Luxury Spain Tours & Trips Reviews
- Great Iberian Cities (9 Days)
Good combination of planned activities and free time or optional activities. Nice to stay two nights in each hotel. Good additional local guides. Only negative was lack of usable bathroom on bus. They did take rest stops every 2-3 hours.
- Discovery of Spain - 10 days
The quality fo the hotels was above average and the driver was excellent. The tour guide was changed 3 times .ROsa was our first one and was satisfactory, the second one did the tour of the city of Madrid was excellent her knowledge was amazing and interesting. The third one was Alejandra who was really nice and tried really hard to please and still control the group. What was not satisfactory was ,the first night they were given a bus that did not work, the sound system did not work then the bus quit. that is poor quality directly due to the company not the employees . Therefore we missed seeing some of what we should have seen. The bus for the rest of the tour was good and comfortable and not overfilled. These are the things I feel are missing in your tour company. I have taken many tours and they usually operate like this. 1)At the beginning of the tour you are provided with a detailed list of time tables of all activiites and places and what you will see each day and where you will stay each night . In your company we are given only a time table each night of when we are to get up , have breakfast and if we have ot take luggage with us and what time we are leaving. Verbally when we begin the day the tour quide informs us of where we are going and some broad parameters of time tables. thoughout the day we are updated on timelines etc . 2) In really good tours-You are also given a rotationg seating arrangement for each day so everyone has an opportunity to be seated in the best seats. it is not a scramble of who can get there first which is how your company chooses to operate. It is not fair to the less mobile people . 3)also the better tours - take the luggage from the hotel to the bus for the clients. In your companies case you ask your clients to transport their own luggage which is still acceptable. But what is not is that you ask your clients to stand with their luggage till the bus driver gets to it to load it. that means that individual travellers are then last to enter the bus and get last pick of the seats as the couples are smart enough to quickly figure out to send one person in ot grab the best seats . So to be fair you should either have a seating plan or not require people to stand with their luggage until the bus driver has time to load their luggage. I heard some of the complaints from other clients and they may not tell you but they will tell their friends. Another suggestion I will make is that you add something other than just cathedrals and city tours to your intinerary . the Flamenco show was excellent and so was the artisan shops . but you need more variety to your tour to make it better . after a while it is just another cathedral and just another government building no matter how detailed they are . You could add things to make it a lot more intersting , like sheep farms, factories ,the andalusina horse show at the royal stable, information on the economy, goernment, education , your fishing industry and many other subjects that would make this a lot more interesting. For those reason I felt it was only satisfactory. If you want to see what the best tour I have ever taken looks for variety , take a look at CIE in Ireland of their 21 day tour of all of Ireland. It is by far the best tour I have ever been on and has become my measure for all other tours .
- Charming Spain - 9 Days
Alejandra is such a wonderful tour guide, responsible and warm-heart. We arrived in Barcelona on weekends, I had problems to book Covid testing due to most test centers closed. Alejandra helped to find a center that was open and even booked a Sunday appointment for me. She was well organized and made sure I could join the tour group at the correct location after the testing. On Monday to the airport, the traffic made the driver late arriving in the hotel, Alejandra called the taxi company, texted me back and forth a few times and made sure I got to the airport on time. It’s very impressive that Alejandra is so responsive, reliable, and detail oriented with her job. Thanks for your help. I will give you a warm welcome if you come visiting Canada.
What our customers ask about Spain Luxury Tours & Trips
What unique luxury experiences are included in Spanish tours?
High-end Spanish tours combine special access with local authenticity. Guests explore Madrid's Prado Museum with art historians in private sessions, learn flamenco steps at the respected Cristina Heeren Foundation, and share meals with local families. In northern Spain, visitors can sample home-cooked dishes in Gijón while learning about the region's cider-making heritage from multi-generation producers.
What type of luxury accommodations can I expect in Spain?
Spain's top-tier hotels blend historic charm with modern comfort. The oceanfront Eurostars Hotel Real in Santander provides rooms overlooking Playa de los Peligros, while the Hesperia Madrid sits on the capital's elegant Paseo de la Castellana. Most properties offer marble-fitted bathrooms, private courtyards, and locations within walking distance to main attractions.
How is luxury transportation handled throughout Spain?
Tours use upgraded coaches featuring seats with extended legroom, restroom facilities, and free WiFi connectivity. For example, Insight Vacations configures their 40-seat vehicles for 20-26 passengers, ensuring comfort during scenic routes along Spain's Costa Verde. All vehicles undergo thorough cleaning between trips.
What level of cuisine can I expect on a luxury Spanish tour?
Spain's culinary offerings range from Michelin-starred restaurants to private tastings at family vineyards. San Sebastian, with its high concentration of acclaimed restaurants, serves as a highlight for food enthusiasts. Guests often participate in cooking workshops and visit established wineries across La Rioja's celebrated wine country.
What is the optimal season for luxury travel in Spain?
Spain welcomes visitors most comfortably during spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October). These months offer mild temperatures and smaller crowds at major sites. Tour operators typically schedule more departures during these periods to take advantage of the pleasant outdoor conditions.
What level of guide expertise can I expect on a luxury Spain tour?
Tours employ regional specialists and subject matter experts throughout Spain. In Madrid, art historians lead visitors through the Prado Museum's collection, offering context about Spanish masters like Velázquez and Goya through stories and historical details.
