All our guides were very knowledgeable Egyptologists who could answer any possible questions regarding the history of Ancient Egypt. And even more important they were very friendly and amicable people. The company’s representative Ahmed was always available for any organizational questions during the tour and helped us to arrange additional transfers after the tour was over Not all Cruise ships are the same. Ours was M/S Renaissance and it was really good. Great service, very nice food, but only one bottle of water was provided daily free of charge Cabins were very small but cozy. Windows could be wide open so we could watch the peaceful flow of the water very vividly right from our room. We enjoyed our carriage ride in Luxor - if you wish to see real life of real people in Egypt do not give up this optional tour! Also our trip to Nubian village was definitely worth the money. Sailing in a small boat along narrow passages of the Nile River among rocky little islands with all kind of birds around us was very picturesque. And bring sweaters and a jacket with you! The very knowlegeable Egyptologist, Islam, who accompanied us in Upper Egypt not only knew hia stuff but was also such a nice chap , very kind & patient. The organising was great and i felt very well looked after at all times given also that I was a solo traveller. The accommodation on the Nile river cruise was very comfortable and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. This was an experience that made Egypt a wonderful experience. If you are considering the tour arrive in Cairo a day early as there are many early mornings. I participated in all the optional tours except the horse and cart.
