An excellent tour led by a truly great man. He did everything to make sure we enjoyed the trip and importantly in this part of the world, safely and securely. Thanks to him, it was a great experience.
- Morocco to Ghana Group Overland Tour
This was an amazing trip. You get to experience every climate(sub 20 deg in Northern Alaska, to 40+ deg in Mexico), visit great places (Yellowstone, Machu Picchu, Perito Moreno Glacier, Iguazu Falls, Chicken, Tikal, are just a few!) in the best trucks on the road. Will and Karen run really good trips.
- Highlights of Morocco
We just came back from this tour. Morocco is an amazing country, I think everyone should visit this country once during their lifetime. In 14 days, we visited ancient cities, roman ruin, Sahara desert, Hollywood film location, the blue hippie town and a coastal town. The variety of landscape is breathtaking. Our group of 14 people ranges from 20 something to 50+ people. Our tour guide Mustapha Mezan made our tour even more special. He is extremely patient and knowledgeable about his country. The accommodations are basic, clean and comfortable enough. The locations of the hotels are very good, right in the middle of the town, but it can get very noisy sometimes. Overall, this is an amazing experience, one with a reasonable price tag.

What makes this particularly special is the balance between cultural workshops and historical depth. Looking at the feedback from our Morocco travelers, Intrepid comes out particularly strong for their cycling tours. Their guide Said consistently gets mentioned by name - he's knowledgeable about the routes, local culture and really goes above and beyond for the groups. Marrakech Dream Trips has built quite a reputation through their driver Hicham. Our travelers often highlight how his careful driving and clear communication made them feel secure, especially on those winding mountain roads. He's good at explaining what's coming up next and adjusting the pace to match the group's needs. Timeless Tours gets mixed reviews - they've got some excellent guides like Mustapha who brings humor and depth to the tours, and their itineraries cover all the key spots. But we've heard from several travelers about ups and downs with the accommodations - some hotels are great while others need improvement. The guide quality also varies depending on who you get assigned. Between these three, there's a clear pattern in what makes tours work well in Morocco - it's usually down to having experienced local staff who really know their stuff and care about getting it right. The personal touch from guides like Said, Hicham and Mustapha seems to make all the difference in how people experience the country.

"The organisation could have been better. We were kept waiting till 16.00 on the first day while several people disembarked at the port in Tanger. This meant that visits were very brief that day.

For couples, our most requested routes run through Ghana, Togo and Benin over 14-17 days, mixing cultural immersion with just the right touch of romance. You'll share special moments like dining by candlelight in centuries-old kasbahs and walking hand-in-hand through local markets buzzing with life. Our travelers often tell us how much they enjoy learning crafts together - trying their hand at Ghanaian batik making or cooking up local specialties in group workshops. You'll stay in authentic riads and comfortable hotels, with plenty of magical moments built in - think sunset views over Lake Nokoue or private boat rides through the fascinating water village of Ganvie.
The younger crowd tends to go for our more dynamic West African routes that run 14-15 days packed with real adventures. You'll tackle Mount Gemi's trails in Ghana, walk above the forest at Kakum National Park and explore hidden caves in the Shai Hills. The pace keeps things interesting - you might start your day learning traditional drumming, then dive into busy markets and end up taking part in local ceremonies. Our younger travelers really connect with authentic experiences like village homestays and checking out contemporary African art at Benin's Fondation Zinsou.
Our senior travelers appreciate tours that take their time - usually 10-14 days - letting you really soak in each place you visit. The guides are excellent at sharing rich historical stories at places like Cape Coast Castle and Elmina's colonial architecture. We've planned regular comfort breaks and added rest days in just the right spots. You'll still see all the cultural highlights - watching skilled artisans in Ghana's craft villages, exploring Marrakech's winding souks and also discovering local traditions - but at a comfortable pace that lets everything sink in properly.
Our family tours through Morocco really shine when it comes to keeping everyone happy and engaged. The sweet spot is 10-12 days starting from Casablanca, giving you plenty of time to experience the good stuff. Kids love the camel rides into the Sahara and sleeping under impossibly starry skies, while parents appreciate how the ancient kasbahs (yes, the ones from Gladiator) bring history right off the screen. The medieval medina in Fes is a highlight - our guides know exactly where to take families for hands-on pottery workshops that get everyone involved. We've balanced everything nicely so there's pool time at the riads between exploring, and our guides are pros at keeping both adults and kids interested throughout.
