Ship Overview

The sailing ship s/v Maia is a classic sailing yacht with lots of charm and comfort.

As with all sailing trips, flexibility and team spirit are essential for a successful cruise experience on board the s/v Maia. Assistance on board is permitted and encouraged; depending on the nature of the trip, it may also be mandatory.

Sailing with Maia is like traveling back in time. A sailing trip on this rare specimen is an unforgettable adventure combined with maximum safety and exclusivity. The Maia was built in Bristol in 1978 and sails throughout Europe. Its special construction makes this small sailing yacht unique: The hull is made of indestructible submarine steel – a rust-proof, anti-magnetic copper-nickel alloy. Its sophisticated design allows it to be used in even the most adverse waters – even in the polar seas.

At 20 meters long, the s/v Maia is the ideal yacht for comfortable and safe accommodation for up to 10 people (including crew). The vessel is compact and small enough to reach even the most secluded bays.

Features

On board the s/v Maia, comfortable double cabins (bunk beds or double beds) are available, and the three bathrooms/toilets are shared. In daily life on board, the luxurious, light-filled deck saloon is the focal point of the cruise. From here, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the anchorage, the marina, or even the sunset on the horizon as the s/v Maia glides gently through the seas. Depending on the weather and sailing conditions, passengers can find additional retreats on deck, whether for sunbathing on the teak deck or enjoying a sociable sundowner at the spacious cockpit table.
