- Raluca· December 10th, 2024The trip is well organised and you get to cover a lot of places in the southern island. Our guide was Josh and he tried to make sure everyone felt included and learned as much as possible about New Zealand. We were asked for opinions, what we would like for breakfast, we had time for ourselves too, we even went out for dinner and had a nice and relaxing time.Show moreTrip date: December 2024
- Daniel· December 11th, 2023This tour is excellent for anyone wanting a quick trip to see all the major spots in the South Island. Heaps of amazing activities that you can do. Highly recommend going for walks at each spot to find all the hidden gems. :)Trip date: December 2023
- GRGrace· September 6th, 2023This tour is perfect for anyone looking to experience the South Island in a short amount of time. The accommodation was very central & clean, the included greenstone carving was a highlight and our Guide went above and beyond to ensure each guest made the most of it. We were able to make many stops between each destination to capture the beautiful scenery and our Guide recommend all the best local spots for iconic kiwi meals. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a budget friendly tour!Show moreTrip date: May 2023
- AAnonymous· June 30th, 2023I appreciate to have Jef as our tour guide, he saved the day when the weather was not good and other company messed up.Trip date: June 2023
- MMichelleKohnen· January 24th, 2020I would definitely recommend it! I loved it!! Our guide was very nice, patient and had a good sense of humour!! I went by myself, but that wasn’t a problem at all. I immediately made new friends! I stayed the whole week in hostels, which were clean and comfortable. We had only seven days, but we’ve been to so many places in this short time!! It was amazing!Show moreTrip date: January 2020

- Chloé· January 23rd, 2020This was a great trip to explore the South Island when on a short time frame. The itinerary was well thought through Including a little taster of each of the highlights. Our tour guide Dan was a star, despite being very new to Haka he was very knowledgeable and genuinely wanted to make sure everyone had a great time, while also looking out for our safety. The hostels were generally really good quality and the breakfasts provided were delicious and far exceeded my expectations with Dan even letting us submit suggestions to add to the spread. The flexibility of the trip was also a great bonus, we made some impromptu stops to beautiful scenic spots and also had the opportunity to add on activities at the last minute. The other bonus was the group, I was worried about being surrounded by 18 year olds, but was really pleased to find a diverse mix of ages with plenty in my age bracket (20s-30s) and we all got on like a house on fire! Having done similar trips with G Adventures before, I would say this one wasn’t quite as slick in terms of the organisation at a company level, e.g. there was only a hand-written book for booking activities, which felt rather rudimentary and I would have preferred to have paid as I went along rather than all at the end. Additionally, I am not sure we got great rates on some activities e.g. sky diving was listed as cheaper at the venue than what we paid (but we did get a lift for free, so all swings and roundabouts!). Re accommodation, while the hostels were great, there could have been some more thought put into who was being put into rooms together when possible e.g. all female rather than mixing us up when. Overall, all that aside, I would definitely recommend this trip, it was a great flavour and very good value for money while also providing a top overall experience.Show moreTrip date: January 2020
- EMElvira· January 23rd, 2020It was a well organized tour.I did not feel rushed. We visited the most scenic parts of South Island. The Tour Leader, Daniel was a very good Tour Leader looking after everybody and making sure everyone doesn’t miss the optional excursions . He worked hard , driving long distance and showing us places in the itinerary. He was good to me especially when I had the colds, in Franz Joseph he made kiwi tea for me 2x. He was also kind enough to offer his room so I can rest well, and not to spread the virus to others with no additional charge . Being a solo traveller and at 60 years old, I was not left out. In fact I felt everybody was looking after me.. It was a good group and the Tour is unforgettable .Show moreTrip date: January 2020
- KKateHopkins· January 10th, 2020I would say do it if you’re under 40. But not if you’re older.Trip date: January 2020
