- DTDennis· March 20th, 2023Although I'm rating it 5 stars this trip isn't perfect. Things I didn't like: about 30% of the trip you spend on the road and at times it's just dreadful, especially when you got food poisoning from eating things from the local market the day before and have to be on the bus for the next 13 hours. So be prepared for that. Also few hotels were just meh. Things I liked: both Mexico and Guatemala are magical (nature, food, people, architecture etc.) Highly recommend to take all the optional activities G offers, except maybe a cooking class and salsa dancing, unless you are really into it (in my opinion not worth the money paid.) Also, I had a first class guide (@G they are called Chief Experience Officers) Kevin, who is just a wonderful human. It felt at times that I wasn't on the tour, but we all visited our old buddy who just showed us around town.Show moreG Adventures commented on this reviewHi Dennis, Very helpful feedback; thanks so much. And I agree, Mexico and Guatemala are magical.Trip date: March 2023

- ABrian Smales· June 14th, 2022This was an extremely interesting and rewarding experience. My knowledge of Mayan civilisation has been expanded, and the homestay was humbling.Trip date: May 2022Review collected by G Adventures
- JSJung· December 27th, 2019This was my first trip with G Adventures and I wasn't sure what to expect. Everything went well and the CEO was very professional and knowledgable. I would have been happier if the tour had taken a deeper dive into Mayan culture.Trip date: December 2019
- CCChristine· December 16th, 2019We loved this tour. Our Gadventures CEO Christiane was fantastic, the sights were awesome, plenty of optional extras to choose from, hotels were good and heaps of good food options. Only things we would want to change was to have one more day in Palenque as we felt a bit rushed trying to squeeze everything into one day and would have liked to see the town while we were there or had time to relax in the pool at the hotel. In a couple of hotels the water pressure was low and it took forever for the hot water to warm up but I guess you have to expect that in Mexico & Guatemala.Show moreTrip date: December 2019
- ATimothy S· August 26th, 2018Because the guide explains the culture, food and political history and brings the country to life. You are less of a voyeur from afar and more of an interested and attuned visited.Trip date: August 2018
- AAndrea G· October 19th, 2018you see places you would never see on your own and enjoy things (e.g. planterra project) you wouldn't be able to do on your own. everything is well organisedand you don't have to think about anything..Trip date: October 2018
- AYvonne B· August 24th, 2018ease of booking range of trips reliability quality of the CEO's ethical travelTrip date: August 2018
- ARebecca F· October 28th, 2018Great mix of Mayan history and sites with opportunity to take in the sites and relax. Don't feel pressured to to specific things if you do not want to, so there's flexibility and our guide was knowledgeable and welcoming. If you're often finding yourself with the prospect of travelling on your own but uncertain about what to do, this trip really took the stress away from that.Show moreTrip date: October 2018
- ALindsie N· October 28th, 2018Depending on who asks, I'd have to warn them about how active the tour is. It's not just bussing up to tourist sites to take pictures and it's way more immersive than staying at a resort.Trip date: October 2018
