Central Greece Tour Companies

This tour served as a basic plan for our trip to Greece, which we supplemented with other activities. We chose the 3 star hotel package. The Athens hotel (where we spent 4 nights) was clean and adequate and located just a short cab ride away from the Acropolis and other attractions. The hotel in Kalambaka was better, and the hotel in Santorini was delightful. Our drivers/guides picked us up and dropped us off on time. We enjoyed the included activities, and there was plenty of time in Athens and in Santorini to schedule additional tours tailored to our interests (a food tour in Athens and a ride on the funicular; walking tour of Oia and a catamaran cruise in Santorini).

First time we used an itinerary type tour. All arrangements were in place, picks and transfers, hotel reservations and tour reservations. We will try this again!

The itinerary was very good. The tour was two and a half days of content with a day on either side. We added an extra day in Athens but we really didn’t need it. We felt that we got to see all we were hoping to. There is a lot of time on the bus to get to Delphi and to get back from Meteora. However, with jet-lagged kids that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. The tour company was very accommodating. We were delayed a day due to flight problems and they worked with us to move our start day last minute. I would recommend upgrading the hotel in Athens and/or reviewing the neighborhood of the hotel.

There were some inconveniences like not being picked up from the airport, Also Having two hotels on the post nights. The Hotels were very nice.

Our trip with Thanos was out of this world. The itinerary changed due to weather conditions from day to day ensuring smooth sailing. The coves for swimming were so beautiful and clear. George the onboard chef made some of the most tasty local dishes which everyone on board thoroughly enjoyed. Thanos our guide was such a lovely person who provided so much information and took the group on walks to visit ancient Greek sites. We learnt so much on our 8 day tour. The transportation to and from the cruise was very well organised. We ate in excellent tavernas and restaurants each night and local wine was very nice. Thank you to Vangelas (sorry for the spelling) for being such a great captain of our vessel. I could not recommend this cruise more highly.

Very well-organised experience to some amazing places in Greece with fabulous hotel! Visit Meteora had excellent communication throughout, and the trip itself was seamlessly organised. From meeting the bus in Athens, to being dropped in Meteora with a driver waiting to take us to our hotel, the sunset tour, hiking tour, and transfer to Delphi - it was perfect. The 3 star hotel was very high quality and had amazing views from the balcony of Meteora on one side, and another balcony with a mountain view - we had a great room and felt very lucky! The sunset over Meteora rocks was spectacular - and the tour was much more than that - the very informative and enthusiastic guide showed us some secret hermit caves, one of the oldest churches in the world, and some incredible view points, as well as a visit to one of the monasteries perched atop these amazing rock formations. The second day, we did the 5 hours morning hike with Costa, he was a very knowledgeable guide, who had been climbing and trekking the area for years so had some great insights and stories. It was a pretty easy going trek, with Costa being very considerate of the needs of the group and keeping a steady pace. We had a small group of around 12, so think it would be suitable for many, and a great way to view the area with a hidden monastery along the way! The following day we visited Delphi - I highly recommend including this in a rip to Greece as it was one of my favourite places. Perched in the mountains with an epic view out to the ocean on one side, the archaeological site was huge, with some amazing temples, an amphitheatre and even a stadium - the history here is very interesting. We had a transfer to Delphi with Dimitri, who drove 30 mins back to me after I stupidly left my phone in his car - what a legend - can't thank him enough. Ending with a public bus back to Athens, which was comfortable and easy to use. All in all, I highly recommend this trip and Visit Meteora, which are a very well renowned local company - you see a lot without the stress of planning your self, or trying to make your own way to these out of reach sites. Athens was a lot of fun to visit all the museums. The views in Delphi and Meteora were spectacular! Be patient and on time and the tour guides will make sure you have a good time!

The tour was very well organized and in the short time (dinner, 3 full days and breakfast on the last day) you have the opportunity to explore some very nice sights. The size of the tour group was still reasonable with 22 people. For people with little time and desire to organize these trips themselves, I can definitely recommend the tour!

The trip offered a blend of hiking, cultural, historical and gastronomical experiences and therefore exceeded my expectations. Besides being a very experienced guide, Thanos did everything to meet our needs and offer us the best of Southern Evia. If there is a similar trip organised in Northern Evia, I would sign up without hesitation.

We loved our tour director Anna. She was amazing. We loved how the tour took us out of tourist trap areas and into the local experience. It was wonderful to see the country side and meet locals.
