Wow where to start! This trip has been life changing no word of a lie! Not only was it perfectly planned and ran so smoothly but it was also allowed me to see the best parts of Palawan. We got to full immerse ourselves into Tru Filipino culture right from the start!! Our first stop was Port Barton where we did some incredible island hopping, swam with turtles, had lunch with a local fishing village spent the day with the locals playing basketball. Oh and the food we had was out of this world!! We then headed to one of the most sort after destinations in the world El Nido

TRIP OF A LIFE TIME!! Philippines West tour has my heart! We started off in Manila where I met my travel group and BEST tour guide ever ADMIN DAN ;) who brought us all together. And what an amazing bunch they all are! I cannot be more grateful and honoured to have experienced the places and the people we met along the way! TRUTRAVELS has 100% blown me away with the locations such as Culion, Nacpan Beach in El Nido and a small fishing village in Port Barton for their local history, beauty and culture! One place in particular was a very special experience. On day 7 we hopped on a ferry to Coron and from there left on our 3 day Red Carabao Castaway Camp experience. Living on this small paradise beach and seeing how the local Tagbanua people live and trade was a very eye-opening and humbling experience and one I will truly never forget! We were engaged in many activities with the local people such as learning traditional methods used by many tribes like coffee brewing, weaving and spear fishing which I found very interesting. I cannot thank TruTravels enough for this whole 10 day experience! From the second I arrive till the very moment I left I was 100% taken care of and everything was smooth and hassle free! I felt very safe and the hospitality of every hotel and restaurant we visited I would rate 10/10. Already looking at what TruTravels tour to book next!! Ps the food was AMAZING ;)

The Sagada and Banaue Rice Terraces tour stands out as Luzon Island's must-do experience, with our TourRadar customers consistently giving it high marks. Local farmers have carved these Ifugao Rice Terraces into the mountains over many generations, creating both a cultural landmark and excellent spots for photography. There's something quite special about the Hanging Coffins in Sagada too - they add a really unique cultural layer to the trip. Our guide Zohan gets lots of positive mentions; travelers say he weaves local stories and traditions together in a way that helps them feel genuinely connected to each place. If you're planning when to visit, our travelers find December through February works best - it's the dry season, the terraces are a rich green and you can easily explore the mountain paths.
See all Luzon Island toursOn Palawan Island, TourRadar customers keep telling us about two experiences they really love. The Underground River is pretty special - it's a UNESCO site where you can float through caves filled with fascinating limestone formations. Then there's Coron, where our travelers spend days in the water with sea turtles, swimming through hidden lagoons and spotting all sorts of marine life. What really makes these trips memorable is how naturally they mix water activities with genuine local connections - many guests tell us about their conversations with Filipino villagers and seeing daily life in the communities firsthand.

See all Active toursFor explorers seeking authentic Philippine experiences, several standout tours offer unique combinations of island life and cultural immersion. The most comprehensive options run 10-17 days, taking you through Manila's vibrant streets before heading to pristine locations in Palawan. Our travelers particularly love the balance between organized activities and free time in Port Barton, where you can swim with sea turtles and visit local fishing communities. The tours that include El Nido receive excellent feedback for their mix of adventure and relaxation - you'll kayak through hidden lagoons, zoom between beaches on ziplines and learn traditional Filipino cooking from local families. Some tours extend to Bohol's countryside, where you'll discover the Chocolate Hills and meet tiny tarsiers at a sanctuary. The most thorough explorer packages continue to Cebu and Boracay, combining historical sites with opportunities to interact with local communities and enjoy some of Asia's finest beaches.

Based on feedback from our travelers, INTRO Travel runs a really tight ship - they've got their logistics sorted and put travelers up in solid accommodations. The Group Leaders know their stuff inside out which makes a big difference to the overall experience. One Life Adventures has built something special in the Philippines. They take you camping on a private island in Coron which isn't something you'll find elsewhere. What stands out is how they've developed genuine relationships with Filipino communities over time, so you're not just passing through but actually connecting with local life and culture. Do You Travel gets mixed reviews on TourRadar when it comes to where they put people up for the night - some travelers weren't too happy with the accommodation choices. That said, their guide Jovian Orlina clearly knows how to bring a group together and show off the country's natural beauty. The scenery itself consistently impresses travelers and the positive group atmosphere seems to make up for any hotel disappointments.

"I don’t think we could have asked for a better tour leader than Kyle to navigate us through not one, but two typhoons. Despite the surprise typhoons Kyle kept the vibes positive with his karaoke, dancing and personality. Where some activities were cancelled by the coastguard, Kyle arranged alternatives so that we were still able to have a great time as a group. I used this as the beginning of my philippines travel, meaning I was able to carry on exploring with friends I made from the group. Kyle’s travel knowledge was also incredible meaning that he was giving advice for destinations past the end of our Intro tour. We also had Alex join our tour as a leader and he was a fantastic addition to our tour group. His friendly and positive attitude meant that he was always checking in and ensuring the group was having a good time! The trip itself removes all the stress of making decision while travelling, letting you just enjoy the experience and make lots of friends with others on the tour. I would recommend this tour to others, and I look forward to booking another tour with Intro!

"Tour guides and drivers were friendly and knowledgeable. The itinerary outlined a great list of adventures, which is why we booked it however on Cebu city tour our guide only took us to 2 of the places listed on the itinerary and we had to pay entrance fees to the garden. Also the hostels do not provide early breakfast which was also supposed to be included for the travel ferry days. The team did make it easy for tour date modifications, however communication was lacking when we were not aware of needing to rebook our ferry ride with a fee, additional port fees, and needing to pay cash for hotel deposit during check-in. A guide on how to navigate at the port would have been helpful.

Best places to start your Philippines tour
Most of our Philippines tours start from Manila - about 58 travelers begin there. Others kick off from Cebu City, Puerto Princesa, Bohol and also Singapore, though these aren't as common. Looking at our booking data, you'll want to lock in your spot around 2 months ahead (63 days to be exact), especially during peak season when island hopping tours fill up fast. The dry season from December to May works best, with March to May giving you the most reliable weather for getting out on the water. Christmas time is particularly special - the Philippines goes all out with months of celebrations, festivals and local traditions. If you're after something different, try catching the Sinulog Festival in Cebu during January or time your visit with Moalboal's sardine run, where millions of fish create this incredible natural show. You can find better deals and quieter spots during June or November in the shoulder season, just be ready to be a bit flexible with weather-dependent activities.
Discover Philippines tours for every budget

Fourth in line is a well-planned Manila-Bohol-Cebu circuit with boutique hotels throughout, while the fifth option takes you through Banaue's rice fields and Sagada's caves with expert guides and excellent accommodation all the way.

Our solo travelers keep telling us how much they love the Philippines Island Explorer tour - it's amazing how quickly people make friends while swimming with huge schools of sardines in Moalboal or tackling the canyoneering routes together. The Philippines West tour has this really welcoming atmosphere where solo guests naturally connect while exploring Port Barton's quiet beaches and spending time with local tribes learning traditional crafts. Up north, walking through the rice terraces and checking out those fascinating hanging coffins in Sagada gives everyone plenty to talk about. TruTravels runs these great 3-day boat trips between Coron and El Nido where solo travelers particularly enjoy the social vibe on board. There's also this well-planned Palawan route that gives you independence while taking care of all the tricky logistics - perfect when you want some structure but also your own space.
The couples who travel with us really go for tours that mix laid-back beach time with cultural experiences. Our most complete route kicks off in Manila then takes you to Boracay's white sand beaches and through Bohol's scenic countryside. Another favorite focuses on Palawan where couples love staying in those traditional beach huts during the Coron to El Nido island-hopping journey. Our fourth option runs through Bohol and Panglao combining countryside tours, marine life encounters and also quiet beach moments. The fifth tour starts with Manila's historical sites before heading to El Nido's hidden corners where couples get those perfect sunset moments.

Spring really shines in the Philippines from March to May - it's when the water conditions are at their best. Our most complete routes run 10-13 days and blend Manila's old quarters with plenty of time in Palawan. The feedback we get is fantastic about the canyoneering near Cebu and swimming with sea turtles in water so clear it seems invisible. Some travelers opt for our western Palawan focus where you'll camp on empty beaches, pick up spearfishing tips from local tribes and zip between islands on some pretty exciting cable rides. If diving's your thing, we've got tours that start with Bohol's main spots before heading to Panglao where you can dive the rich waters around Balicasag Island. There's also a nice balance in our Cebu City tour that mixes urban discoveries with quiet time on white sand beaches - giving you both culture and coastal time.
