Very good 5 day tour of Rapa Nui with fascinating excursions by van of some archaeological sites all over the island, and a well situated, pleasant stay at Hotel Taha Tai. The hotel receptionist greeted us with 2 free drinks (non alcohol) at their restaurant, which includes a fabulous daily full breakfast buffet. We really enjoyed walking along the scenic shoreline route into Hanga Roa every day to explore the charming town, three ahu platforms (with moai), and two mercados artesania. Local tour company Mahinatur employees were organized, competent and friendly with a lovely flower lei greeting at their small airport, and also a farewell moai necklace upon departure. Our tour guide Luis had the challenging job of lecturing about their extensive history and culture in both English and Spanish. Only recommendation for a better tour would be information that the cave tour Ana Te Pahu is a long walk on rocky, dirt roads, plus quite dark in the cave. Small flashlights for the tourists would have been helpful. The accommodation that they booked was friendly, efficient, and helpful. The local operator with whom Signature worked was professional and knowledgeable. The itinerary covers the major sites and a few smaller yet interesting locations too. Unlike the classic 4-day tour, this 5-day tour gave me a free day to arrange my own activities, making it a more personal trip. Accommodations were great, tours were well spaced out and included all the must sees and there was plenty of down time to explore the island and Hanga Roa on your own. Almost everyone took credit card, so we didn't use our CLP as much as we thought we would and with the introduction of Starlink internet, I was able to connect and work during my time in Easter Island.
