What people love about Eastern USA Tours
- Niagara Falls, Washington DC, Philadelphia & Amish Country 4D/3N (from New York)
Both the guides we had, (Irene & Bryan) were excellent!! They were full of information and interesting facts! The tour was just the right amount of days to see all the sights. We weren’t rushed at all. The hotels were decent enough. We had a great time!
- Rhythms of the South (11 Days)
Good trip! Great venue! Lots to do. Well looked after. Disappointed in Nashville quality inn. Staff not helpful and hotel very tired and could be cleaned better
- Mackinac Island featuring Niagara Falls
This trip was fantastic. We loved visiting Mackinac Island and everything in between.
Travel Eastern USA your way
The White Mountains of New Hampshire deliver some solid hiking options along the Appalachian range. Our guided treks combine Presidential Peaks hiking with comfortable stays at mountain huts and the Appalachian Highland Center - you get the wilderness experience without roughing it too much. Down in Georgia, history trails weave through Savannah's old quarters and Charleston's architectural highlights with easier walking routes. The Mount Washington multi-day trek stands out, with professional guides who really know their way around the changing weather patterns and best route choices. Our travelers often mention how much they learn from guides about local plants, rock formations and trail backgrounds. For something different, our Smoky Mountains programs mix up kayaking on Fontana Lake with hikes to spots like the historic Shuckstack fire tower right on the Appalachian Trail.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursCoach tours handle the Northeast's major sites smoothly while keeping things interesting. Starting in New York, you'll see the Empire State Building, cross the Brooklyn Bridge and head up to Niagara Falls - where you get views from both the US and Canadian sides. These comfortable bus routes include essential stops at Philadelphia's Liberty Bell, Independence Hall and Washington DC's monuments. Our travelers like how the days mix up - you might watch the falls light up at sunrise, browse outlet stores after lunch and spend your evening in DC's museums.
See all Coach / Bus toursThe American South comes alive through explorer tours that dig deep into its musical soul. At Nashville's Studio B, you can actually record where Elvis and Roy Orbison made their magic - our travelers often say this hands-on experience is a highlight. The tours take you right into Sun Studios in Memphis, and you'll get private performances from Johnny Cash's own family members. It's not just about the big sites though; you might find yourself in a local Savannah honey shop before joining the night's ghost walk, or talking plantation history with families who've lived there for generations. What works well is how the schedule lets you mix guided activities with free time to explore Charleston's old quarter or catch some live music in Nashville's honky-tonks.

Looking at the tour company feedback, Trafalgar comes out strong for music-focused experiences - their guide Austin Coop gets a lot of positive mentions from our travelers for really knowing his stuff. Bamba Experience seems to be hit or miss; while guide Bruno earns good marks, some customers note they had trouble with inconsistent operator presence during their trips. Intrepid's doing good work with their Southern routes, particularly in how they handle the historical aspects and keep things environmentally responsible. Some travelers suggest tweaking the schedules though, which is fair feedback that could make the tours even better. Wild Land Trekking shines on the Appalachian Trail thanks to guide Sean, who travelers say really understands both the terrain and how to lead groups through it. That said, we did see one negative review that makes a solid point about matching guides to the difficulty level of these challenging hikes - it's crucial for these more demanding routes. What's interesting is how the guide quality seems to make or break the experience across all these companies. When you've got someone who knows their stuff, like Austin or Sean, the whole tour just works better. The areas where companies struggle tend to be about consistency and making sure every group gets that same level of expertise.

"The overall organization prior to the beginning of the tour was great and sufficient. Very friendly and helpful guides! They knew the best photo spots and provided some general background information. I would have liked a bit more facts about the places we visited and additional information such as historic dates and fun facts and so on though. The bus and driver were great as well. Unfortunately, some locations were closed due to public holidays and the upcoming presidential inauguration in Washington D.C. The guides provided good alternatives but it would have been nice to know in advance, that the itinerary needs to be slightly changed. The stops in Washington from were a bit rushed and a lot of walking was involved, which might not be suitable for children and elderly people. We went to the Canadian side for the Niagara Falls. This was not specifically mentioned on the itinerary. Even upon asking beforehand whether we will be leaving the US, it was said that we will not go to the Canadian side. This should have been clearly stated on the itinerary. For return trips to New York, a lot of time was spent on the bus (up to 4 hours). It would have been nice to know this in advance to better prepare. Overall great experience - I would recommend the tour in general.

"Very disappointing tour. Only 1 day out of 7 actually stuck to the advertised itinerary. Very little time to explore places, bus got lost on more than one occasion, activities were cancelled with no adequate alternative and our highlight hotel was swapped for a very poor alternative, miles from anywhere, which meant extra hours on the coach instead of seeing the area. We complained and have had absolutely no satisfaction. They admit the tour was disappointing but will not even consider any sort of refund or compensation. Don't use this company if you want the advertised holiday. They apparently have the right to change as much as they want without any comeback.

"he Sunsets and Southern Charm April 21-25 tour to Charleston and Savannah was an absolutely beautiful trip with a very busy itinerary, i.e., the way I like it. This was my 3rd attempt for this tour and it was well worth it. Let me begin by saying our Tour Director Janet Serra was fantastic. She was ‘On Top’ of everything making for a smooth 5 days. Since I booked my trip on-line and not a part of the Southington Senior Center, Janet helped greatly with my connection upon arrival and departure eliminating so much stress. A Tour Director can make or break a trip and she certainly made the tour run smoothly. I would travel with her again. I loved the guided narrated tour in Charleston, Horse-Drawn carriage in Beaufort (I believe the guide was Charlotte. She was so sweet, cheerful and spoke to her horse so tenderly. Loved her accent.), and the narrated tour in Savannah viewing architecture and learning the history at various locations. It was a great schedule of interesting things to learn and enjoy. The Local Guides on all 3 tours spoke clearly and were very entertaining. The Dolphin cruise of Tybee Island was great being on the water which brought back many special memories of days gone by. The ‘Full Breakfasts’ were fantastic at both hotels rather than Continental. Best Restaurant: Paula Deen’s Overall Entrees, Best Fried Chicken (not overdone) and Location (nice to be walking distance from hotel). Aside for the rainy arrival day, which is beyond anyone’s control, we had awesome weather. Came home with wonderful memories of what I saw, learned and people I met. I would recommend this tour for sure.
