- Grand Egyptian GEMs: Hidden Pyramids and the Nile - Return Flight Included - 9 Days
Excellent tour! Beyond the Nile tours was in touch with me before I went to go over any questions I had. When I arrived in Cairo Ayman contacted me immediately about my tour. He told me I was the only one on my tour ( I wanted to be with others) so he put me with another group. Great decision. Ayman also took care of arranging flights, booking additional tours and getting my covid test to name a few. Everything was taken care of. Everyone with Beyond the Nile tours took such good care of me I could not have asked for more. Being a solo woman traveler I felt very safe .
- Nile Adventure - Felucca cruise
Meena was incredible, I did the Egypt Experience tour and he was perfect. Not only was he very knowledgeable about everything we visited but he is also very funny and joined us in dinners and games. It really felt like we were guided by a friend during the trip. He's one of the best tour guides I've every had.
- Egypt Explorer - Felucca cruise & Red Sea
It was about a year ago now, that I did the Egypt Explorer Tour with Expat Egypt. I was about to embark on a journey to Egypt - a woman alone in an Arab country. Everything looked amazing and the value for money was unbelievable, and I remember reading through similar reviews as the one I am about to write here, with a feeling of mistrust and apprehension, not sure what to expect, or how contrived they were. It turned out to be one of the best holidays ever, and without a doubt the best value for money. The tour company is professional and punctual. George and Sam were always there to assist us at the drop of a hat. Our guide Wael was amazing, always ready to enrich us with his knowledge. He was not just a guide, he became an endearing member of our group. Our group was a melting pot of fun people from around the world. The experiences were wonderful and truely unique. The train ride from Ciaro to Aswan should definitely be done in a sleeper carriage. Aswan is lovely! I would recommend one night on the felucca. The Nile is just fantastic! The Nubian village was a blast, from food to fake tattoos. The Red Sea was a highlight for me... apart from ofcourse hot-air-ballooning over the Hatshepsot Temple. I would truely recommend this tour to anyone, whether you are traveling alone or in a group. I met wonderful people, made life-long friends. It was a truely amazing and enlightening experience and real value for money!

The Nile Valley holds Egypt's richest historical sites along the river that made this ancient civilization possible. Our guests love exploring the Giza pyramids and Great Sphinx, walking where pharaohs once ruled. You'll find remarkable artifacts in Cairo's Egyptian Museum, while the temples at Luxor and Karnak show off engineering that's lasted thousands of years. Nile cruises really let you soak in the experience - go upscale on a Dahabiya with private cabins and chef-prepared meals, or join a traditional felucca crew where you'll navigate the river and sleep beneath desert stars. Temple visits are particularly good for photos in early morning light, especially at Hatshepsut and Abu Simbel, plus Karnak's evening illuminations give these ancient structures a completely different character.
See all Nile Valley toursExplore the heart of ancient Egyptian history in the Valley of the Kings. Discover the secrets of the pharaohs as you roam through elaborate tombs. Check out the grandeur of Tutankhamun's final resting place and be amazed by the hieroglyph-covered walls.
See all Valley Of The Kings toursThe Nile cruise delivers Egypt's ancient sites directly to you as you glide along this historically rich waterway. Our guests often tell us their favorite stops include the Valley of the Kings with its detailed pharaonic tombs and Karnak Temple's impressive columns. The route takes you to Philae Temple and also Abu Simbel - both representing remarkable feats of engineering since they were completely moved to protect them from rising waters. What really makes these trips special are guides like Alaa, Abbas, Mohamed and also Ahmed who share detailed historical stories you won't find in any guidebook. We hear again and again from our travelers about those magical sunrise views across the Nile Valley, and they love the authentic Nubian entertainment in the evenings. For the most comfortable weather to explore these sites, plan your trip between October and April.

The Nile cruise trips are some of our most booked Egyptian holidays with several routes running between Aswan and Luxor. Our 4-5 day cruises use comfortable 5-star boats and come with proper Egyptologist guides who really know their stuff. You'll catch sunrise at Abu Simbel, explore Philae Temple in the afternoon and see Karnak lit up at night. What's nice is how you can relax on deck between stops - maybe watch local farmers working their fields in the morning before heading off to explore temples later. Our customers often mention how brilliant it is having guides who can actually read the hieroglyphics and explain what everything means. The food onboard is properly Egyptian though quite a few travelers suggest being a bit careful with the buffets.

Top operators in Egypt
Three tour companies really stand out when our travelers talk about their Egypt experiences - Timeless Tours, Expat Explore and Beyond The Nile Tours. What makes these operators special is how well they handle the practical details - getting from place to place without hassle, booking comfortable hotels and making sure you have excellent guides like Michael, Peter and Ayman who know their history inside out. The base tour prices offer good value for what's included, and our customers often mention how much they appreciate having everything organized so smoothly. You'll get the main sites and experiences covered in the standard package. Just keep in mind that add-on activities like special dinners, boat rides or extra site visits can push up your total costs quite a bit. It's worth looking at the optional extras list when you're planning your budget so you know exactly what additional experiences you might want to include. Many travelers tell us these tours exceeded their expectations - the guides bring ancient Egypt to life with their stories and knowledge, the hotels are well-chosen and comfortable, and the whole experience flows naturally from start to finish. The small detail that keeps coming up in reviews is how the guides handle all the local arrangements, which lets you focus on enjoying the experience rather than dealing with logistics. One practical tip our customers often share: factor in around 20-30% on top of the base tour price if you think you'll want to join most of the optional activities. That way you won't have any surprise costs once you're there.

"Beyond the Nile tours are actually Nourbelle tours (local name). Harry the main organiser was informative and not too pushy. The entrance fees were US$125 which is approx 20% mark up if you paid by yourself. There were not many queues so paying yourself is an option but as the whole of my tour paid the entrance fees I felt it was easier to pay upfront and be handed the tickets as we arrived at each site. The tour guide provided an overview at each location then you get about 20ish mins to look around yourself. I paid for the hot air balloon (US$135 which is so expensive, others on the tour arranged it themselves for approx US$90 which I wished I did too). An archeologist was the guide at the pyramids (suggest not paying extra to go inside the main tomb as you can visit inside the kings mothers tomb for free & I imagine it’s a lot less claustrophobic as it’s shorter distance to the tomb room). I opted out of the village tour in Aswan and went to the souk myself which was about 40min walk from the cruise boat. The cruise boat was lovely, but I understand it changes all the time. We visited some temples by night along the river and even had about 8 hours on the boat during the day travelling to Luxor, which was needed after the 4am start time to do the hot air balloon (which wasn’t organised well but another has a wonderful souk that is mostly used by locals but still has tourist items for sale, I walked approx 30mins to it from the boat rather than go to the Nubian village. The boat was high quality and the buffet style meals were nice. Abu Simbel is a must! It’s worth the 4am start to see such a magnificent sight even if you stay for just an hour.

"It was an incredible experience, we could not have had a better guide. The organization was good but many of the extra activities were overpriced and the quality of the hotels and the train left something to be desired. Overall very good but there are things to polish.

"I am so happy I found this tour group and so grateful for a wonderful trip!! Hany from Timeless Tours was so helpful with all of my questions and concerns before and even after the trip. Safety was a top concern but Hany was extremely responsive and indicated how flexible they are should I have wanted to adjust plans! Not only did it feel very safe throughout the trip but I had a blast on the Luxor hot air balloon (and of course loved all of the temples and sites)! After the safety concerns, the next thing I appreciated most about this trip was how small the group was. My group was only 6-9 people during the 10 day trip but we periodically combined with different people from another small group and this was very enjoyable! (I am still texting regularly with many of these friends & we hope to meet up again in Egypt and other countries!) I had a terrific time but shared my feedback for improvement and this was taken earnestly. I really appreciate a company that cares about their clients even after payment or transaction is complete. It shows they value their mission, customers and reputation. I had a great time and would love to go on another tour run by Timeless Tours!

Best places to start your Egypt tour
Most of our travelers kick off their Egypt experience in Cairo - about 87 of our recent bookings started right in the capital. While Luxor, Aswan and Hurghada are options too, they're less common starting points. Looking at our booking patterns, people typically lock in their Egypt trips around 5 months ahead (that's 154 days) which really helps with getting those preferred Nile cruise dates and hotel picks, especially in busy seasons. The winter months from October through April tend to be when most people travel since the weather's just right for exploring, but you'll need to book early during these popular months. Summer visitors get smaller crowds and better deals, though you'll want to plan around those hot midday hours. We've found that mixing historical sites with real cultural experiences works best - things like wandering through local markets, watching traditional craftspeople at work and trying authentic Egyptian food. Our travelers often tell us these authentic moments become real highlights of their trip.
Discover Egypt tours for every budget
We've designed our budget Egypt tours to give you the best value while including all the essential experiences. They typically run 7-10 days, taking you through the Pyramids, Sphinx and Cairo's main museums before heading south. The traditional felucca sailing on the Nile is often mentioned as a favorite moment - there's something special about sleeping under the stars and spending time with local Nubian crews. You'll mix hotel stays with overnight trains, though many travelers recommend upgrading to flights between Cairo and Aswan if you can. After the historical sites, you'll get time to snorkel, swim and relax at the Red Sea in Hurghada. Even our budget options include 4-star hotels with pools, buffet breakfasts and proper Egyptologist guides who really bring the history to life.
Luxury Egypt travel takes every element up several notches. You'll be staying at some truly special places - the historic Mena House right by the pyramids, Luxor's Victorian-era Winter Palace and the magnificent Old Cataract in Aswan where Agatha Christie wrote. The Nile portion uses high-end cruise boats with generous suites and really attentive service - our guests particularly love the food and deck areas. We include special experiences like private pyramid-side dinners, exclusive tomb access in the Valley of the Kings and early morning hot air balloon flights over Luxor. The guides make all the difference - these are serious Egyptologists who can read hieroglyphics and make ancient stories feel current. You'll travel by domestic flights instead of overnight trains, keeping things smooth and comfortable.

632 tours in EgyptKeep it small with 5-8 people and you'll get a much more personal take on Egypt. The smaller numbers mean you can explore lesser-known temples, take your time with photos and really dig into the history with questions. We'll take you to places like Howard Carter's house in Luxor, the Roman catacombs in Alexandria and camping in the White Desert. Many trips use traditional dahabiya sailboats on the Nile instead of big cruise ships, so you can stop at small villages and sites that larger groups just can't reach. Our travelers tell us the small group size helps them connect properly with their guides and fellow guests, giving them a deeper look at both ancient and modern Egyptian life.

Top Egypt travel itineraries to fit your plans
Our 7-day Egypt journeys really hit the perfect balance for travelers wanting to see the key sites without rushing. These tours typically start in Cairo with guided visits to the Pyramids and Egyptian Museum before heading south. What makes these routes work so well is how they combine major monuments with authentic experiences - you might find yourself drinking tea in a local home right after exploring Philae Temple. The Nile segment usually runs 3-4 days, where you'll visit Kom Ombo, Edfu and also Karnak temples. Our customers particularly love the optional hot air balloon rides over Luxor at sunrise, though the Abu Simbel day trip comes up as another highlight. The guides really make these tours special - they're proper Egyptologists who can read hieroglyphics and explain everything in fascinating detail.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Cairo, Giza, Aswan, Luxor, Philae, Abu Simbel, Elephantine Island, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Valley of the Kings
See all toursFor those wanting a deeper dive into Egyptian culture and history, our 10-day tours offer more time at each location plus some nice extras. These journeys include everything from the 7-day routes but add meaningful experiences like visiting Memphis (Egypt's first capital), exploring the step pyramids at Saqqara and also spending time in Islamic Cairo. The Nile cruise portion typically runs 4-5 nights, giving you proper time to relax on deck between temple visits. Our travelers particularly value having those extra days - it means early morning temple visits when it's cooler and quieter, followed by afternoon sightseeing once the crowds thin out. Many tours finish with a few days in Hurghada where you can snorkel the Red Sea reefs and also try some water sports.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Cairo, Alexandria, Aswan, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Luxor, White Desert
See all toursOur 14-day Egyptian journeys really let you see the whole picture, from Alexandria's Mediterranean coast right down to the Nubian south. These comprehensive tours include special stops other routes skip - like the White Desert's surreal landscapes where you'll camp under the stars, or day trips to places like Dendera Temple. What makes these longer tours special is how they mix the big historical sites with proper cultural immersion. You might spend a morning exploring tombs in the Valley of the Kings, then join a local family for lunch in their home. The pace is nicely balanced too - you'll typically get 4-5 nights on a Nile cruise, 3-4 days in Cairo and also some beach time in Hurghada. Our travelers often tell us these two-week trips give them time to really understand Egypt rather than just seeing it.
TourRadar recommends visiting:
Cairo, Giza, Aswan, Kom Ombo, Luxor, Hurghada

Solo travelers find real comfort and community on our Egypt group tours. Many solo guests mention feeling instantly welcomed, especially on the felucca sailing trips where the small group size and shared experiences create natural bonds. The 7-10 day itineraries strike a nice balance - you'll get proper time at the main sites while having some independence to explore markets or try local cafes. Our tour leaders make sure everyone's looked after, particularly during transfers and at busy sites. Several customers traveling alone specifically praised the traditional cooking classes, market walks and also evening rooftop gatherings where the group could share stories about their day.
Couples consistently rate our premium Nile cruise experiences among their favorites. Several include romantic touches like sunset dinners overlooking the pyramids, private balconies on the cruise boats and optional hot air balloon rides over Luxor at dawn. The 9-day trips work well for pairs - you get quality time at each stop without feeling rushed. Many couples mention loving the mix of guided tours and free afternoons to wander together through places like Khan el-Khalili bazaar or along Aswan's corniche. The more upscale tours use historic hotels like the Old Winter Palace in Luxor and also the Old Cataract in Aswan, adding some real atmosphere to the journey.
Young adults gravitate toward our more active Egypt itineraries that pack in lots of experiences. The felucca sailing adventures are particularly popular, offering two nights camping along the Nile with swimming stops and barbecue dinners under the stars. These trips typically include time for desert quad biking, camel treks, snorkeling in the Red Sea and also optional scuba diving. The social aspect really works - our younger travelers often mention bonding with their groups during Nubian music nights, cooking classes and shared taxi adventures through Cairo's streets. The guides know how to balance history lessons with fun, keeping things interesting without getting too academic.
Our senior travelers prefer the well-paced luxury tours with proper comfort levels. These typically run 10-12 days, using high-end cruise boats with stabilizers and excellent accessibility. Domestic flights replace long bus rides, and the hotels are chosen for their elevators, good facilities and central locations. The Egyptologist guides are particularly experienced with senior groups - they know when to take breaks, find shady spots for explanations and adjust the walking pace as needed. Many older guests specifically mention appreciating the intimate group sizes, the option to skip certain activities and also having time to really absorb each site without feeling rushed.
For families exploring Egypt together, the longer 9-12 day tours really shine. Our travelers consistently praise the mix of education and fun - kids get fascinated by the mummy rooms at the Egyptian Museum while parents appreciate the expert Egyptologists explaining everything at their level. The Nile cruise portions work particularly well, giving families downtime between temple visits to relax on deck or watch village life along the banks. Several tours include time at Hurghada's Red Sea coast where families can go snorkeling, try some watersports or just enjoy the beach. The Nubian village visits are often highlighted as family favorites, with chances to ride camels, get henna tattoos and share meals with local families.

- Spring 2025
Spring brings ideal conditions for combining historical sites with outdoor experiences. The March-May tours that include the Red Sea portion are especially popular since the water temperature is perfect for snorkeling and diving. Our spring itineraries often start in Cairo then head south via domestic flight rather than overnight train - it's worth the upgrade to maximize your time. Several tours mix a 4-5 day Nile cruise with time in a traditional Nubian village, which our travelers consistently rate as a highlight. The spring routes through Aswan often include sunrise visits to Abu Simbel followed by afternoon felucca rides when the river breeze picks up.

Our most successful summer itineraries start very early each day, usually around sunrise, then break during the intense midday heat. Many include extended time at the Red Sea where you can cool off between historical visits. The air-conditioned cruise ships work particularly well in summer - you'll explore temples early, then retreat to the comfort of the boat while sailing to the next stop. Several tours include evening activities like the Luxor Temple light show and also traditional music performances when temperatures are more comfortable.

The autumn months from September through November hit a sweet spot - the heat has eased but winter crowds haven't arrived. Our fall tours often include extended time in places that can be too hot in summer, like the Valley of the Kings and Abu Simbel. Many combine a traditional felucca sailing with a luxury cruise ship portion, giving you different perspectives on the Nile. The October departures work especially well for photography - you get beautiful golden light at the temples without intense shadows. Several tours include desert camping experiences which are much more comfortable in the moderate fall temperatures, and also longer stays in Aswan where you can really explore the local markets and culture.
