Loved the small tour mini bus and the fact only 6 of us which made it much more personable. A lot was packed into 3 days but never felt rushed. Our guide was great and knowledgable and very patient with us when some did not always follow the itinerary!! Would certainly return to UK to do another tour with Rabbies and recommend them to others.

Lovely informative driver June Smith, looked after jus well. only complaint was no against tour or compan y was that we were subjected by roa d rage not just oncebut 3 times by the same truck driver jamming his brakes on in front of us probably only 10 feet away from us forcing June to brake hard or be hit. just frightning. but other wise wonderful experience by rabbies. Top operators in South West England
Our travelers consistently highlight three tour operators that really stand out in customer service. Rabbies has built quite a reputation through their guides, and we hear particularly good things about Amir and Mark - they bring real depth to their tours with solid historical knowledge and engaging stories. British Heritage Tours gets high marks for putting together logical, well-thought-out routes and having guides who pay attention to detail. The only common note of caution is that their vehicles can get a bit packed at peak times. We've also received positive feedback about a driver named Olivia, who impressed one of our TourRadar customers with her skilled navigation through Cornwall's winding roads - though we don't have the specific tour company name in that case. Each of these operators has their own style, with Rabbies standing out for their storytelling approach, British Heritage focusing on carefully planned historical routes and smaller details that make tours run smoothly.

The 3-day tours combine Stonehenge and Bath with Cornwall's coastal charms in a neat package. You'll walk through Wells Cathedral and its medieval Vicars' Close in the morning before exploring places like Port Isaac with its narrow lanes and old fishermen's cottages. Our TourRadar customers love that groups stay small - usually 6 to 8 people - which lets guides like Russ adjust the pace to match everyone's interests and energy levels. Some trips include backstage passes to Salisbury Cathedral's stonemason workshops, while others head to Lyme Regis for fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coast. A few travelers mentioned wanting more time in Bath's Georgian streets and less at the busier tourist spots.

Setting off from London, you'll pass through Stonehenge and Winchester on your way to Cornwall's rugged shores. Our guests particularly enjoy staying at Bovey Castle, where local storytellers share regional tales over evening meals. Demographics
If you're traveling solo, our small group tours covering Cornwall and Devon work especially well. The 3-day options from London fit nicely into longer UK trips, and you'll be with just 6-16 other travelers. Our guides Amir and Mark get great feedback for creating a friendly vibe and knowing all the good local food spots. When we visit the Isle of Wight, we include group dinners in Shanklin but also leave plenty of time for you to explore places like Winchester's old streets or Bath's Georgian architecture at your own speed.
Our 6-7 day tours attract lots of couples looking for a mix of coastal walks and cultural experiences. You get quiet evenings in lovely villages like Shanklin and Falmouth, plus some really nice sunset views from St Catherine's Down. The balance works well - join the group to learn about Tintagel Castle's King Arthur connections, then spend your evening finding a cozy seafood spot in Port Isaac. In Bath, you can explore the Roman Baths together and try out the city's excellent food scene.
Active travelers in their 20s and 30s tend to go for our hiking and culture combinations. The Jurassic Coast routes give you a proper workout with 10km daily walks between Weymouth and Durdle Door, plus time to search for fossils on the beaches. We also take you through the massive biomes at the Eden Project and up to Glastonbury, where you can climb the Tor for valley views and learn about the mystical history. The small groups make it easy to connect with other travelers, and our guides know all the good local pubs and music spots.
Our longer 7-day southern England circuits work particularly well for seniors who prefer a comfortable pace. We plan the stops carefully at Stonehenge, Portsmouth's historic dockyards and Windsor Castle, choosing hotels right in the center of each place we visit. TourRadar customers often mention guide June Smith, who's good at adjusting the walking speed and finding quiet spots to share detailed history. We include scenic drives through Dartmoor and along the Cornish coast, with plenty of stops for cream teas and local foods.
South West England works really well for families - we mix education with outdoor activities that kids actually enjoy. The guides at Stonehenge keep things interesting with stories that children can relate to, and over on the Isle of Wight, kids love spotting wild ponies and exploring Queen Victoria's old holiday home at Osborne House. Our teenage travelers particularly enjoy hunting for fossils along the Jurassic Coast and the beach stops at Durdle Door. The Roman Baths in Bath include hands-on activities, the medieval castles are great for exploration and the little ones always light up when we take the steam train across Dartmoor.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
By autumn the crowds thin out and the landscapes fill with color. Most people start at Stonehenge before heading to Glastonbury to climb the Tor. Then it's on to Bath where you can take it easy with afternoon tea and walks past Georgian buildings. The longer tours head to the Isle of Wight which is lovely and quiet this time of year - our travelers really enjoy watching the sun go down from St. Catherine's Down and exploring Winchester's old mill and also its cathedral. If you go for 7 days you'll get deep into Cornwall to see St. Ives' galleries, the cliffs at Land's End and also St. Michael's Mount rising from the water. The cooler autumn weather makes it much nicer for walking around medieval towns and coastal paths according to our TourRadar customers.
