- David· January 30th, 2025This tour was amazing. Hiking through the Andes in Patagonia was challenging but worth every step once you see the towering mountains and the countless glaciers. When not hiking, visiting the towns and experiencing the people and the culture was exciting. I can't say enough about our CEO,"Natcho". He was very accommodating and made sure each participant had the holiday they wanted. He was very knowledgeable in all of the geology, history and wildlife of the area. He definitely made this trip unforgettable. I highly recommend this adventure to novice and pro hikers.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewThank you so much for sharing your experience of Patagonia with us, David! - PMPeter· February 25th, 2024The gadventure end of the earth tour was fantastic...a good mix of trekking and sightseeing and a great value. Patagonia has been on my life list for years and our guide Gabi was exceptional.G Adventures commented on this reviewThanks for the great review, Peter. We atre glad to hear that you had such a great time and that our CEO (guide) did en exceptional job.Trip date: February 2024
- Steve· January 13th, 2024This tour was over hyped and over priced. Nobody (16 participants) on this tour had any idea what the National Geographic value was as we only visited the most popular tourist sites / attractions. Yes we dd have free time, but possibly too much given many options that were marketed were not available, some due to bad weather. If you don't mind spending a lot of time and early mornings at/in airports (4 internal flights), lots of time travelling (including whole days in a totally unsuitable, small van) lots of free time and attending major tourist hotspots, then this is for you. On the plus side some of the expert commentray was excellentI. The guide in Buenos Aires was exceptional. The overall tour guide was great. More specifically: 1. I had major issues prior to trip with G Officers, who are scattered world wide. I received inaccurate, inappriate and an at times and contradictory conflicting advice. None had actually been on the tour and they basically read from the same notes participants were provided with, though interpreed differently! I was less than impressed by the lack of confidentialityby the officer based in Canada. Clearly communication is not a strong point asI have yet to receive a response to an email from early December. 2. The list of items to take is clearly a cover all for all tours. The list should be specific to speciic tours. Waterproff pants were not on the list and officers could not tell me if they were required or not - THEY DEF WERE!!!! I also took a host of things I def di not need. 3. You will spend a lot of times in airports and travelling. 4. The mini bus/van used for 2 whole days (8 and 10 hours!) in Chile was totally inadequate and was the cause of the only friction on the whole tour (due to ack of space and any real overhead storage, so we were very cramped for very long periods!!) 5. Not all options were available on free day, some due to inclement weather, We had to organise our own full day activities on the day (our travel guide helped). This suited some, but not others. G Adventures should provide specific options rather than leaving it totally to participants. 6. The quality of accommodation varied greatly from excellent to good, ok and downright poor (Calafate). Some (Calafate again) was also a taxi ride into the main town, also a distinct disadvantage. The single supplement in my view is way over priced. 7. If you are Australian, the Chile Visa will set you back $190. 8. Take another $USD600-1000+ depending on options you choose. You need to pay for every lunch bar one, every dinner bar 2. Plus of course you need to tip your tour guide and also specialist tour guides and driver. 9. There are much better itineraries and certainly better value, esp when considering visa cost; single supplement; long, tiring travel days; and no discernible National Geographic involvement. We only visited major tourist spots. 10. The experts provided v good commentary. The person doing the Buenos Aires tour was exceptional - thanks. Overall I enjoyed the trip because we had a very good group of participants (and overall tour guide) who interacted really well. However, the trip itself was underwhelming and certainly below expectations given the cost and lack of any discernible National Geographic influence. Knowing what I know now I would not do this trip and am also very reluctant to use G Adventures again.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Steve, Thanks for your feedback. - AGAnatole· December 26th, 2022This was our first experience with Gadventures (the actual tour operator). There were 12 people in the group, all except us in their thirties. The tour included several demanding treks in the mountains. The guides were very understanding and helpful. One of them always stayed with us so that we could go at the more “age-appropriate pace”. We were able to cover at least 2/3 of each ascend. The main guide of our group was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely well-organized and attentive to all our needs. Everything worked like clockwork. The views from the trails were stunning and unforgettable. The walk along Beagle Channel in the Tierra del Fuego national park was probably the most beautiful I ever experienced. On the negative side, some of the hotels have seen better days, especially Regente Palace in Buenos Aires. The hotel in Ushuaia was excellent. Overall, it would have been hard to do what we did on the tour on our own. So, we are glad that we went on this tour. A little disturbing was the fact that we paid $5K US for each person while the Australian participants paid 5K Australian and the Canadian participants paid 5K Canadian which is a lot less than 5K US for exactly the same thing. This does not look like fair pricing.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Anatole, Thank you for your feedback - much appreciated. - AJADRIENNE· November 7th, 2022I am glad I went and the tour has the potential to be absolutely fabulous. Our tour leader was a nice friendly young lady, but maybe it was her youth which caused the slip ups such as fast/ steep trekking with 16 people age range 25-64 and only one guide, and leaving booking trips and activities so last minute that places were no longer available and we spent many hours struggling to find and book our own activities which was difficult, very stressful and caused us to miss other things we wanted to do. We felt that paying good money for a tour was to have these things taken care of for us in a timely and honest fashion.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Adrienne, Thank you for taking the time to send your feedback; much appreciated. Please know that we hear you and your comments have been sent to our local operations and CEO management teams to review moving forward.Trip date: October 2022
