What people love about Cliffs Of Moher Tours
- Irish Explorer
See all the main highlights of Ireland! Perfect for first timers!
- 7-Day Ireland to Island Small Group Tour of Ireland
What a blast! We loved our tour with this company. We chose it because of the trip to Skellig Michael. We are massive Star Wars fans and this was definitely on our bucket list coming to Ireland. The rest of the trip was also out of this world. We cannot believe how much we managed to see in a week. One of the highlights of the trip was our guide! He was so funny and was so patient with us when we wanted to make pit stops and gave us some fun recommendations at every town. Thanks for a great trip. I will treasure my memories forever.
- Treasures of Ireland (End Shannon, 6 Days)
The trip iprovided an excellent opportunity to see major sites and learn about Irish culture and traditions. I especially liked the Mussrock Farm and dinner there. All the music was fabulous too.
What our customers ask about Cliffs of Moher Tours & Trips
What is the best time to visit the Cliffs of Moher to avoid crowds?
Visit before 11am or after 4pm when the crowds thin out at these iconic Irish cliffs. Tour operators like Wild N' Happy plan their visits during these quieter hours. The spring months of March through May and fall season from September to November offer a sweet spot of fewer tourists and favorable weather conditions. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "Our guide had a secret superpower for avoiding crowds!" when visiting the cliffs during off-peak hours.
What are the best nearby attractions to combine with a visit to the Cliffs of Moher?
The surrounding region offers several notable stops. Doolin village draws visitors with its authentic Irish music scene while The Burren's stark limestone terrain provides a geological contrast to the cliffs. Boat tours depart regularly offering sea-level perspectives of the cliff face. The medieval Bunratty Castle and Folk Park adds historical context to any visit. As noted by a TourRadar traveler: "We loved combining the cliffs visit with exploring the Burren and enjoying traditional music in Doolin's pubs." The Killarney Plaza Hotel serves as a convenient base for exploring these sites.
What are the unique wildlife viewing opportunities at the Cliffs of Moher?
One of Ireland's largest seabird colonies calls these cliffs home. Visitors can spot puffins between April and July along with year-round residents like guillemots razorbills and peregrine falcons. The visitor center provides detailed wildlife viewing information. According to a TourRadar traveler: "We spent hours watching seabirds soaring through the clear air while our guide explained about the unique ecosystem." Lahinch Lodge guests often start early for prime bird watching.
How high are the Cliffs of Moher and what's the best viewpoint?
The cliffs reach 702 feet (214 meters) at their highest point and extend for 5 miles along Ireland's western coast. A TourRadar traveler suggests "O'Brien's Tower offered the most spectacular panoramic views of the entire cliff range." Multiple viewing platforms dot the cliff walk with the area near O'Brien's Tower marking the highest elevation. Tours stopping at The Inn at Dromoland regularly include these prime viewing locations.
Are there facilities at the Cliffs of Moher?
The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience provides modern amenities including clean restrooms a café serving local dishes and an educational exhibition center. A TourRadar traveler shares "The visitor center is well-organized with great facilities and interesting exhibits about the cliffs' formation." Free WiFi indoor viewing areas and full accessibility features make visits comfortable in any weather. Tours often incorporate stops at nearby establishments like O'Connor's Pub in Doolin for additional conveniences.
