It was a great experience with friendly staff, tour guide and great communication prior to the tour. I personally think it should not be rated as a 4 out of 5 in terms of difficulty. It was more like 2.5 out of 5, but obviously that is a subjective experience. The name of the tour can also be a bit misleading as you don't hike Mont Blanc and only hike through the Alps in the French and Italian side, which is absolutely amazing and breath taking, so I suggest changing it to Alps Explore instead of Mont Blanc explore ;) In sum, I recommend it and you will meet fun people to share this experience with.

Fantastic guide, itinerary, accommodations. Guide accommodated all, from the uber-trekker who wanted and was capable to do more, to the person who needed to take a break from some segments, to the rest of us who trekked the original plan.

The Tour company, No Roads, out of Australia, made the trip more complicated than necessary, and at times, disappointing. There were 10 of us and the group members could t have been better! Everybody got along and I had a wonderful roommate whom I had never met before. The guide was also amazing- friendly, professional, credentialed and highly experienced. We always knew we were in good hands. This trip was a splurge for me as I generally arrange and do all myself traveling for months at a time. So it was frustrating when the arrangements were sloppy (a room with one small bed for 2 women who are”singles,”.Sub- par (2 couples had to share a bathroom), and lacking (one night dinner was lentil soup and bread, and a cold dessert that looked like left over pizza), inefficient (the tour used city buses for transportation and there was a bus strike and a cutback of the number of buses due to the season change) where we started on the trail over an hour later than planned. We were having rain and snow on different days so this was a safety issue as well. The buses were terribly crowded and several (4) of our group became ill from a stomach virus…. I felt bad for the guide who wasn’t in control of any of this because it reflected on him, although he remained professional. I sent an email complaining about the bus situation (because I felt I paid for transports) and the Liason for the company told me that it was an effort to protect the environement. Disingenuous since this Australian company had 8 people traveling 24 hours by air to get there. She also stated that she is going to contact the city to Courmeyer to fix the bus situation. Eye roll. The problem with things being so inconsistent was that we could all see that things could have been arranged better, but corners were clearly cut to save money at the expense of the quality of the tour. There was a consensus among every member that parts of the tour were below standards and that the expectation for the price point (about $4800 pp US) was not met. We all said we would not use this company again for any tour. At the end of the tour, where the other companies’ guides got to hand out TMB (Tour of Mont Blanc) T-shirts, we got nothing. Guide Luca Ferrari 10/10 Food - very uneven, a few 10/10 and some 5/10 Hotels- mostly 8/10, but one 5/10 Transport- buses 3/10, private vans 9/10 Route 10/10

Overall it was excellent because of the spectacular scenery and our fabulous guide Max. We also stayed in good places and Max made us great meals. Unfortunately the rest of our group only spoke French so the experience was diminished because of this. Max did his best to compensate and include us - but it was still awkward and disappointing at times. 7 days is a long time not being able to converse with your group members - particularly at meal times. Shame.

The details could have been better. The starting point ‘alpine cafe’ the notes said your hotel will give you directions, the hotel and driver didn’t know and there are multiple ‘alpine cafes’ also I was told under no circumstances could I wear below the ankle boots yet half the group was. And half the group was told we needed to store our gear at our hotels and half had it brought by van to the end point. That would have saved us some time if we knew our bags could be brought to us.

Simply excellent. We hiked the ~100 kilometers outlined by the 8-day tour and, while it was tough, we were well prepared for what to expect. All this especially thanks to Nino, and other members of the team, who were so kind to answer our MANY questions in advance. One small criticism is that the day-by-day printed-out itinerary was a little confusing in its descriptions/explanations. The English could be a bit more idiomatic and with specific information in a better (more logical and streamlined) order. It was also a *little general ("if you are doing this then..., if that, then...") and if possible, it'd be nice to have it even more tailored exactly to our plans (where/how to pick up busses was a little anxiety-inducing in advance, though word of mouth on the trail made it clearer). But that may be asking too much. The info on the app, especially the map, was very helpful, though. The Hotel Isabella in Chamonix was good but there was late-night street music that made it hard for our kids to sleep (we were in the quieter Hotel du Clocher). This for future reference. Thanks so much! It was a very memorable trip. We loved the varied places we stayed in too.

Overall a well planned and fun trip. However, there were some times when transportation between towns was a big issue. We almost became stranded multiple times. However, this is an issue of the area, not a reflection on the tour agency. The grand angle team was very responsive and quick to help with any questions. I do wish that the itinerary included more information on local bus stops, train stations and schedules. We had several days where some members of our group were unable to do the hike planned OR weather was not permitting, and we had to do all our own research to figure out how to get to the next location. It would also be nice to have more information about local attractions listed for each town as well, in case hiking is not an option. The views, of course, were unbeatable.

I'd recommend this trip to anyone. We were lucky to have an 5 guide and exceptionally 4 weather. The mountain views were breathtaking. A big bonus was having a pass to use on local buses and trains included in the price of the holiday.

This was the first time we benefitted from our Tour Leader providing a picnic lunch. These were always very acceptable.
