Hi Travel was amazing! I have booked my holidays last minute and they quickly responded to my request and booked the tours and made all the arrangements very quickly. They were very responsive and informative, providing all confirmations via emails which made it easy to plan your day. It definitely took the stress out for me arranging it all and knowing that there will be someone to help if need to be. I have booked the End of the world tour. All tours arranged were great and run by professional tour guides and simply stunning! Also using Tourradar was great experience, quickly responded to any queries and would definitely recommend both and use for future trips.
Travel Patagonia your way
Our most popular hiking routes center on Torres del Paine's incredible circuits. The full O Circuit takes 8 days to loop the massif - you'll camp near the massive Dickson Glacier and cross swaying suspension bridges over Grey Glacier. If you're short on time, the W Trek packs the best bits into 5 days including French Valley and Grey Lake. Our hikers tell us the pre-dawn walk to Mirador Base Torres is worth every step - you'll see three giant granite towers rising above a bright turquoise lagoon. For a real deep dive into Patagonia's trails, our 13-day trips combine Torres del Paine with El Chaltén's paths to Laguna de los Tres and Laguna Torre, getting you right up close to Mount Fitz Roy and also Cerro Torre.
See all Hiking & Trekking toursWant to mix things up in Patagonia? Our 10-day route starts in Buenos Aires before heading south to Bariloche and El Calafate for some proper outdoor action. The Bariloche portion has you cycling the Circuito Chico with views over Nahuel Huapi Lake, plus a chair lift up Cerro Campanario for some serious mountain panoramas. Lots of our clients opt to bike the Seven Lakes route to San Martín de los Andes too. Down in Tierra del Fuego, we run 4-day Ushuaia trips where you'll walk through southern beech forests and boat the Beagle Channel - keep your eyes peeled for sea lions and seabirds around Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse. We build in enough wiggle room so you can add extra activities or take it easy when needed.
See all Active toursExplore a wide diversity of coach / bus tours through Patagonia. We have 6 adventures that vary from 4 days to 15 days. With the greatest number of departures in October, this is also the most popular time of the year.
For those wanting to really dive into Patagonia's wilderness, our longer tours pack in the best highlights over 10-14 days. Starting in Buenos Aires, you'll head south to tackle some seriously good trails. Most travelers go for the route through Los Glaciares National Park, hiking up to Laguna de los Tres for clear views of Mount Fitz Roy. Then there's the massive Perito Moreno Glacier where chunks of ice regularly crash into Lake Argentino - it's quite something to see in person. Our customers particularly like how we balance guided walks with free time, and they often mention how smooth the logistics are which lets them focus on the actual experience.

Looking at the Patagonia tour operators, Wanderful Holidays and OneSeed emerge as the top choices based on actual traveler experiences. Wanderful Holidays gets consistently good feedback for how they handle all the details - from sorting out transport logistics and accommodation to keeping travelers well-informed throughout their trips. OneSeed really shines with their small-group treks. Their guides know both the popular trails and hidden spots, plus they've found some unique places to stay that you wouldn't typically find on standard tours. Our travelers particularly like how personal these trips feel, since you're not just following the crowd. Exodus and TourRadar sit somewhere in the middle. While many of their customers have good experiences, we've heard about some hiccups with communication and cases where the actual trip didn't quite match what was advertised. These aren't deal-breakers, but worth keeping in mind when you're choosing. I'd suggest steering clear of Unu Raymi Expeditions for now. Multiple travelers have reported issues with poor organization, spotty communication and trips that didn't deliver what was promised in the brochure. When you're planning something as complex as a Patagonia trip, you really need an operator you can count on.
Best places to start your Patagonia tour
Most of our Patagonia journeys start from Buenos Aires which offers 24 different departure options throughout the season. El Calafate comes in as another popular kickoff point with 23 tour starts, while Puerto Natales - your gateway to Torres del Paine - gives you 15 different options to begin your trip. Ushuaia, Punta Arenas and some other cities round out the starting points with 9 and 6 tours respectively. Since prime spots fill up quickly, booking about 100 days ahead makes sense - this helps lock in your preferred dates and lodging, particularly during the busy summer months from December through February. The sweet spot for visiting falls between November and March when the weather's kinder and days stretch longer. Mid-November to mid-December is particularly nice with spring flowers blooming and fewer tourists around, plus you get great conditions for photos and hiking. While you can see the highlights in 7-10 days, many of our travelers stay longer to really sink into the wilderness experience and work around Patagonia's ever-changing weather patterns.
Discover Patagonia tours for every budget
Looking to explore Patagonia without stretching your wallet? The 2-night El Calafate package gets you up close with Perito Moreno Glacier - our customers love starting early to catch wildlife and take in the views from multiple angles. For a bit more exploration, the 4-night El Calafate and El Chalten combo adds Mount Fitz Roy and guided walks up to Mirador de los Condores. Self-guided hikers often pick the W Trek in Torres del Paine; you can move at your own speed while we handle the beds and logistics. First-time trekkers tell us they really appreciate the detailed daily plans and gear lists we provide, which takes the guesswork out of preparing.

Popular itineraries blend Buenos Aires' arts scene with multi-day walks in Los Glaciares National Park, and also dramatic views of Perito Moreno's ice formations. Groups naturally come together during shared meals and evening chats while trekking Torres del Paine's W Circuit, where nights are spent camping beneath star-filled skies on the way to Grey Glacier's viewpoints. Tours often include penguin spotting at Martillo Island, kayaking the Beagle Channel, and open days to discover El Calafate, El Chaltén and other mountain towns independently. Our travelers consistently mention the seamless organization of transfers, detailed morning briefings and expert guidance, which lets them focus on watching condors glide past snow-capped peaks and taking in the raw beauty of Patagonia's wilderness.

The Argentina-Chile crossover tour blends Buenos Aires cultural visits with Patagonian landscapes, complete with private transfers and guides who adjust to how fast or slow you want to walk. Our travelers love being able to spend extra time taking photos along the Grey Glacier trail and watching condors soar in Torres del Paine. For serious trekkers, the private Torres del Paine 'O' Circuit comes with mountain guides and porters to carry the heavy stuff - you just focus on taking in the views and enjoying the trail.
Top Patagonia travel itineraries to fit your plans
Our 3-day Patagonia trips concentrate on El Calafate and El Chaltén's key spots. Most people go for the trek to Cerro Torre's lookouts and camp by Laguna Torres, where the wind pushes icebergs along the water's edge. You could also pick the Torres del Paine option covering Lago Grey and Lake Nordenskjöld, with walks through Valle Frances and up to glacier viewpoints. If you're heading to Ushuaia, we've got a compact trip mixing Beagle Channel boat rides to see sea lions and penguins with walks in Tierra del Fuego National Park. Our travelers tell us these quick trips work well - you get real Patagonian wilderness without needing lots of hiking practice.
See all toursWeek-long tours let you really get to know Patagonia. One popular route links El Calafate with El Chaltén - you'll walk to Mount Fitz Roy's base, check out Perito Moreno Glacier and have time to explore these mountain towns at your own pace. There's also a great Torres del Paine W Trek option where you'll camp in wild spots and hike to Grey Glacier, French Valley and the Torres base. Our customers like how these tours mix guided hikes with free time to explore. Most days involve 6-8 hours of walking, but those views of hanging glaciers and granite peaks make the effort worth it.
See all toursTen days gives you time for both hiking and cultural discoveries. Starting from Buenos Aires, you'll head south to experience Patagonia's main attractions. The routes take you through Los Glaciares National Park, to watch ice chunks fall at Perito Moreno and across Torres del Paine's varied terrain. Some trips go down to Ushuaia for Beagle Channel cruises and Tierra del Fuego hikes. Our travelers particularly value the rest days between big hikes - it really helps you absorb each place properly. Most days include 4-6 hours of walking, with some longer 8-hour hikes mixed in.

Our solo routes through Patagonia hit a nice balance of group time and personal space. Many people start in Buenos Aires before heading down to El Chaltén for the Laguna de los Tres trek - you'll join a small group but still have room to go at your own pace. The local guides Marina and Seba get lots of mentions in the feedback for how they help everyone through the tougher sections. Another solid option pairs El Calafate's glaciers with the W Trek in Torres del Paine; our travelers tell us the group really clicks over shared dinners and trail stories.
The premium Patagonia trips work really well for couples - you get active days on the trails and comfortable evenings at well-picked hotels. The route from Santiago down to Ushuaia lets you mix hiking with wildlife spotting, and we've built in good chunks of free time to explore on your own. Quite a few couples go for the Buenos Aires start with tango shows before heading south for glacier walks and penguin colonies near Ushuaia. The small groups mean you can stick close to your partner but still make friends with other travelers along the way.
The more challenging routes tend to draw younger travelers, especially the full W Circuit in Torres del Paine where you trek three valleys and camp under Patagonian skies. El Chaltén's day hikes paired with mountain lodge stays is another favorite - social but not restricting. Our guides get what this age group wants: pushing hard on the trails while having a good time. You'll learn about local geology while sharing mate tea with new friends. Many add extras like ice hiking on Perito Moreno or kayaking through the Beagle Channel for extra excitement.
The Premium Patagonia tour from Santiago works great for our older travelers - you can adjust daily activities to what suits you best, from short nature walks to scenic drives and boat trips out to the glaciers. Another good choice starts in Buenos Aires and moves south with two nights in most spots, so there's no rushing. Our guides Marcela and Lujan know how to set the right pace and make sure everyone gets to really take in places like Grey Glacier and the Balmaceda fjords. The mature travelers really like having all the planning done for them but still keeping some independence during free time.

- Spring 2025
Spring in Patagonia offers ideal conditions for exploring the diverse terrain. Our small groups head into Torres del Paine on well-marked paths, where you'll cross swaying bridges and make your way up to Windy Pass - our travelers often tell us how good the cold gusts feel after the climb up. We've designed tours that connect El Calafate's glacier experiences with El Chalten's trail network, so you can see both the massive ice sheets and mountain peaks in one trip. The guided walks to Laguna de los Tres showcase Mount Fitz Roy surrounded by spring flowers, while boat excursions take you right up to the active Perito Moreno Glacier. Many tours start in Buenos Aires, giving you time to wander through La Boca's painted streets and San Telmo's historic quarter before heading to Patagonia.

- Fall / Autumn 2025
Patagonia offers two perfect autumn routes that our travelers consistently choose. The first blends city and wilderness, starting in Buenos Aires before heading to Torres del Paine, where paths lead across suspended bridges and up to Windy Pass, opening up to crystal-clear mountain lakes. Many visitors opt for the route linking El Calafate's glacier experiences with El Chalten's trail system, which puts you face-to-face with both massive ice formations and dramatic peaks in a single trip. The guided walks to Laguna de los Tres showcase Mount Fitz Roy, framed beautifully by autumn foliage, while boat trips bring you directly to the active wall of Perito Moreno Glacier. Both journeys typically begin in Buenos Aires, giving travelers time to wander through La Boca's vibrant painted streets, San Telmo's historic district and also the city's cultural landmarks before venturing into Patagonia's untamed landscapes.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter transforms Patagonia into something special, with our customers consistently highlighting their favorite experiences. The Buenos Aires to Ushuaia journey connects city life in the capital with raw glacier exploration in the south. Our travelers tell us how guides adapt seamlessly to winter conditions, particularly around El Calafate, where Perito Moreno Glacier puts on spectacular ice formations. Santiago serves as another excellent starting point, with tours weaving through Torres del Paine using carefully timed stops that work with weather patterns - our guides know precisely when to move and when to pause for incoming weather. The winter Argentina-Chile combination tours include smart buffer days around key sites like French Valley, Grey Glacier and other notable spots. The smaller groups in winter mean more individual attention from guides Marina and Seba, who get specific praise from customers for their expertise in helping everyone handle the demanding winter landscape.

What's the best time to visit Patagonia?
You know, Patagonia's really amazing year-round but your perfect time really depends on what you want to do there. Summer runs December through February and that's when you'll get those lovely warm days and tons of daylight perfect for hiking Torres del Paine or checking out Perito Moreno Glacier. If you're into gorgeous colors autumn's your season from March to May the whole landscape just explodes with color. Winter's actually pretty special from June to August you can hit the slopes and there's way fewer tourists around. Spring's beautiful too September to November brings out all these amazing wildflowers and the weather's just right not too hot not too cold.
How can I experience Patagonia beyond the cities?
There's so much natural beauty to explore in Patagonia's protected areas you'll be amazed. Torres del Paine National Park in Chile is absolutely stunning with these massive granite peaks turquoise lakes and glaciers you can explore it on your own or with a guide doing either the W Trek if you're up for a challenge or the longer O Circuit. Over in Argentina Los Glaciares National Park is where you'll find the incredible Perito Moreno Glacier and El Chaltén which everyone calls the trekking capital you can drive there or take a boat trip. Down south there's Tierra del Fuego National Park right near Ushuaia with these beautiful forests peat bogs and amazing coastal views.
What's the best way to get around Patagonia?
Getting around Patagonia takes a bit of planning because it's so vast but you've got plenty of options. Domestic flights connect all the major spots like Buenos Aires Santiago El Calafate and Ushuaia with Aerolineas Argentinas being a popular choice in Argentina. Long-distance buses are great value and run regular routes between towns and across borders lots of people take the bus from Puerto Natales to El Calafate. If you want more freedom you can rent a car just keep in mind you might hit some gravel roads and weather can be tricky. Many people find guided tours really convenient since they handle all the transport for you.
How tough are the tours and can anyone do them?
Don't worry Patagonia's got something for everyone when it comes to activity levels. Sure there are challenging adventures like the Torres del Paine W Trek which covers about 75 kilometers over 4-5 days but there are plenty of easier options too. The Laguna de los Tres hike near El Chaltén gives you amazing views of Mount Fitz Roy and you can do it in just one day. Tour companies offer all sorts of different difficulty levels so you can pick what works for you. If hiking's not your thing try a boat tour scenic drive or cultural experience instead like viewing Perito Moreno Glacier from the walkways or taking a relaxing boat tour. The local guides are fantastic at making sure everyone has a great time no matter their fitness level.
