First off, this trip is great because you get to see Macchu Picchu. However, the rest is miserable. Lodging/Accommodations: The only great hotel is the Lima Wasi in Lima. The rest are 1 star hotels. The one in Cusco was dirty, no AC but you have “windows” that open up to the inside hallway so there is no air circulation. We didn’t have water pressure, so no showers or flushing toilets. The hotel in Aguascalientes, get ready since it’s next to the train station. This means the exhaust comes inside your room, so get ready to get a headache. Also, the first train arrives at 5 am and the last train departs at 11 pm, so very little sleep. Many of the mornings, you have to meet by 7 am, so horrible sleep and being tired is the norm. Our entire tour group (15 people) complained to G Adventures about the lodging issues and they informed us that they frequently get the same complaints. Our tour group contained very experienced travelers, so we all had been around the world, so we are very familiar with different cultural experiences and lower poverty countries. Breakfast: Expect very little breakfast, if you are even lucky to get breakfast. In Cusco, the restaurant would run out of food due all of the guest. You are lucky to get two scrambled eggs, so go for the bread items instead. Transportation: G Adventures has the aspect very down. The flights were all scheduled and they will give you boarding passes and luggage tags. Busses were clean and always on time. Cusco-Round Trip: Be advised that in Cusco, the tour company will give you a duffel bag to transfer some of your belongings. You must leave your remaining luggage in the hotel at Cusco, only need 3 days of clothing for the duffel bag. So this was new to us. The purpose of this is due to the movements and also carrying your luggage in the rock-stone streets. Tourguide: WASI was the best tour guide our group had ever had in the world. He was very passionate about Peru and extremely knowledgeable. He tried maintaining our positive feelings when we had many issues at the hotels. He will take care of everything, and if you get sick he will make sure to help as much as he can. Machu Picchu: This was an amazing experience. However, hopefully all of your group get the same time. Our group was split into 3 groups and there is no moving since it’s associated with your passport.

The itinerary was great, and included a good variety of activities - although a few more optional cultural ones would have been appreciated. The tour leader was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable, willing to discuss any subject (including the local delicate situation). He managed the time well, and kep us well informed. I do have an issue with G-Adventures tipping approach though (I've been on 2 trips with them this year). It doesn't feel like tipping. The amount is very high and on this trip we were asked to pay more than pre-advised because we were low in number (4). This clearly means the tips are used as a form of income. There is no transparency about it either. It will put me off using them again.

Embarking on the "Jungle Hikes & Island Nights" group journey from Bangkok to Singapore was an adventure of a lifetime, magnificently organized and flawlessly executed. From start to finish, the expedition was a resounding success, thanks to impeccable planning and an itinerary that promised—and delivered—an extraordinary experience. The locations we explored were nothing short of spectacular, offering us a diverse palette of experiences that ranged from the serenity of lush jungles to the vibrant nightlife on picturesque islands. The balance between exhilarating hikes and lively parties was just right, ensuring that every day was filled with new adventures and opportunities to create lasting memories. A significant part of this trip's charm was the fantastic group of fellow travelers I had the fortune to journey with. It's rare to find such a harmonious blend of personalities and backgrounds, but we clicked instantly, transforming a group of strangers into lifelong friends. The camaraderie that developed amongst us added a whole new layer of enjoyment to the experience. A special shoutout is deserved for our CEO, Fon, whose expertise, passion, and warm personality made her not just a guide, but a true friend. Her dedication to ensuring that we all had an incredible time was evident in every aspect of the trip. Fon, you are a gem, and your efforts were genuinely appreciated by all of us! However, no adventure is without its lessons. The pace of the tour, while exhilarating, sometimes felt a bit rushed. Extending the itinerary by a day or two could provide a more relaxed pace, allowing for some much-needed rest days amidst the action-packed schedule. For travelers like myself, towering over 185cm, be prepared for a squeeze, especially on the night trains which proved to be quite the challenge. An additional note for future adventurers: consider booking an extra night in Singapore to fully explore the wonders this city has to offer. The tour's conclusion in Singapore feels like just the beginning of another adventure waiting to be discovered. In summary, the "Jungle Hikes & Island Nights" trip from Bangkok to Singapore was an unforgettable journey filled with incredible sights, sounds, and experiences. While there's room for minor adjustments, the overall experience was profoundly impactful, leaving us with memories to cherish for a lifetime. To those seeking adventure, camaraderie, and a touch of magic, this journey comes highly recommended.
