We were very happy to take part in this tour. Everything was well organized and all the land services were perfectly timed. The Greek Islands really deliver what our travelers hope for - those perfect waters meeting white-sand beaches in Mykonos, Paros and also Naxos, while Santorini's caldera puts on a golden sunset show that photos can't quite capture. Our customers particularly love sailing through the Cyclades, where each day brings them to new harbors and quiet coves they wouldn't find otherwise. The local experiences make these trips special too - you can join Greek families for cooking classes, explore villages where traditional life continues unchanged and spend your evenings in family-run tavernas tasting today's catch with regional wines. History comes alive at Athens' ancient Acropolis, giving you a real sense of classical times. Each island has its own personality, whether you're finding hidden beaches only boats can reach, walking among centuries-old ruins scattered across the landscape, or diving into clear waters to explore old shipwrecks and colorful marine life.
See all Greek Islands toursGreece's mainland delivers a perfect mix of ancient sites and wild landscapes. The Acropolis dominates Athens' skyline - our travelers often spend half a day exploring its archaeological treasures before diving into the excellent modern museum right below. Head north and you'll find the monasteries of Meteora balanced on massive rock pillars, a sight that stops visitors in their tracks every time. For those who love to get moving, the Zagori area opens up fantastic hiking possibilities through the Vikos Gorge and up to Dragon Lake, where the still waters mirror the mountain peaks perfectly.
See all Mainland Greece toursSoak up the sun on Rhodes' sandy beaches, stroll through the medieval Old Town, and uncover the history of the ancient city of Kamiros. Dive into the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea or visit the stunning Monastery of St. John.
See all Aegean Islands toursThe Cyclades deliver exactly what Greek island dreams are made of - just ask our regular travelers. Mykonos comes into its own after dark, with winding white alleyways filled with social buzz, while Santorini offers those caldera views that somehow manage to outdo even the best photos at sunset. Our customers keep talking about the volcano cruise in Santorini, where you'll sail directly into one of the Mediterranean's most active volcanic areas. What really works about these island-hopping trips is how they mix guided activities and free time, letting you explore at your own pace and fall into that easy Greek island lifestyle. If you're looking to dodge the summer crowds, aim for April-May or September-October - the weather's perfect for exploring and you'll get more genuine interactions with locals.

Looking at the feedback from our travelers in Greece, Travel Zone stands out for getting the basics right - they handle transfers smoothly and stay in good contact with guests. What really catches my attention though is Intrepid's approach, where guides like Rita Hajdu and Fotis Angelopoulos make a real difference by sharing local insights and keeping their groups running well. Wonderful Holidays does solid work with the logistics and picks good hotels, which matters a lot for honeymooners wanting everything to run smoothly. They could probably add a few more excursions to round out their packages, based on what couples have told us. Dot Travel Greece is a bit more of a mixed bag. While some people appreciate their punctuality and how they organize things, others have run into issues with certain hotels not meeting expectations and some surprise costs popping up along the way. For anyone planning a Greek trip right now, I'd lean toward Travel Zone or Intrepid. They consistently deliver what they promise, and the personal touches from their guides really help you connect with the places you're visiting. Plus, having clear communication makes such a difference when you're trying to coordinate everything in a foreign country.

"The bus I was assigned to broke down and therefore I was reassigned to another bus and tour guide. She was very knowledgeable - that was not the issue. The bus breaking down was not a problem either. However, I am disabled and have mobility issues (specifically, as of late I'm still recovering from right knee surgery). I took all the measures I could before traveling to Greece. I packed necessary pain medication, ice packs, took and used my cane daily during the tour and even got a steroid shot 10 days before travel to mitigate any issues. But the tour guide had an issue with me sitting in the front seat (behind the driver) during the week-long tour -- which in my experience is designated for people with disabilities anyway. I live in the United States, have a disabled placard and documentation with me should she had requested to see sit after I explained sitting there allowed me to travel more comfortably and rest/stretch my leg in between stops. Moreover, I sat there for several reasons: 1) My siblings and I were the last to be dropped off at hotels and therefore, the first to be picked up in the morning; 2) Sitting there allowed me to stretch my leg comfortably which helped improve circulation before/after walking on uneven pavement for hours a day and 3) I was not bothering anyone -- not the bus driver in front of me or her next to me. Well, she felt inclined to reassign me (she said she wanted passengers to take turns sitting there) and I had to sit on the very last row of the bus -- which caused me a lot of discomfort and pain. I think other passengers must have expressed concern for my wellbeing (after seeing me hobble to the back of the bus) because she then said, "You can sit in front of the bus to stretch your leg". Well, too little too late! I took pain medication to ease my severe discomfort which made me drowsy and sleepy for what was left of the tour. I travel internationally every year -- and sadly was VERY disappointed with Tour Radar. My brother suggested we try Tour Radar this time around. But I should have insisted on going with Go Ahead Tours to visit Greece. We have traveled with Go Ahead Tours in the past, a total of 7 times -- and they know how to treat their customers. She was knowledge in Greek history for sure -- but impolite. Please note, other passengers expressed the same sentiment to me during the tour.

Best places to start your Greece tour
Athens stands out as the main gateway for Greece tours, with 93 of our customers starting their trips from here. You can also begin from Heraklion, Santorini and Mykonos, though these are less common choices. Looking at our booking patterns, it's smart to lock in your tour about 4 months ahead - specifically 127 days before departure. This becomes especially important during summer when popular island routes get booked up fast. Our travelers typically suggest taking at least a week to properly see both mainland history and island destinations, though two weeks gives you more room to discover lesser-known spots and really connect with local life. If you're watching your budget, look at traveling during shoulder season when hotel prices drop quite a bit, but the weather stays nice for both exploring sites and enjoying the beaches.
Discover Greece tours for every budget
Several Greece tours help you see the major sites without stretching your budget. The 4-day Classical tours cover mainland must-sees like Mycenae, Olympia and also Delphi by choosing practical hotels and efficient routes. Our travelers really connect with the guided visits to the Temple of Zeus and the ancient Olympic stadium. Another solid choice is the 7-day Athens and islands combo - you'll get the Acropolis, Santorini's village walks and time in Mykonos, staying in simple but central hotels. People who've taken these tours tell us they like how everything important is included while leaving free periods to find local restaurants. The 3-4 day island tours focus on Santorini and Mykonos, with optional add-ons like wine tasting and sailing so you can pick what suits your interests.

Group
631 tours in GreeceOur mainland and island combination tours usually run 7-10 days with about 20-30 travelers together. These start in Athens before heading to classical sites like Mycenae, Olympia and then out to the islands. The Greek guides make a real difference - they mix old myths with current culture and our customers often say this brings everything to life. You'll travel by comfortable coach on the mainland and take regular ferries between islands. Even with larger numbers, the guides are great at managing the group while giving you space to explore places like Delphi or Santorini's streets at your own rhythm.
Small Group
260 tours in GreeceThe small group options really shine when you want a closer connection to places and people. Our Cyclades sailing trips take 8-12 guests on traditional or modern yachts for 8-9 days of real island discovery. The 9-day food tours keep it intimate with 8-16 people, visiting small producers, family wineries and local food markets. Travelers especially enjoy making traditional rizogalo in Aegina and learning about local pistachio growing. Walking tours cap at 12-15 people over 14 days, mixing popular sites with quiet island trails, plus chances to swim in mineral springs and chat with villagers.

Week-long Greek tours come in two distinct flavors - classic routes through mainland historical sites or sailing trips around the islands. The land-based tours take you from Athens through Olympia, Delphi and also Meteora's monasteries, with guides who bring ancient stories to life. If you choose sailing, you'll weave through the Cyclades, dropping anchor in quiet coves near Amorgos and exploring Syros' traditional villages. Our guests often praise the local skippers who know exactly when to visit each spot without hitting peak crowds. These tours suit active travelers who like mixing cultural visits with swimming spots and genuine taverna meals.

See all toursWith 10 days in Greece, you get proper time to explore both mainland highlights and island culture. These trips blend Athens' historical sites with longer stays in Santorini and also Mykonos. What works especially well is the balance - you might join a morning volcano cruise in Santorini's caldera, then spend your afternoon finding your own favorite spots in Fira. Our travelers tell us they love having enough time to really get to know each place, from Mykonos' Little Venice to finding that perfect swimming spot on Naxos. You'll stay in well-located hotels and the ferry connections are thoughtfully planned.

You'll visit less-touristed islands like Syros and Paros alongside the famous spots, walking old Byzantine paths filled with wild herbs, visiting traditional loukoumi sweet makers and learning local recipes in cooking classes. Our customers love how the tours mix active mornings on coastal trails to hidden beaches with laid-back afternoons in village squares. The relaxed pace means you can join optional boat trips around volcanic islands or simply watch harbor life from local cafes.

Our 7-day sailing and yoga trips through the Saronic Islands work really well if you're traveling solo - the small groups click together naturally and quickly feel like a little family. You'll do yoga twice each day in lovely spots, swim in quiet coves and pick up sailing basics from experienced captains. There's also an excellent 8-day route through Naxos and Santorini where the guides are pros at getting everyone connected through shared meals and local activities. They know exactly which tavernas welcome solo diners and where to find the good spots to mix with locals and other travelers. What makes it work so smoothly is having skippers who can adjust the route based on weather and what the group wants while keeping things relaxed and making sure everyone feels included.
The 10-day Athens-Mykonos-Santorini route really hits the sweet spot for couples, mixing guided history tours with plenty of time to yourselves. You'll explore the Acropolis together, then have evenings free to discover little restaurants in Plaka. When you get to the islands, you'll catch sunset views in Oia, taste wines in traditional Santorini cellars and walk through Mykonos' prettiest streets with local guides. There's also a popular 8-day Athens to Santorini option with private transfers and carefully picked hotels overlooking the caldera. These routes work because they get the mix right - you get proper guided tours at the important sites but also plenty of free time to wander and make your own discoveries.
Our mature travelers give top marks to the Classical Greece tours, especially the 7-day mainland circuit covering Delphi, Olympia and Meteora at an easy pace. The guides are really skilled at making ancient history come alive while making sure everyone can take in each site properly. There's also a nice 5-7 day Athens and Santorini combination using easy ferry connections and hotels picked for good access and location. The schedule works well - you might visit the Acropolis in the morning, then take time over a long lunch in Plaka. Our customers really value having local guides who can adjust the walking speed while sharing deep knowledge about Greek history and culture.
