The tour was even better than expected! I experienced so many exciting and beautiful things in just one week and yet there was a balance of enough breaks and free time so it wasn't too much all at once. The tour guide, Susan, was the best and made sure everyone had a good time and everything ran smoothly. As was the driver, Patrick, as well as the cook, Solomon. 10/10 would recommend it to all!

Just being out there on an African Safari was a very special experience for those of us who had never done this before. The Tortilis camps were beyond comfortable and the whole experience was very special.

AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!! I had the best time on my 54 day safari with absolute. Travelling overland allowed us to see spectacular scenery every day, and I can’t believe how many unforgettable experiences we had in this amount of time. A few highlights were ; swimming with dolphins in Zanzibar, Lake Malawi’s village tour, rhino trekking, all the game drives ; especially Etosha, Chobe and South Luangwa (night drive), boating through the okovango delta, and climbing sand dunes in Namibia! Bear in mind these are just highlights, and we did much more! I met some lovely people on the tour, who made the experience what it was, and who I now count as good friends. Our tour guide was also fantastic - being kind, organised and detail oriented (which was massively appreciated), as well and knowledgeable about each place we went. Our guide and absolute also dealt very well with two siblings, who were swiftly removed from the tour due to verbal abuse, racist & homophobic comments. This shows that absolute do really enforce a zero tolerance policy for any of these forms of mistreatment. Rest assured that those siblings were an anomaly though, and everyone else on the tour got on which made two months of living, cooking and cleaning together enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour, and I guarantee you will leave having met amazing people, and having seen the most fab places.
- by EmilyIf you’re thinking about an overland trip in Africa, I wholeheartedly recommend Absolute Africa. My girlfriend and I wouldn’t usually join a tour when travelling and we were a little nervous about it, but we needn’t have been; it was an amazing experience. Of the companies I researched, I liked Absolute because it’s the most flexible (there are lots of routes, and you only pay for the excursions you want). Booking was really smooth, and they give you lots of info to help you prepare for the trip (thanks Sophie!). On the tour itself, the guides and drivers have been fantastic. Big shout outs to Joseph, David, Marvin, Joe, Hesron and Emias. The buses are really nice, with more legroom than I was expecting! Yes there are some long, bumpy drives but honestly it’s quite fun. And all the campsites were great—almost all have had a bar and most have even had swimming pools! To be honest, the only negative I experienced was two of our fellow passengers, who have left negative reviews below. Their comments are completely unfounded from what I experienced. In fact, they were abusive to other tour members—including a 75 year old woman—as well as to our guides. They also said some pretty shocking things about the locals which I won’t share here. They were given a warning, and then almost immediately became abusive again. I personally see it as a huge positive that Absolute intervened and removed them from the trip and that behaviour like that isn’t tolerated. After being told they were being removed they trashed the bus, cut the wires to our fridge and charging point, and smashed a window. It tells you everything you need to know about them. Anyway, to finish on something more positive, some of the highlights for me were the game drives in the Serengeti, South Luangwa, Chobe and Etosha parks; Lake Kariba houseboat; village tour on Lake Malawi; the Okavango Delta; Spitzkoppe; and Sossusvlei.

My biggest concern was that I was the only person under the age of 60yrs old. Since the tour is billed as "16+" I was expecting some older people, but to be half the age of everyone else made for somewhat of a lonely trip. Especially since they complained and argued a lot. At no point during the booking process did the agent I dealt with reveal this a possibility, nor was there the opportunity to communicate with other participants where I could have learned about this age gap. Because if I had known, I would have tried to find a friend my own age to come along or picked a different tour. In terms of the actual tour, I found it to be on par with other companies. The sceneries were lovely and accommodations though basic, were nice and clean. I spent the summer travelling through Africa with different companies/groups and found the accommodations and activities to be comparable to what Exodus offered. The only difference was that I paid significantly more with Exodus. With the other companies, we were responsible for our own tents and cooked meals as a group; Exodus took care of this for me. But for me, I was perfectly capable and willing to pay half the price and taken care of these things myself. Perhaps this is standard because the groups skew older and need this, which only reinforces that this company is not for solo travelers in their 20s & 30s.
- by Jordan BruceThis trip was really great. It hit all the highlights I wanted and then some extra. Facilities were actually better than what I expected for tent camping. The crew was great. Trip was organized. Email communication was good, but getting ahold of a live person was a bit of a task. I loved that they used locally owned and operated hotels and outings. I would definitely use this company again.

My first Madventure trip was the classic tour from London to Sydney in 2013. Everything was exciting and new. We were a big group, but everything was well organized and under the guidance of Karen and Will the journey turned out to be an incredible adventure. I loved to see how landscapes, people and buildings changed while travelling. My second tour led me from Beijing to Istanbul in 2017 via the silk road. Although several things went wrong I don't want to miss a day. Digging out the truck is part of overlanding...:) In 2019 I took part on the Africa tour. I have joined the group in Sierra Leone and left in Capetown. Again Will was the driver and I was glad about that in a number of situations, because there is no better one. Weather-beaten bridges, muddy roads and driving through rivers are exciting challenges. In August 2021 my husband and I had the opportunity to accompany the truck from Namibia to Tanzania and we didn't hesitate. It was good to be on the road again after the pandemic break, and even aside of touristic ways Karen and Will made it an unforgettable adventure. I could not resist to book the Arabia tour which starts in two weeks. I am very looking forward to another exciting journey. Meanwhile I have altogether spent more than a year in the trucks sitting in the back row and let the world pass by. Returning to the truck feels like coming to a (second) home thanks to Karen and Will who keep cool in every situation and know what to do. For me it's the way to discover the world. It's an adventure with a "security net". Go mad, go Madventure. Martina Stolle, October 2021
- by MartinaStolleI have done three tours with this Company and are bored on another one. This is the best way to travel in remote places and have a full immersion also in not touristic places. Will is a great leader, very professional and knows how to involve people, and Karen is a super creative Chef. I would highly recommend this Company . It's the best experience ever

The Uganda portion was excellent. Great guides, good food, no complaints other than it involves a lot of driving, but of course there's no way around that unless you fly on your own. Highly recommend Acacia for the portion they operate. Unfortunately the local operator they used for the Mara was pretty miserable. The vans they used were incredibly uncomfortable and woefully inadequate for the terrain. We missed some viewing opportunities because of how slow they drove. Unless Acacia starts using operators with better vehicles I cannot recommend doing the Masai Mara portion with them, you would be better off booking your own.
- by Matt ZCrispen (guide) and Harmony ( driver) were excellent. While some of the days were very long being on the road for over 9500kms really afforded a view of Africa the luxury safari goer doesn’t get to see. Saw the big five in copious numbers. Camped in some pretty unique environments. Dont’t think. Do!

It was a nice trip in the diffrent countries and nice people
- by CLAUS MARK RASMUSSENWhat a trip of a lifetime! Strongly recommend traveling Africa with Oasis - it was a truly unforgettable experience! I did the 75 day Nairobi to Cape Town trip with on average about 13 people. I’m so glad I did the entire route as it really gave you the chance to experience the diversity of Africa. It felt a bit tiring towards the end but I have no regrets. If you did want a shorter trip I would recommend Nairobi to Nairobi or Nairobi to Vic Falls - although Namibia is AMAZING! The truck itself is great - the line of seats down both sides of the truck are perfect for ensuring you socialise with everyone and relationships don’t get too cliquey. Great way to play card/board games, sleep and admire the amazing views. I sometimes get car sickness and it didn’t happen at all on the truck! The truck had UK charging points, drink bottle holders and speakers to plug music in which were all very handy! My tour leaders were Often and Alexis. Often was the most amazing guide you can imagine! After 75 days on the trip I learnt that there was nothing he couldn’t do! He was so helpful with fixing anything that broke - air mattress, zips, tyres etc not to mention helping with a million other things - when he saw you struggling to fit your tent into its bag, making his famous garlic bread for your cook group etc. He cooked the most delicious food! He always ensured his beloved truck was in perfect working order. He was so open in sharing his life experiences and ensured we fell in love with Africa just as he had. Essentially, the trip would have been very different without him. Like Often, Alexis has been doing this route for years and it showed. She was very organised - with the days and border crossings always going smoothly. She was great at making sure if there was a specific African meal or something we wanted to see that wasn’t in the itinerary we would get to experience it! Alexis was also really helpful when it came to meal times. The food cooked by Alexis and Often was some of the tastiest meals I’ve ever had! So yummy! Being in a cook group can be a bit of a pain but it’s a great way to get to know everyone, learn new recipes, have some laughs and foster that family feeling. I spent a lot more money than I thought I would but you’re only in Africa once (hopefully more)! There are a lot more atms available than what the info Oasis provide states. You also don’t need as much USD as it implies as you do end up using local currencies in the countries you’re in. For me, I had a tonne of USD so I just exchanged it at the borders and rarely used an atm. In saying that, having too much USD actually worked out well as some people didn’t bring enough so I was able to help them out. There will be supermarket/grocery store stops about every 3 days too so there is no need to bring all your toiletries etc. The tents, dorms etc were absolutely fine! Tents are really quick to put up and down and are comfortable. There are upgrades available and a few of us always took a dorm room if it was less than $8. My number one tip is to buy a pillow at the start of the trip - you won’t regret it! Bring a spare set of headphones and flip flops because so many of us lost or broke both! Don’t worry about over packing - you get a lot of space to store your things. I’d also recommend bringing binoculars for all the game drives - we were always fighting over who got to use the two that we had! Do both of the village walks in Malawi and make sure you go down the slide in Jinja! Overall, it was just the most amazing trip. I have travelled quite a lot but never seen and experienced a place like Africa and I’ll always be so thankful for the memories and friends I now have.

The overall experience of this trip was excellent, with many wonderful places to see and experience, the most outstanding being the Simien Mountains National Park with its Gelada baboons and the rock hewn churches of Lalibela. The Limalimo Lodge in the mountains was by far the best of the accommodation and in the meals provided, the other hotels being a mixed bunch, especially those without lifts. Likewise the quality of the food. Even the Jupiter in Addis Ababa supplied me with an absolutely inedible meal (which they eventually did not make me pay for). As a member of a trio who were over eighty, I was pleased to receive special treatment and a special guide, especially at Lalibela, where we were able to see the best churches, but did not need to compete with the crush of many pilgrims in unlit tunnels. Otherwise our guide Teklu seemed a bit lacking in experience and in providing enough information on the places we were about to see. Some of us found him hard to hear as the bus was not equipped with a microphone. But these were minor quibbles in an otherwise great trip.
- by Lesley Marianne PotterNot a particularly good standard of hotels, given the high price of this tour (often very run-down, patchy service, one hotel had no plumbing for a while, another had no heating in the rooms, often no wi-fi in the hotels), which was disappointing, especially since I stayed in 3 x excellent Ethiopian hotels which I found of my own accord post-tour. Our tour leader Kibrom was very helpful to me in arranging post-tour travel connections, however he could have been more engaging during the tour and facilitate communication to/between travellers more readily (e.g. he never joined us for meals, other than the farewell dinner in Lalibela). The itinerary was not particularly innovative (we were very much on the well-worn tourist trail), but it did indeed include the highlights/must-sees of northern Ethiopia, as the tour title suggests. A good beginner introduction to Ethiopia overall, but it's definitely one of the poorer-quality tours I have taken with Peregrine Adventures (I expect better from Peregrine, in terms of hotels, itinerary and tour leader).

We loved our safari with GoExplore Safaris. Brian, the owner, put together a great itineary. Our first driver in Tanzania, Stanley, was fantastic. He was patient, kind and knowledgable. We always felt safe and we learned and saw so much with him. The Serengetti was everything we hoped it would be. After a few days in Tanzania, we crossed into Kenya and joined our next guide, Joseph. Joseph was equally amazing. We enjoyed his company he assured our time in Kenya was memorable. We saw so much in Maasai Mara thanks to his expertise. On the Uganda side, we met our lovely guide, Rachel. We loved learning about life in Uganda from Rachel. She taught us a lot about the local customs, food and way of life. She has a great eye and made sure we saw lots of wildlife during our long hours in the car moving from one location to the next. We loved our time in Uganda and made memories to last a life time gorilla & chimp trekking. The only suggestions that may have made this trip better would be 1. an option to upgrade hotels for an additional cost (most hotels were more than fine but it would have been nice to upgrade if different/better accomodations were available), and 2. An option to fly between some locations as we spent a lot of time in the car (I will say the drive was beautiful, despite some roads not being great and we saw sooo much more of Africa than we ever have before flying in bush planes). We booked this late and during busy season and we are absolutely satisfied with our experience. Thank you Brian, Rachel, Stanley, Percius and Joseph for crossing this incredible adventure off our bucketlist. :)
- by Alexandria SalinasI did a 11 day safari with GoExplore across Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. I had an amazing time and the guides in each country took really good care of me, were very professional and great at their job. I saw so many animals in the Serengeti and Masaai Mara and on the chimpanzee and gorilla treks. It definitely helped to have GoExplore assist with the whole coordination of the safaris across the three countries and they really took the time to personalise the trip to my preferences. The accommodation arranged at each of the respective countries were clean and comfortable. Beyond the safari itself, they also helped coordinate a trip to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Uganda on very short notice. Communication was great. I would highly recommend booking a tour with GoExplore.

We had an amazing time on a private seven-day tour with Mukisa Safaris. Despite the limited time, we managed to experience so much—more than what you'd usually see in two weeks in other countries. Our coordinator, Richard, and driver-guide, John, were incredibly friendly and dedicated to making sure we were happy. Richard helped plan the trip, offered multiple options, adjusted the itinerary to match our preferences, and gave packing tips that proved super helpful. John, on the other hand, was a tireless driver and guide rolled into one. He knows all the animals of the savannah, the best times to head out, and somehow manages to spot wildlife even while driving. Thanks to him, we not only checked off all the activities on our itinerary but even went beyond it. We saw animals that most tourists miss, like hyenas and leopards. He answered all our questions, shared stories about life in Uganda, was polite, cheerful, and always ready to solve little problems that came up along the way. The team at Mukisa Safaris are fantastic partners for anyone looking to explore Uganda, the Pearl of Africa. It’s almost impossible to organize such a trip on your own, especially on your first visit, but with Mukisa, it’s all achievable. Highly recommend! Just one tip—don’t limit yourself to a week; aim for 10–12 days to see everything this beautiful country has to offer. And yes, chimpanzee trekking (and most likely gorilla trekking, which we didn’t get to) is absolutely worth it. Don’t hesitate—it’s an investment in memories you’ll treasure forever.
- by Alex RembishWe had the most wonderful experience in Uganda. Everything about this tour was excellent - it was perfectly organised and included once-in-a-lifetime activities, kind and accommodating staff, delicious food, beautiful accommodation and fantastic communication throughout. We told our lovely tour guide, Allen, that we wanted to try some local food so she brought us to the home of an acquaintance, who cooked us a big feast. Richard was fantastic to work with from beginning to end. Before the tour, there were times I e-mailed Richard when it would've been in the middle of the night for him, and I still received a response minutes later. At one point the A/C in our car stopped working, and the next day Richard sent out a new car with working A/C for us to use, despite us being on the other side of the country (we never requested it - they were just very proactive!). He picked us up from the airport (quite rare for a tour CEO to do so) and called me at the end of our trip to discuss our experience. The staff really went above and beyond to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. We really couldn't have asked for anything more and we’ve come home with a lifetime of amazing memories. Right now I want to go back to Uganda!

I can't recommend this for enough. Geofrey our guide was amazing. He treated us like family and have us the best experience in such a short time in Uganda. The Gorillas have left us speechless. What a privilege that we are able to sirens time with these majestic creatures in their habitat. The trek is very well organised and the tour guides for the trek were awesome. Geofrey, made sure that we were looked after by reputable locals whilst doing village tours. We really enjoyed our time and couldn't have asked for anyone better to guide us they this experience.
- by tracyOur guide/driver Geofrey is an extremely knowledgable guide for our journey that included river rafting on the nile, chimpanzee trekking, game drives in national parks, and gorilla trekking in Bwindi. All local guides and rangers showed knowledge of the animals, fauna, and local lifestyles. We also experienced several community and cultural experiences in small towns and rural areas, with opportunities to participate in the activities. Lodges were high quality, safe, and splashing with Ugandan local flavor. I felt very safe in all parts of Uganda.

The Best of East Africa Safari was an incredibly wonderful tour. The tour leader and drivers were professional and a pleasure to work with. The itinerary was superb for watching and photographing wildlife in 5 national parks in Kenya and Tanzania. The safari lodges and camps were of high quality with excellent meals and a pleasure to stay in. Really a perfect once in a life time experience. We highly recommend it.

I can’t speak more highly of the amazing experience I had on my first safari with Professional Safari Africa. Tour Radar organised for them to step in when our initial tour provider had issues, and I am so glad they did. I would highly recommend using Professional Safari Africa for any safari needs in Kenya and Tanzania. Although I’ve never been on Safari before, my partner has been on quite a few safaris in South Africa and he was absolutely blown away by this special experience. We visited major national parks in Kenya and Tanzania, including Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Amboseli. We stayed in Serena/Sopa lodges/hotels and luxury tented camps (would highly recommend the camps as we were in amongst lions, water buffalo and wildebeest being chased by hyenas). We had absolutely unbelievable sightings of the big 5 and much more, including Mt Kilimanjaro and visiting Tanzanite and Masai village. We would like to give a huge thank you to our tour guides, Tony (Kenya section) and Innocent (Tanzania section), that absolutely made the trip so amazing and a truely once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thanks too to Medison the owner of Professional Safari Africa for keeping in touch beforehand and making all the arrangements smooth. We will definitely be searching for more African safaris in the future.
- by Elissa KellyI recently embarked on a 4-day luxury adventure with a prominent Professional Safari Africa company, and my experience exploring Tanzania surpassed all expectations. The itinerary meticulously curated by the team blended wildlife encounters, cultural immersions, and relaxation seamlessly. From the moment I touched down in Kilimanjaro, the attention to detail was evident. The luxurious accommodations, ranging from opulent lodges to secluded tented camps, provided a perfect balance of comfort and proximity to nature. Each day brought a new adventure, whether it was witnessing the breathtaking Serengeti migration or connecting with the Maasai people in Ngorongoro. The knowledgeable and personable guides Medison enriched the journey, offering insights into Tanzania's rich biodiversity and cultural tapestry. The wildlife safaris were nothing short of awe-inspiring – lions, elephants, and rhinos roamed freely against the backdrop of stunning landscapes. Beyond the safari game drives, the trip included moments of relaxation at exquisite lodges, where I could unwind and savor the flavors of Tanzanian cuisine. The entire experience felt like a seamless blend of adventure, luxury, and cultural immersion. 4-day luxury Tanzania adventure was a transformative experience that left me with memories to last a lifetime. I highly recommend this travel company for those seeking an unparalleled exploration of Tanzania with a touch of luxury.
