What people love about Argentina Tours in February
- Andean Patagonian Adventure (12 Nights)
A great tour of the key points in Patagonia.
- Patagonia Hiking
Overall, the tour was great and I would highly recommend to others. Regarding the trek to Fitz Roy: It was strenuous as expected and the evening should not have included a dinner meeting at 7:00 PM, which did not give time for return to hotel, shower and regroup for the following day. This night should have been a free night of choice with meals since the pay is out of the client pocket. I did end up eating with a few others who chose not to dine at the meeting time since we showed up at the restaurant later than expected due to details above. There was no seating, which was fine, and we were on our own. Joaquin sensed this and joined us after he dined with the others who made the eating time. Poles should be used on day one of the hike and were not recommended. The first hike is a hike but the second choice is choice and should be noted that poles should be used due to the nature of technical skills and fixed ropes. Regular trekking boots should be worn on day 4 of the visit to the glaciers due to steps as visit sites. Regular tennis shoes were recommended and I am glad that I used boots. The weather was cold and windy and boots are comfortable for this day. An amount for tipping was advised but did not realize the number of different guides used during the tour e.g. van rides with tutorials, rafting. Joaquin's role as organizer was different than the daily guide use and should be noted. I would have budgeted amounts appropriately with this information.
- Antarctica Classic
Absolutely amazing; the tour was so well set up, the expedition crew very passionate about their fields, and we had 7 landings in total in different parts of South Shetlands and the Antarctic Peninsula. I also loved the lectures that were offered on the different types of animals we were likely to see, as well as more broadly on the ecosystem, research in Antarctica etc. My warmest recommendation, if you're looking to set foot in Antarctica and have a lot of fun throughout.
