How many guests will be in my group?
All Luxury Gold tours are small group tours, with an average of 20 guests. In such a small group, you'll receive more personal attention from your Travel Concierge, and you'll benefit from access and experiences not available to larger groups.
How much free time will I have on my tour?
Free time is built into every Luxury Gold tour, enabling you - with the assistance of your Travel Concierge - to personalise your tour and discover a destination in the way you choose.
How much walking is involved on a Luxury Gold tour?
Our activity levels give you an idea of what to physically expect from your Luxury Gold tour. We have divided all tours into three categories: Leisurely, Balanced and Dynamic. All tours have been assigned one of these categories.
Is there a dress code I need to be aware of for my tour?
Make sure you are aware of dress code expectations for the locations you will be visiting, particularly Muslim countries so that you can pack for your tour accordingly. When visiting a place of worship, shoulders will need to be covered so take a wrap or shawl with you.
What types of Coaches are used on my tour?
With Luxury Gold, you'll travel aboard a specially configured coach with plentiful legroom. Despite travelling in an average group of size of just 20, we've opted to retain a full-size coach rather than downsizing. So, you'll have plenty of personal space to enjoy the journey. We seldom travel longer than a couple of hours or so without a stop. Often your days won't involve the coach at all as we build in multiple days at leisure into your itinerary.
What other types of transport might be used on my tour?
A Luxury Gold tour will also include a range of other modes of transport, from high-speed trains to alpine cable cars, hydrofoils, river cruisers and horse-drawn carriages, in addition to our high-deck luxury coaches with extra legroom.
What can I expect from the accommodation on a Luxury Gold tour?
Luxury Gold utilises a carefully curated range of hotels. We are extremely selective, choosing only the very best hotels offering exceptional levels of service. From game reserves to castles, our properties are an experience in their own right. And with multiple night stays in many locations, you'll have the opportunity to take advantage of all they have to offer.
What do I need to know about dining during my tour?
Luxury Gold tours offer unique dining, from Michelin-starred restaurants to street-food adventures, with breakfast included daily. Lunch and dinner are selective, encouraging exploration of local cuisine, with our Travel Concierge ready to recommend. Guests should inform us of dietary needs (vegetarian, diabetic, gluten-free, etc.) during registration and at the tour's start for possible accommodations. While we strive to meet all dietary requests, we cannot guarantee fulfilment in every case.
How much luggage can I being?
Each guest can bring a single bag measuring no more than 77.5cm (30.5in) x 56cm (22in) x 32cm (12.5in) and weight not exceeding 50 lbs. (23kg). You can also bring one hand luggage bag that is no bigger than 12”x11”x6” (30x28x14cm) to fit under your coach seat or in the small overhead compartment. Hand luggage cannot have wheels or a telescopic handle.
If you wish to bring a second item of luggage, please request this at time of booking. Additional charges will apply.Is There Lost Luggage Protection?
Luxury Gold includes Blue Ribbon Bags' lost luggage service for all international flights booked through us, starting and ending in your home country. BRB tracks and expedites lost luggage returns, offering real-time updates via email and SMS if details are in your booking. Plus, BRB guarantees payment for bags lost beyond 96 hours after landing, in addition to any travel insurance or airline compensation.
What if I become ill on the tour and cannot continue?
Your Travel Concierge will assist you with a doctor's visit or hospitalisation should you require. Luxury Gold has a dedicated Customer Care Department in Europe or our Operations Department in the relevant country will contact you to offer assistance and advice.
