Mount Everest Tours & Trips Reviews
- Everest 3 High Pass Trekking
Did the Three Passes in March in 2020 and Basu went above and beyond to coordinate the ever changing logistics brought upon by new travel restrictions with my guide while we were on the trek. While I was stuck in Nepal waiting for a flight home, he made sure I was well taken care of made sure to keep morale high. I can't wait to come back and do another trek with Nepal Social Treks.
- Everest 3 High Pass Trekking
The Everest High Passes trek with Nepal Social Trek and Expedition was phenomenal. Over the 15-day trek, our group of three forged lasting friendships with our guide, Achut Pandey, and porters who went the extra mile in everything they did to make our journey culturally rewarding and successful. While not for the faint-of-heart, this route offered views of the Himalayas, cultural experiences and mental and physical challenges that can't be found on the more heavily trafficked routes to Everest Base Camp. We were the only people on the trail for most of the trek. Nepal Social Trek and Expedition, Basu Panday, and Woodapple Hotel and Spa handled the organization and details of our trek flawlessly, including two days of touring in Kathmandu. Thank you Nepal Social Treks for making our dream come true.
- Everest Base Camp Trekking
The company really made my EBC trek the trip of a lifetime! Always there to help and the guide Furienji Sherpa was the best guide that could be asked for! No negatives about the trip at all! Definitely would recommend this company to anyone looking to do any treks in Nepal and surrounding areas.

For serious trekkers looking to reach Everest Base Camp, we offer several outstanding routes that typically span 12-15 days. Our most popular trek takes you through the Dudh Koshi Valley and Sagarmatha National Park, with a vital two-day stop in Namche Bazaar to adjust to the altitude. Travelers particularly love the evening prayer ceremony at Tengboche Monastery and the chance to interact with local Sherpa communities. Another excellent option is our express 9-day trek, which follows a similar route but at a brisker pace - perfect for fit hikers on a tighter schedule. For those seeking a less crowded experience, the Ama Dablam Base Camp trek offers remarkable solitude with paths through conifer forests and summer yak pastures in the Mingbo Valley.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursThe real adventure seekers among our clients often opt for the Island Peak climbing expedition, which combines traditional EBC trekking with the technical challenge of summiting a 6,173m peak. Our customers rave about the experienced Sherpa guides who ensure safety while sharing their deep knowledge of the region. Another unique offering is our Express Trek Via Lukla, where you'll traverse the Khumbu glacier and rocky trails to Gorakshep before making an early morning ascent of Kala Patthar. The local tea houses along these routes get consistently positive feedback from our travelers, who appreciate the warm hospitality and hot meals after long days on the trail.
See all Active toursFor those seeking a genuine mountain expedition, our most popular Everest routes combine classic trekking with unique cultural touches. The cornerstone journey takes you through the DudhKoshi Valley to Phakding before ascending to the vibrant trading post of Namche Bazaar. What makes this route special is how it balances physical challenge with cultural immersion - our travelers consistently mention the morning prayer ceremonies at Tengboche Monastery as a highlight they didn't expect. The trek continues past alpine forests and remote tea houses, ultimately reaching Everest Base Camp where you'll find yourself surrounded by expedition tents and glacier views. Our travelers particularly love the guides' deep knowledge of the region, with many mentioning how their Sherpa guides shared untold stories of legendary climbers while pointing out rare wildlife like pheasants, musk deer and Himalayan thar along the trails. The routes are carefully paced with strategic rest days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, which our experienced trekkers say makes all the difference in successfully reaching higher altitudes. You'll stay in family-run tea houses, giving you a genuine peek into mountain life while enjoying surprisingly good meals sourced from local gardens. The express version of the trek runs 9-12 days and suits those with limited time but solid hiking experience. It follows similar routes but with a more focused itinerary and fewer rest days. Our customers particularly value the pre-dawn hike to Kala Patthar at 5554m, where the sunrise creates a 360-degree panorama of the entire Khumbu range. For the most immersive experience though, the longer 14-16 day treks allow you to explore hidden valleys and remote monasteries that most trekkers miss.

Top operators in Mount Everest
For Mount Everest trekking companies, our travelers consistently give strong reviews to Sherpa Expedition & Trekking, where guides like Furienji Sherpa, Lapkah and also Pasang really deliver with their deep local knowledge and attention to practical needs. They've got fresh food even at high camps, which makes a huge difference when you're pushing yourself at altitude. Just keep in mind there have been some hiccups with communication and last-minute flight changes, plus a few unexpected costs that caught some trekkers off guard. If comfort is a priority, Peregrine Treks has built a solid reputation with their more upscale approach. Their guides Chetup and Kamal know how to make even tough days feel manageable, and the lodges they use are notably comfortable. The food gets lots of positive mentions too - it's much better than what you might expect at these altitudes. For those watching their budget, Apex and specifically their guide Gyanu offer great value without cutting corners on safety or experience. Several of our clients mentioned how Gyanu's local connections came in handy during weather delays, getting them back on schedule without drama. The price point is competitive but they don't skimp on essential services or safety measures.

"I had an amazing experience with Nepal Social Trek! Starting with clear communication and well-organized trip planning followed by a warm welcome, we were impressed by the great hospitality we received from everyone. The trip was a real adventure, full of happy emotions and beautiful moments shared together. Our guides, Narayan and Govinda, were extremely skilled and knowledgeable. They were not only excellent guides but also beautiful people from a human point of view. After the trek, Nepal Social Trek also arranged a guided tour of the city of Bhaktapur and its temples for us. I absolutely recommend Nepal Social Trek!

"I recently completed the Everest Base Camp Trek with Sherpa Expedition, and it was absolutely life-changing. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel safe and well-prepared for the challenging trek ahead. Our Sherpas were not only highly experienced but also incredibly friendly and supportive throughout the journey. The views along the way were breathtaking, and reaching the base camp itself felt like a dream come true. I couldn’t have asked for a better company to guide me through this incredible adventure!

Demographics
Couples really connect with our luxury lodge treks to Everest, thanks to those private heated rooms that feel so welcome after hiking. The 14-16 day routes let you take it all in together, with quiet evenings sharing dinner at mountain lodges and watching the sun drop behind Everest from spots like the Yeti Mountain Home properties. The guides read each couple's pace perfectly, adjusting daily distances while porters handle all the heavy lifting. Taking the helicopter back proves super popular - you get this incredible shared flight over the Himalayas and skip that long walk down. Our couples often tell us how special it felt experiencing Buddhist prayers together at Tengboche Monastery and sharing butter tea with Sherpa families in their homes.
The 9-10 day express treks really click with young adults who want to pack all the key spots into a shorter timeline. You'll still hit Base Camp, Kala Patthar and all the major views, just with fewer rest stops - perfect if you're fit but short on vacation days. The tea houses become social hubs where you'll meet travelers from all over, swapping stories and making friends. Lots of our younger clients add the Gokyo Lakes section for some less-traveled trails and different perspectives. The guides keep things lively with tales about famous climbers and help spot musk deer, Himalayan tahr and other wildlife along the way. It's properly challenging but you're also diving deep into Sherpa culture and traditions with local guides who know these mountains inside out.
Senior travelers consistently pick our 14-16 day luxury lodge treks that take altitude nice and steady. These routes include extra time in Namche Bazaar for proper adjustment - something our older clients really value. The guides perfectly match everyone's natural pace so nobody feels pushed or left behind. The heated en-suite rooms in the better lodges make such a difference, especially after full days on the trail. There's plenty of time built in for exploring Sherpa villages, visiting monasteries and learning local customs from guides who've spent years in these valleys. Most of our senior travelers opt for the helicopter flight back - it gives you amazing mountain views from above and saves your knees from that long trek down.
