Tajikistan Tour Companies

We had a great trip. Bobo, the tour guide was amazing and we are recommending the trip to everyone

generally ok but some specific issues that I shall comment later.

The itinerary as set out is probably as good as you can get though future guest should be warned The Turkmenistan border is a nightmare at Farab and involves dragging your cases about 500 meteres at least in the hot sun along a gravel road. They will need to be able to hop up into a truck ie be very agile (yes there's a van part of the way but its a long crossing ) Have all medicines ready in hand luggage Expect to have phots deleted on exit back to Uzbekistan Ashgabat makes this excursion in Turkmenistan worth it but only just , it's VERY stressful and remember most of it you have to do without a guide Day 11in the hot months eg June this day is too long after the stress of recrossing into Uzbekistan do not expect your guests to walk about 1km in the hot afternoon sun betweem Dashaguz and Nukus Nb re transportation. This was much better in Turkmenistan and Tajikistan it was poor from day 11 on in Uzbekistan. Often an aging small sedan with poor air conditioning. On day11 I nearly died getting to Nukus. Modern 4 W drive SUv s should be used in Uzbekistan not some cheap local cars

Although widely travelled in Asia I had never been to Central Asia or travelled with Exodus before. The trip was ccertainly the lost heart of Asia and I shall be recommending it to my fellow travellers. My congratulations to Dilshod, our guide. The man is a walking encyclopaedia. What was the most inspirational moment of your trip? The desert castles and Alexader's fortress. Also the yurt camp, excellent. What did you think of your group leader? Great, see above. Do you have any advice for potential travellers? Take a big wallet. The biggest currency note is woth half a dollar! Is there anything else you would like to add? A memorable experience!
