Budget Tours & Trips to Cambodia And Vietnam Reviews
- Cambodia to Vietnam: Night Markets & Noodle-Making
I would 100% recommend this tour. It was the best time, amazing guide, amazing people, loads of fun. The accommodation was much better than I anticipated and the transportation was great, with 3 overnight trains that get easier and easier every time - don't worry! We had a small group of 5 people but there was a larger group of 18 who started the same day as us and so we did everything as one combined group such as activities, dinners and nights out which was great but we also had the extra privilege of having our own bus for our small group when we were travelling from place to place which meant we could stretch out and relax on long journeys. I went on this tour as a solo traveller and before leaving I was so nervous and worried about it all, but that literally went away as I soon as I started talking to others on the tours. Just think that everyone who decides to do these tours are like minded people and so you are all bound to get along! I have made amazing friends and have already booked my next Gadventures tour with one of the people I met! The one thing I would say to consider is doing the Indochina in depth tour instead of the Cambodia and Vietnam on a shoestring as they are combined tours and so most people stayed on an extra 10 days to do Laos and Thailand. I regretted not booking the longer one as I didn't want to leave the group after Vietnam! But it was still amazing and if you only have 20 days or only want to do Cambodia and Vietnam then you'll still have the time of your life. Definitely go ahead and book!
- Fantastic of Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in 16 Days - Halong Bay/ Hoi An/ Siem Reap/ Phuket
Hello...my wife and I just arrived back after a fantastic 16 day tour to Vietnam,Cambodia and Thailand.firstly I have to say what an amazing time & experience we have had.i have to thank Dat & the team for doing an amazing job.We we're there for 26 days in total with Dat supporting us throughout by being extremely flexible in helping us and working around our own agenda which we had alongside that of our tour with Tour Radar and Prestigo.Every element of the tour was perfect with every car, speedboat, ferry, hotel and aeroplane being there when they were supposed to be at any time of day or night.every driver guide and trip was exactly what we expected or exceeded our expectations.suffice to say we had far more highlights than we could document but I would recommend this tour with Tour Radar and prestigo to anyone from as it says 2 to 92 .we're retired and on a pension but with the support we had it felt as if we were independent travellers but with Dat and the team in the background if needed . Thank you so much and we'll be looking at other tours these guys have very soon. . Many Thanks Ann & Graham

What our customers ask about Budget Tours & Trips to Cambodia and Vietnam
What are the best budget-friendly areas to stay in Cambodia and Vietnam?
The bustling Old Quarter of Hanoi offers wallet-friendly spots like HM Boutique Hotel with convenient access to local life. Budget travelers often choose Ho Chi Minh City's lively Pham Ngu Lao district home to the practical Elios Saigon Hotel. In Siem Reap the Wat Bo area provides good value with options like City River Hotel though some travelers note it requires extra walking to main attractions. According to a TourRadar guest: "The hotels were well positioned with everything nearby although the Cambodian hotel was a bit far from everything."
When is the most affordable time to visit Cambodia and Vietnam?
Travel costs drop significantly during April-June and September-November. Hotels like Rosaleen Boutique in Hue and King Grand Boutique in Phnom Penh offer better rates during these months. Prices peak from December to February when crowds arrive. A TourRadar traveler notes: "I went in December to somewhat avoid the humidity although it was cool on the upper deck of the boat. You will need a hoodie or something with long sleeves."
How much should I budget for local transportation when not included in the tour?
Daily transportation costs run about 5-10 USD. Getting around Siem Reap by tuk-tuk costs 2-3 USD per ride while Ho Chi Minh City motorbike taxis charge 1-2 USD. Longer routes like Phnom Penh to Siem Reap by bus cost 6-8 USD. One TourRadar guest shared: "Transportation was well planned and organized though some long bus journeys could be upgraded to flights for convenience."
What is the average daily budget needed for meals not included in budget tours?
Set aside 15-20 USD daily for meals outside the tour package. While tours cover breakfast and select lunches or dinners especially during Halong Bay cruises or Mekong Delta trips local food costs vary. Street food in Hanoi's Old Quarter or Siem Reap runs 2-5 USD while basic restaurants charge 5-10 USD per meal. A TourRadar traveler notes: "Not as many meals included in Thailand so I needed more spending money than anticipated but the experience was worth every penny."
Are entrance fees to major attractions included in budget tour prices?
Most tour packages cover key sites like Angkor Wat (37 USD) Cu Chi Tunnels (10 USD) and Halong Bay (13 USD). Extra activities such as the Hanoi Water Puppet Show (6 USD) or additional temple visits cost extra. A TourRadar guest confirms: "All entrance fees were included for the main sites but there were plenty of optional activities available if you wanted to do more."
What type of accommodation can I expect on budget tours through Cambodia and Vietnam?
Budget tours balance comfort with value offering clean basic rooms in hostels guesthouses and hotels. Properties range from HM Boutique Hotel in Hanoi to City River Hotel in Siem Reap. A TourRadar traveler shares: "the accommodation exceeded my expectations and was very nice." Experiences include overnight train rides in 4-berth sleeper cabins and traditional Mekong Delta homestays giving travelers an authentic taste of local life.
What's the typical group size for budget tours in Cambodia and Vietnam?
Tours usually host 12-16 travelers balancing cost efficiency with personal attention. As one TourRadar participant shared: "Our group of 15 was perfect - small enough to get to know everyone but big enough to keep tour costs reasonable. We had great group dynamics which made the journey even more special."
