del Paine O Circuit stretches for 80 miles and works really well for people traveling alone. You'll find well-organized camping spots and group meals that make it easy to meet other hikers along the way. Solo travelers tell us they particularly like our self-guided W Trek options - you get proper maps and sorted accommodation while keeping your freedom to move as you please. The refugios and campsites become natural social hubs where many of our customers have made lasting friendships. If you prefer more structure, our 4-day discovery tours include hotel stays in Puerto Natales, while photographers often pick our longer combo tours covering both Torres del Paine and also the Atacama Desert for varied light and landscapes.
The full O Circuit is especially popular with our younger travelers who are up for a proper challenge. These 8-9 day routes take you over the John Garner Pass and past glacier camps - you'll need good energy for this one. Many pick our self-guided W Trek which gives you independence plus practical support like camping gear and refugio meals. The camping areas have a great social vibe, and you can tackle extra side trails when you're feeling strong. We've got programs that mix full-day hikes with proper lodge stays, plus options for kayaking near Grey Glacier or joining early wildlife photo walks.
Our older travelers typically go for tours mixing quality hotels with flexible daily activities. The 4-day discovery programs based in Puerto Natales hotels work particularly well, letting you adjust hiking distances as needed. Along Cerro Castillo, you'll find plenty of viewpoint stops to take in the scenery at your own pace. Many pick our boat trips to Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers - great for spotting wildlife right from the deck. Our guides really know how to adjust the pace, something our senior travelers mention often in their feedback. Several routes include Milodon Cave visits and easy walks by Lake Grey, giving you excellent photo spots without tough terrain.

Best time to visit Torres del Paine National Park
- Spring 2025
Spring opens up some excellent self-guided options, particularly the W Trek packages that give you all the camping gear and detailed maps to explore independently. From October onwards, you'll catch the notro trees showing off their red blooms. There's a practical 8-day tour combining both Atacama Desert and Torres del Paine that works well with spring temperatures. The French Valley trails are particularly good this time of year - our guests regularly spot returning birds and fresh wildlife activity. Some clever itineraries start with stargazing in the Atacama before heading south, while others focus on Torres del Paine with some kayaking among spring icebergs on Grey Lake.

- Summer 2025
Summer's long daylight hours mean full O Circuit treks run consistently, taking hikers on 8-9 day journeys through both busy and quiet parts of the park. If camping isn't your thing, 5-day programs mix day hikes with lodge stays, hitting the main sights with proper beds each night. Quick 3-4 day tours pack in guided Base Torres hikes and glacier sailing trips. Many summer programs add visits to working Patagonian estancias, and you can even link up Torres del Paine with spots in Argentine Patagonia for a wider Patagonian experience.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Autumn brings fewer crowds and amazing colors as the lenga forests turn golden - it's actually when our photography-minded travelers get their best shots. The circuit tours keep running, and you've got better chances of spotting pumas in the quieter atmosphere. The 4-5 day programs mix hiking with glacier visits, letting you adjust plans around autumn weather. Some smart itineraries connect north to El Calafate, adding Perito Moreno Glacier to your Torres del Paine autumn experience. The full-circuit treks feel more remote this time of year, with plenty of quiet moments at viewpoints and on trails. Two solid choices stand out for Torres del Paine - Signature Tours and Patagonia Planet. Our travelers consistently tell us these companies really know what they're doing, especially when things don't go according to plan. They've handled everything from last-minute flight changes to medical situations smoothly and professionally. The guides make a big difference here. Laura, Mercedes and also Peter get lots of specific mentions for really knowing the park's trails, wildlife and local history. They're genuinely helpful and make sure everyone's comfortable with the pace. Just so you have the full picture - while most feedback is positive, a few travelers felt the 4-Day Discovery tour from Signature Tours was a bit expensive for what you get. There were also some communication challenges with guide Andre, whose English skills made it tough for some guests to follow along. Both companies are reliable choices, but I'd suggest looking at their longer tours rather than the 4-day option for better value. The guides' expertise and the companies' solid organization make a real difference when you're exploring somewhere as remote as Torres del Paine.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter visits to Torres del Paine come with their own special charm - you'll often find yourself alone at viewpoints that are typically busy in peak season. The multi-day programs mix guided hikes with comfortable stays in Puerto Natales hotels, and our travelers tell us the winter winds are actually gentler than summer gusts. For those up for a real cold-weather expedition, the full circuit treks include winter camping with proper gear and guides who know exactly how to handle Patagonian winter conditions. If you prefer staying warm, some tours base you in cozy heated lodges where you can watch the snow-draped peaks through panoramic windows, while photography-focused trips help capture the winter wildlife and snow-covered landscapes.
