What people love about touring Spain solo
- Spain in Style (Small Group)
The tour itself was marvelous. The venues we enjoyed were truly the best of Spain. Our tour guide, Riad, was friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The bus and driver (Fran) were top notch in quality, comfort, and safety. The only issue we had was Tourradar's lack of offering US-based customers the ability to upgrade their hotel rooms like everyone else in the world. The tour guide told us that Tourradar is bad about not offering hotel upgrades to US clients. The hotel in Madrid was filthy, and the hotel in Cordoba had almost no a/c and they turned the water off that night. We were dropped off like red-headed stepchildren where the bus driver stayed, while everyone else went to the nicer hotels for a couple of hundred dollars more for the whole trip (I was told by others in our group). If anyone from the US wants to book through Tourradar, I strongly suggest that you CALL and ask them directly about hotel upgrades prior to booking the Grand Tour of Spain. Had I known that beforehand, I would now be rating this tour five stars easily.
- Walk the Camino de Santiago
Very nice experience, average hotels, my single room was sometimes very small, hotel in Santiago had no window looking outside but only in a internal court, very poor breakfast except in Sarria, My name for the survet is Marie Nicole and not Janet !!!!
- Discovery of Spain - 10 days
Our tour guide, Natalia, was very informative, caring and helpful. Alin, our driver, made our trip comfortable and safe. The itinerary was awesome but I think it would be better to add more variety to it. The respective local tour guides (Lola, Elena, Valentin, Teresa, Monsie, Anna) knew their cities well and very educational. The hotel accomodations and the food for the premium package were well chosen and worth the upgrade. We recommend to get the premium/superior hotel package. Overall, we enjoyed the tour and we were blessed to have a fun and easy going group. We also want to commend the customer service for their fast and reliable response to our pre and mid-tour inquiries.

Which regions of Spain are most welcoming for solo travelers?
Barcelona San Sebastian and Seville stand out as especially welcoming cities for those traveling alone. Safe walkable neighborhoods like Barcelona's Gothic Quarter and Seville's Santa Cruz district make independent exploration straightforward. How much free time do solo travelers get on Spain tours?

What safety considerations are in place for solo travelers on Spain tours?
Companies prioritize safety through bilingual guides secure hotels and organized transport between destinations. Properties like Meliá Lebreros in Seville and NH Las Ciencias in Valencia sit in well-lit central areas. Tour leaders provide local safety briefings and stay available 24/7. According to one TourRadar reviewer "I felt completely safe traveling solo - our guide was always available and gave excellent safety advice for free time activities."
What's the best time of year for solo travelers to join Spain tours?
The shoulder seasons of spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) offer the best conditions with mild weather and manageable crowds.
