The anthropology museum in Mexico City, all the Mayan sites but especially Tikal, Chichen Itza ,and Uxmal San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan churches were very moving and spiritual. Oaxaca - we were lucky to catch a masked carnival parade gathering in front of a church near the hotel. Caye Caulker came at the right time for some R&R and great snorkelling in the Hol Chan Marine Reserve

All the colonial towns were wonderful as were Caye Caulker and Peten. Boat trips were fun too. Mexico City unexpectedly good. Enjoyed mescal tasting, rug weaving and bizarre church near St Cristobal.

We loved visiting so many ancient sites and through them gaining some understanding of pre-Hispanic Mexico. The colonial towns were beautiful and the island beach stops very welcome.
