What people love about Argentina Tours
- Mountain Escape – Patagonia: El Chalten – 5 Days
The guide and porter, Pedro and Miguel, were fantastic. Pedro is very knowledgeable about the route, the terrain, what conditions are safe and the best techniques to mitigate for icy, snowy terrains etc. He also knew everything about the areas history, culture, traditions, wildlife etc. He was very patient and also kept up the motivation on what is a very demanding route. Miguel was our porter. He is a stoic quiet man but funny, and friendly. Miguel has some fantastic stories too. He is a trained mountain rescuer so I felt very safe with him accompanying us on some of the more challenging passes. The route itself was difficult and risky in places, but enjoyable. It is not for the faint hearted but the risk was rewarded with amazing views. Recommendations for the tour opporator would be to send the itinerary in English and perhaps a packing list.
- Patagonia Hiking
The G adventure tour is excellent. The trip was great because of excellent program and great CEO from G adventure. Starting from Buenos Arias, everything is planned and taking care of. We had excellent weather, a great group of adventure minded people. Val (our CEO from G adventure) communicated everything ahead of time and making sure everyone's needs were met. The sighs and hiking were great. Val reserved dinner for the group almost everyday so we could have fun after a hard day of hiking. All in all, a trip to remember.
- Patagonia Trekking: El Chaltén – 3 Days
As I travelled out of season Unu Raymi kindly at my request organised a guide for me for 2 days in el chalten with whom I hiked to Pliegue de Tumbado and Laguna Los Tres. I was very glad to have a guide for Pliegue de Tumbado as there were very few people there out of season (and I was a solo traveller). Luis was very patient, friendly and kind and told me lots about the nature and the park. He guided us very carefully through the snow and thanks to him I was able to enjoy a hike I wouldn't have otherwise (as the trail was totally covered with snow) and I got much more from it than just hiking by myself. We also hiked los tres together (on which there are many more people) via the rio electrico route at his suggestion which turned out to be a great idea. We enjoyed views of fitzroy from all different angles and had a fun day. He guided me carefully through the snowy areas at the top of fitzroy and taught me how to use crampons and poles (since it was my first time using these) so while many others fell on the way I was happy not to! Luis was very flexible, allowing us to choose the days with best weather and giving me great suggestions of new paths to try on the other days. For me it was perfect as I was very hesitant about hiking alone. Organisation was very smooth and easy by whatsapp and I wouldnt hesitate to use again.

"My first time in South America traveling alone, I was lost between all the different options for the tours online. I came on UnuRaymi’s website by accident and wrote to them on WhatsApp. They were incredibly responsive and took the time to structure the perfect tour for me. Starting at Lima, all the way to Cusco, the rainbow mountain, the amazon jungle and Machu Picchu, I felt very well taken care of and I would recommend them to anyone trying to travel to Peru !

"There were so many problems with this tour that it's difficult to list them all. First, this was not really a tour at all. Rather, Aborigen is a useless middle-man that provides no value. They simply book vouchers for you, and then you're on your own, unsupported. There is no tour group. My wife and I never heard from Aborigen unless we asked. For instance, there was no information provided regarding rental equipment needed, what to do with bags, weather, the necessity for guides, etc. We did not receive any details until days before the trip, after pressing for information ourselves. Second, Aborigen changed the itinerary just days before the trip started. Aborigen replaced around $1,500 (each!) worth of activities with "free days" which we could then fill (and pay for!) ourselves. Third, not only are Aborigen a useless middle-man, but they actually act against their clients' interests. For instance, we realized one day that we didn't need a $500 (yes, $500!) guide for a simple 1-day hike, so we asked Aborigen to obtain a refund from the local provider in accordance with the refund policy. Aborigen refused to answer our calls, refused flatly to refund us, told us we were out of time (we weren't), to us to "just be happy" with the services we had (we weren't), told us they had booked the hike 6 months ago (it was only 3 days prior) and ended up calling me "childish" and "unacceptable" when I refused to accept their position. It was only after I spoke to the local provider (which had no problem issuing a refund) that Aborigen agreed to my reasonable request. It bears mentioning that none of the local companies had heard of Aborigen, so that gives you an idea of their lack of status in Patagonia. Aborigen is based in Buenos Aires and is a thousand miles away. Let me be clear - we have done tours around the world, and we are easy and experienced travelers. We rarely leave negative reviews. But trust me, do not do this "tour". You will be left alone and unsupported; they will fail to price the activities properly: you will be forced to pay for your own excursions because Aborigen can't price them properly: and Aborigen will not help when you need it. They are worse than a middle-man: they will actually hinder you and get in your way. Trust us on this one. Patagonia is expensive and difficult enough as it is, so please don't associate with a company like this. The only reason we were able to salvage the "tour" is through our own determination and because of the competence of the local providers, which were mostly excellent. You're better off booking an actual tour, or booking all the items yourself at a fraction of the cost.
