We are happy to read that you enjoyed the highlights of the tour and the homestay experience. Indeed Ban Gioc waterfalls are not close to Hanoi, it is located on the border with China, and you have to drive through mountains passes to access it. 3 days is the minimum to make a trip there and return to Hanoi. Long distances are indeed covered on this tour to reach the Chinese frontier on mountainous roads, but the reward is worth it as the landscapes are stunning and the experience in homestay with local families is an excellent way to learn about the culture in depth.
