Slovenia Tour Companies

Communication could have been a lot better. For instance our tour group was advised that a meet and greet session was to take place on the day before the tour started. It did not happen and there was no notification. The tour minivan was much too small for 8 people. We were all aged 70s and 80s and squashed into a small van, 3 to a seat. It was also difficult for some of us to negotiate a tight squeeze to get into the van. Those of us in the back seat could not hear anything the guide was saying which is the whole point of doing a tour and gaining information on what you are seeing. The guide should have had microphone equipment. The places we visited were fabulous and well thought out for a good tour of Slovenia. The guide was first class and we could not fault him. He was well organised, very helpful and flexible and well knowledged on the areas we visited. Highly enthusiastic. He was the best guide I have ever met or heard on a tour.

I just completed the tour, Stunning Slovenia 172103 start date 12.09.2024 by Palma DMC & To. Slovenia is a beautiful country and friendly people. The tour guide Ziga was a pleasant young man who was very knowledgeable about his country and I would not hesitate to take another tour with him. Where the tour was extremely lacking is the lack of communication and organization between the company Palma DMC, the guide and the tour participants. Before I left for the trip, I specifically asked Palma DMC in a message if my luggage would be portaged for me since I have a back issue am are not able to lift anything. I was assured it would be taken care of. It was not! There was a total lack of porters at every hotel we stayed in. Ziga tried to help but the tour was a total of 7 senior citizens with various health issues. Tour Radar list this tour as appropriate for 1-99. Obviously not! It was not like any group tour I have ever taken. It definitely is not a 4.8 rated tour. I have to say besides a lack of porters the hotels were as advertised at a 4 star +. Since the group only had 7 + the tour guide, they put us in a 8 person van. Being the younger of the group, and others claiming various ailments, I and 2 others in our group were stuck in the back bench for the whole tour. It was cramped, difficult to get inside or out and there was no view of the countryside. We were not able to hear or see any of Ziga’s commentary regarding the countryside since the company Palma would not provide a microphone. The van was not appropriate for a tour of this expense. A larger vehicle was requested but not provided. This ruined the tour for me. The tour lists free time at various stops. It would have been nice to shop, have time for a coffee etc. Due to mismanagement and the elderly slow moving mix of the group it was not possible. I would not recommend a tour from this company and rate it at a 2.

This tour was extraordinary starting with our great tour guide Peter. Wonderful accommodations, great pace with ample free time which allowed my husband to go fly fishing for a day in Bohinli. Lots of options including hiking, biking, boat tours and just walking. Slovenia is a beautiful country and the people are super friendly and helpful. The food options are great and the prices are super reasonable. I would recommend this tour unconditionally.

Good trip, but the location of hotels it required use of taxis to sightsee or go to dinner. This was a first for me with Explore trips.

I loved my experience. The people I met were so kind and inclusive of everyone and we had so much fun every day. I loved that you could do your own thing in each city or have the option to do activities as a group. The freedom g adventures provides allows you to get what you want out of your trip instead of being stuck to a strict schedule of activities you may not want to do. I definitely plan to do another trip in thefuture!

Wonderful experience. Slovenia was an incredible country, and I'm very glad I decided to go there. The walks were steep in some points, but the incredible views were definitely worth it! I would recommend this trip. It was very well run and the CEOs did an amazing job.

The places and the transportation organized are very well done. The flexibility of the activity enable us to still explore much of the city at our own pace. Only the hotel I wish can improve a level up. Everything else is very well done!!!

First time on Intrepid cycle trip. The leaders Davor and Tomi are outstanding! Slovenia is a beautiful country and the cycling experience is wonderful. I very highly recommend! I was nervous that my 62 year old legs and casual cycling would leave me struggling but the bicycles provided were excellent. I had a hybrid 30 gear bicycle provided, three riders opted for e- bikes. The experience includes being immersed in the geology, culture, and many exposures to Slovenian cuisine.

The tour is absolutely spectacular from start to finish. The organisation and communication with the hosts was smooth, the welcome meeting and detailed briefing was in person, which came to me as a big, but very positive surprise.. All instructions were very clear and we got to use the navigation app as well as the actual physical map. As first timers taking part in a self guided tour, to set our minds at ease we connected with the host via WhatsApp and we remained in contact with him for all our questions and concerns. Luckily, we did not have many. The hiking area is breathtaking, the route is not too easy, but a nice challenge for someone who likes to hike and is reasonably fit. The views and the surroundings of every step are unforgettable and I would gladly recommend it to everyone!

I’ve ridden several mountain biking tours in the Alps, and I can confidently say this tour in western Slovenia is among the most beautiful. Stunning surroundings and trails that truly impressed both my wife and me. I might have expected slightly easier climbs on some sections. Well-chosen hotels, excellent organization, and smooth execution made up for it. Katarina did an outstanding job. Throughout the tour, we had support and advice on courses and other details. Kudos for the seamless flow of the tour.

Magnificent country. The hike was well organised, a few spots the trail hikes signs were broken, but that's not a Touradar problem. The accommodation was all good, the meals, especially the breakfasts were great. We are coming back!

The tour itself was wonderful. Accommodation was fantastic and the food was great. Luggage transfer was flawless and all transport for our group was timely and comfortable. There is room to improve in terms of communication about the itinerary prior to the trek. We did not receive any additional itinerary information until less than a week before the trek, though I sent many emails asking for info. While this detail didn't affect the trek itself, it definitely caused some anxiety and uncertainty. If this happens to you... don't freak out! Otherwise, this trip was great and I could not recommend it more highly!

Our adventure to Slovenia was absolutely spectacular! Every aspect of the trip was fabulous. Our guides, Masha and Hannah were so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Our hikes were well planned, exhilarating and gorgeous! The pension where we stayed was spacious and clean. And the food was delicious.

Slovenia is a strikingly beautiful country. The hiking trails are are largely underdeveloped and technically challenging. What was considered moderate by Exodus, I would have considered challenging. The guides were helpful and knowledgeable. The physical facilities were very nice.

This tour is made for autonomous and independent travelers, able to fend for themselves most of the time. The offer includes, transportation, hotels, a 2 to 3 hours orientation tour at each stage, half a dozen meals, basic assistance, and that's it ! So, be prepared to be left on your own 60% of the time. Personally, it suits me perfectly, but if you are looking for a fully guided tour, and want to be pampered constantly, this is not a trip for you. According to that, I rate the value for money of this trip as poor. The positives are : Well designed trip, short journeys, good duration, (17 days), with several two night stops to relax. Variety and interest of the places visited. Confortable véhicle, excellent driver careful and friendly. Very good young tour director, smart, helpful, friendly, flexible, with very good knowledge. The negatives are : Average 4 stars hotels, well located, but for some of them below standards. The few dinners included in the tour, (mainly buffet dinners) were for most of them shabby, and inevitable when the hotel is located in a remote place. The reserved rooms are generally the cheapest in the hotel, not well placed and small, (with some exceptions), and It's even worse for those who travel solo, despite a substantial supplement. In summary : A very inserting trip that requires improvements, especially regarding hotels and meals. Reserved for travelers who want a lot of freedom. In total, bellow average value for money.

The activity list had covered variety and no same nature when you visit another country. Our tour guide Blanchard was very attentive to us and made us feel safer . Some small hotels may need to be evaluated for a better accommodation.

Was generally good with nice bus and guide. Hotels were reasonable with good breakfast and dinner options. However, at hotel in Split we didn’t get served with food as it run out by the time we got to the buffet at 8pm. Otherwise all good.
