Top operators
Based on customer experiences, three river cruise operators stand out - each with their own strengths. Our travelers consistently praise Tours of Distinction's Seine River programs, with specific mentions of Cruise Concierge Steven who goes above and beyond. Over at TourRadar, while some folks hit snags during booking, the actual bike and barge tours turned out well thanks to a flexible boat owner who adapted to guest needs and preferences. Uniworld's Paris & Normandy route also earned solid feedback from past guests. They particularly liked how beautiful the ship looked, noted that the food quality stayed high throughout the journey and found the crew genuinely friendly and helpful. The consistency in service quality seems to be a real strong point for them.

"We had an absolutely fantastic time with Crosi Cruise! The food was plentiful and delicious, and the wine seemed to flow endlessly, adding a wonderful touch to every meal. The staff were amazing—friendly, attentive, and always ready to make us feel at home. The smaller number of passengers created an intimate, welcoming atmosphere where we quickly felt like part of a close-knit community. We cherished every single minute of the journey and can’t wait to book another trip. Highly recommend!

"The ship, staff, food and hospitality experience were first class. Little touches like free transfers to airport, free self-serve laundry, and the all inclusive 24/7 aspect of the ship were added benefits. Overall a great experience.

"Had a great time. Met some wonderful people. Loved the various places we visited. It was great having Steven as our Cruise Concierge. Would definitely consider going on another Tours of Distinction trip. There were a couple of things were not aware of until we received the trip documentation. (Neither of these things affected the enjoyment of the trip,) Did not realize that there was bus transportation to/from the airport or that the trip itinerary had been reversed. Again had a great time and will recommend Tours of Distinction.

The Seine really comes alive on our 7-day cruises that dig deep into French art and history. You'll get to know Monet's world intimately at his Giverny home and gardens, then see his largest collection at the Musée Marmottan. In Rouen, the medieval atmosphere still lingers - there's this fantastic old astronomical clock, and you can trace Joan of Arc's path through the old town. For those interested in royal heritage, we've got routes that take you through both Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte and Fontainebleau Palace, where 34 different kings and emperors left their mark across eight centuries.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Paris, Rouen, Honfleur, Caudebec-en-Caux
See all toursOur 10-day Seine trips give you that extra bit of time to really settle into key spots. One route starts in Paris before winding through Normandy's countryside and smaller ports. Les Andelys is particularly special - Richard the Lionheart's castle ruins still watch over the Seine Valley from up high. These longer journeys include some nice touches like private concerts in historic châteaux and cooking sessions with local chefs. Our travelers tell us they love having more time in each port - it means they can hop on bikes to explore Normandy's monastery routes and visit small Calvados producers who still make their spirits the traditional way.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Paris, Lyon, Beaune, Viviers, Avignon, Arles, Marseille
The 14-day journeys mix Seine cruising with broader European exploration. You'll kick off with three nights in London, touring Westminster Abbey and the Tower before taking the Eurostar to Paris. After experiencing the Seine region with its Monet gardens and Norman villages, the journey continues through some fantastic spots in Europe. Most people choose the route through the Swiss Alps to Venice, where you'll see traditional glass-making on Murano and explore the quieter canals, then move on to Florence's Renaissance art and also Rome's ancient sites. It's a great choice for first-time visitors to Europe who want both river cruising and cultural experiences.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Paris, Chartres, Saint-Malo, Mont Saint-Michel, Le Havre, Caudebec-en-Caux, Rouen, Les Andelys, Vernon, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine

Young adults tend to gravitate toward Seine cruises that keep them moving and engaged. They really get into our guided bike tours through Paris's lesser-known corners, hiking up to Château Gaillard and paddling kayaks along quiet parts of the river. The tours mix in street art walks in Rouen, hands-on cooking classes with market-fresh ingredients and also wine tastings in historic cellars. Our travelers like how flexible the schedule is - you can join morning photo walks, explore riverside villages on your own all afternoon and then meet up for local music shows in the evening.
Senior travelers appreciate Seine cruises that take care of the details while delivering authentic French experiences. We've found the sweet spot with easy-paced walking tours through medieval Rouen, comfortable coach rides to the Normandy beaches and also relaxed visits to Monet's gardens. Seine River cruises work really well for families - we've seen how much kids love the hands-on activities mixed with just enough history to keep them engaged. Parents tell us the bike rides along Vernon's riverside paths are always a hit, and the kids get excited about exploring Richard the Lionheart's castle ruins. The Seine Museum in Caudebec-en-Caux has these great interactive exhibits, plus there's this fascinating astronomical clock in Rouen that captures everyone's attention. - Fall / Autumn 2025
Fall brings nice temperatures and rich colors to the Seine Valley. Our autumn cruises focus on local food traditions with visits to apple orchards, Calvados makers and also cheese producers in Normandy. You'll find fewer crowds at places like Versailles' private apartments and Monet's gardens. The route includes Rouen's old quarter where fall colors make the timber buildings look even better, plus Les Andelys where the light's just right for photos of Château Gaillard against the autumn sky. Lots of our guests choose these trips because they mix cultural visits with seasonal food experiences really well.
