  Ask for Joao. I’m sure other guides are good too, but João knows his areas of Portugal well and personalizes the trip within what he can do. He’s a lively and lovely person too. So accommodating. Thank you for an amazing experience, Joao.

  The itinerary was over ambitious and therefore impossible to complete leaving us feeling like we didn't get what was promised. The hotels were not 3 stars as promised, at one point I had to sleep on a futon. The breakfasts were not all hot as promised. The bus was not air conditions or wifi enabled and had serious electrical problems that put us on hold a number of times. This tour was more like a race with little support to the guide. We were given little information on the areas we were visiting south of Lisbon. It was disorganized, cheep and 4GST refused to do anything to compensate its guests. I would never book with them again.

  Overall, this tour not only fulfilled, but surpassed my expectations. Portugal, The Way to Go, is designed to offer a flavor of all regions of the country and was a very efficient way to see as much as possible in the time we had. The itinerary also offered a unique, one of a kind experience, by visiting places that are very local and not as traveled by tourists. Additionally, our tour guide, Joao, a Portuguese local, did a wonderful job overall. He made sure the trip was balanced to offer time to experience the culture and surroundings, learn about the history, while also having free time to enjoy the various towns at our own pace. Joao is a very skilled people person (fun, energetic and uplifting) and had the unique ability to blend a very diverse group of people which created good chemistry amongst the group - a definite plus! He also offered great tips for us to do during our free time that offered an authentic experience, as only an experienced local could do. Joao, certainly went above and beyond his responsibilities in many ways to guarantee a memorable trip for the group. Coming out of this tour, I have already started recommended this trip to friends and family and am certain that I will return to Portugal (a diverse, and colorful city filled with great culture, warm people, quaint villages and world renowned beaches). Thanks to everyone involved in creating this amazing experience for me - not only did I have an epic time, but made some great friends along the way!

  I booked this tour to Portugal knowing very little about the country or the tour company. I have come away with a passion and love for the people, the culture, the food and beautiful landscapes.Joao is an exceptional tour guide. He has a talent for getting to know each individual in the group, and within the structure of the itinerary, provide an experience tailored to your specific desires. You put a lot of different age groups and personalities together and you need someone to be the glue to keep everyone upbeat, positive, flexible and willing to step into new adventures. João is that man. His love for his people and his country and his passionate desire for the group to experience all that Portugal has to offer, makes him an exceptional guide. I highly recommend this tour and to ask for João Trindade as your guide. I guarantee that you will leave Portugal with memories and friends that you will treasure for a lifetime.   This was a fabulous small group tour. We got to see so many beautiful places that only a local would know about. Our tour guide João was amazing. He was wonderful to be around and worked so hard to make sure everyone was happy. The planned excursions were incredibly special and the food was delicious everywhere we ate. Portugal your way was a perfect way to get to know and love Portugal.
