- Laos Dirty Motorcycle Tour to Viengthong, Viengxay, Phonsavanh, Vang Vieng, Plain of Jars, Xaisomboune
7 day Nothern Laos Motorcycle tour. Mr Dong was excellent to deal with in setting this up for us. Four of us old guys from NZ (late 60's early 70's with mostly road bike and some gravel experience) did the 7 day tour of Northern Laos starting in Luang Prabang. The CFR250 arrived in morning and were well maintained. These bikes proved excellent for this tour as there was dirt, gravel as well as pavement with potholes to negotiate. Yee our guide was excellent. He had a good grasp of English as well as a sense of humour and fitted in well with our group. He was ever willing to provide information on Laos culture and went out of his way to visit schools where we gave out soccer balls, school stationery etc and stop off at villages where we met the locals. He was a proficient dirt rider and always checked our progress to ensure our safety. I would recommend to do this tour in their Winter from December when a bit drier as it would be technically very challenging in wet. We had our luggage transported daily to our accommodation by truck. The country up North is very rugged with endless mountain passes and switchbacks providing excellent riding. The 250c bikes were good at carving through the traffic (lots of trucks). As its up high in altitude the mornings can be cold but the days were mostly between 20-25C so very pleasant in a mesh jacket. Recommend mx boots and gear for this type of riding (we provided our own). For this particular trip I would recommend extending it 1 additional day to stay in Vang Vieng to do the tubing. This was an excellent trip and all of us felt one of the best we have ever had. Thanks Mr Dong!
- 9-Day Explore Northern to Southern Laos and the 4000 Islands
This was a beautiful experience in a wonderful rural setting a short drive from the centre of town. There’s plenty of opportunity to try all stages of rice production and get really involved! Who knew it was such hard work and took such effort. Our guide Sai was great and taught us so much in a fun, informative and practical way. We didn’t stay for lunch but enjoyed the snacks provided. We loved this experience
- Cross-Border Adventure: Vientiane to Chiang Rai 9-Day
"Overall" should be 5 stars (cannot get back to correct). This tour was packed with site visits and activities and addressed our interests exactly. All the logistics worked perfectly. Hotels had some quirks but were in good locations and had character - good 3 star accommodation. The two guides were excellent - knowledgeable, and very supportive. We consider this tour to have been very good value for money, and it was a pleasant surprise to find that it was just the two of us plus guide and driver
