I took the tour starting in Athens and saw the Southwestern sections of the peloponnesian and of Greece. I loved every moment of it, it was a turn in history. I met some very nice people as well. Stayed at some great hotels especially the amali in Delphi

I recently had the pleasure of taking a tour, and I must say it was absolutely incredible. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. A special shout-out goes to Spyros, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. His warmth and hospitality made the experience even more memorable. He went above and beyond to ensure that everyone felt comfortable and engaged throughout the journey.

Maria was a fantastic guide and gave an amazing trip. It combined wonderful nature, mythology, ancient antiquity, and delicious cuisine. The hotel was friendly and local, and the pace was excellent. We experienced more than we could have imagined, from the sunset at Meteora to Agamemnon's tomb. 

We had a great time. Saw many things within 8 days: Mainland Greece, lovely Greek taverns, nice hotels, places. Exceeded expectations.

There were too many travellers at times and the guide had to translate everything. She had no time to take questions.

Our week-long sailing trip in Greece was pure bliss, thanks in large part to our fantastic skipper, Elias. He was super chill, always up for a laugh, easy to talk to, and always ensured everyone was having a great time. His wealth of sailing experience and local knowledge was invaluable, helping us to discover hidden gems and secure the best spots in popular ports. The boat had enough space and was well-maintained, perfect for a group of friends. We were lucky to have a yoga instructor on board, who offered flexible sessions that fit right into our schedule. We were incredibly fortunate with the weather at the end of September, enjoying sunny days and refreshing swims throughout the week. While you sometimes needed a light sweater in the evenings, but at least it wasn’t too hot for sleeping. So, the overall climate was ideal for a relaxing sailing vacation. The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the surprise proposal planned by Elias. Without my knowledge, he adjusted the itinerary to create the perfect romantic setting for my partner to propose to me. This made our experience truly unforgettable. All in all, it was a fantastic week filled with good vibes, beautiful scenery, and unforgettable memories. We can't recommend this trip enough!

We recently completed an unforgettable sailing trip around the Greek Islands with Elias, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we boarded his boat in Athens, Elias welcomed us with warmth and hospitality, instantly making us feel at home. His passion for sailing, which spans over 40 years, truly shines through in every aspect of the journey. Each day was a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. We sailed for about three hours daily, stopping in picturesque bays to swim, paddleboard, and dive into the crystal-clear waters. In the evenings, we dined at charming tavernas in local harbors, where Elias' long-standing relationships with locals made us feel like VIPs.

This was my first tour I’ve taken before, so I was unsure of what to expect. My overall take away from this experience is poor. The hotels booked on the tour were well below expectations, being a 2⭐️at best, and that’s being generous. The hotel/guestroom we stayed at the two nights at the end was horrible, and I did not sleep either night. It was loud, with hardwood floors above me made sure I heard everything the people upstairs did, including bathroom and showering. It seriously looked like a room from the pirates of the Caribbean ride! Our guide recommended we eat at the hotel restaurant the last night there, which was a huge mistake. Over an hour and a half for our meals, when half of us ate already others didn’t even get their meals. After waiting that long they were cold. I ended up cancelling mine, as it was well after 9pm, we sat down at 7, and they hadn’t even cooked my pizza 1 1/2 hours later. All I which the guide stayed quiet and said nothing, even though she was sitting at our table!!! No apologies from the hotel or her! There wasn’t much guidance during the driving, and if hadn’t been for one of the passengers telling the guide to maybe talk on the drive, we probably would have sat in silence the entire time. She was very nice, and she did care if people were happy, but everything else was poor. The itinerary stated we would be back in Athens early afternoon on the last day, so people had made arrangements to see sights in Athens that were not covered in the tour, I myself had booked a ferry for that night so I could leave to the islands. Which I ended up having to change my entire last week in Greece, since we weren’t back in Athens until 6pm. Don’t tell your customers early afternoon when it’s evening. But that’s the extent of the communication throughout this tour: poor! The guides on the experiences were all pretty good, so I don’t have much to complain about that, and the driver of the bus was excellent! I cannot say enough praises about him, always helpful and he tried his best to communicate with everyone. He really saved this tour, as it is one of the only positive comment I can make. The planning of the tour was not done well, visiting the Ouzo factory at 10am, then having 1:45 hours of spare time in the town following didn’t make sense to anyone! Who wants to drink that early in the morning? There were experiences the passengers could’ve arranged at some of the stops, but due to the fact we knew nothing about them, we missed out on a lot of fun things, and that to me is unacceptable. The dinner included in our tour, not sure who decided the choices ( rabbit or rooster ) but they should be fired! I paid for that meal and didn’t even attend due to no options given that I can eat. Money wasted… Speaking of money, you guys make a killing off these tours hey?. I took the time to price out everything, and it’s not even close to what we paid. Maybe I wouldn’t mind as much if I could say it was worth it, but it definitely was not. If your company has any customer service at all, you should consider some sort of reimbursement to each person on this tour to make up for their poor experience. There is NO way this was premium anything, and I know every single person on this tour is making the same comments… what a let down to say the least. Being so excited for this trip and being constantly let down… Others were saying that usually the guide sticks around at the end of the tour to say good bye, ours couldn’t wait to leave once we were checked in. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this tour to anyone. False advertising at best! I’ll wait to see how your company handles this before posting this on your reviews.. but 12 people are beyond unhappy and disappointed! The only Positive was getting to meet some wonderful people from around the world. But definitely not an experience I would recommend to anyone. If you’re going to charge people the amount you do, then you should ensure its premium, not subpar! Some of the group has used your company many times, and they even said this was a disappointment. But they also said that your customer service is excellent, I’ll guess I will wait and see! Not the impression I was hoping to leave Greece with, which is sad really!

The bus I was assigned to broke down and therefore I was reassigned to another bus and tour guide. She was very knowledgeable - that was not the issue. The bus breaking down was not a problem either. However, I am disabled and have mobility issues (specifically, as of late I'm still recovering from right knee surgery). I took all the measures I could before traveling to Greece. I packed necessary pain medication, ice packs, took and used my cane daily during the tour and even got a steroid shot 10 days before travel to mitigate any issues. But the tour guide had an issue with me sitting in the front seat (behind the driver) during the week-long tour -- which in my experience is designated for people with disabilities anyway. I live in the United States, have a disabled placard and documentation with me should she had requested to see sit after I explained sitting there allowed me to travel more comfortably and rest/stretch my leg in between stops. Moreover, I sat there for several reasons: 1) My siblings and I were the last to be dropped off at hotels and therefore, the first to be picked up in the morning; 2) Sitting there allowed me to stretch my leg comfortably which helped improve circulation before/after walking on uneven pavement for hours a day and 3) I was not bothering anyone -- not the bus driver in front of me or her next to me. Well, she felt inclined to reassign me (she said she wanted passengers to take turns sitting there) and I had to sit on the very last row of the bus -- which caused me a lot of discomfort and pain. I think other passengers must have expressed concern for my wellbeing (after seeing me hobble to the back of the bus) because she then said, "You can sit in front of the bus to stretch your leg". Well, too little too late! I took pain medication to ease my severe discomfort which made me drowsy and sleepy for what was left of the tour. I travel internationally every year -- and sadly was VERY disappointed with Tour Radar. My brother suggested we try Tour Radar this time around. But I should have insisted on going with Go Ahead Tours to visit Greece. We have traveled with Go Ahead Tours in the past, a total of 7 times -- and they know how to treat their customers. She was knowledge in Greek history for sure -- but impolite. Please note, other passengers expressed the same sentiment to me during the tour.

Fabulous tour! A fantastic combination of Greek history, knowledgeable guide, incredibly responsive tour leader, good company and beautiful scenery! Food was amazing too - it felt like nearly every meal was home cooked and ultra-local!

We thought the tour was excellent however the Candia hotel was not in a great location.

This tour was very stressful and unhappy for us. The tour operator was disorganized and the itinerary was incomplete. In fact the operator initially canceled the trip because there weren’t enough people a few months after the initial booking and later put it back on. We could have lost airfare. During the tour, we had to call the tour operator a few times in the middle of the trip to make arrangements that were missing. We had a few gaps; a full day with unplanned free time and another half day with nothing to do which they remedied after our insistence. So, it was an experience we don’t want to see others going through. The part of the tour handled directly by the tour operator was disorganized and somewhat chaotic. But the parts handled by the other local parters in Athens, Istanbul and Cappadocia went smoothly, It is also a poor reflection of TourRadar promoting tours that are potentially unpleasant for customers like us who expect a good vacation experience.

We joined this tour with my husbend. The tour went very well organizated,On Balkans had a lot of borders but our guide did the best and we passed quickly.Hotels was good,Balkans food was really delishes and our guide was really helpfull.

Loving trip, would like to do it all again ❤️

Our trip with Thanos was out of this world. The itinerary changed due to weather conditions from day to day ensuring smooth sailing. The coves for swimming were so beautiful and clear. George the onboard chef made some of the most tasty local dishes which everyone on board thoroughly enjoyed. Thanos our guide was such a lovely person who provided so much information and took the group on walks to visit ancient Greek sites. We learnt so much on our 8 day tour. The transportation to and from the cruise was very well organised. We ate in excellent tavernas and restaurants each night and local wine was very nice. Thank you to Vangelas (sorry for the spelling) for being such a great captain of our vessel. I could not recommend this cruise more highly.

Our tour was great, but Matthew was terrible. I found him rude, his humor off color and my daughter and I felt like we were being led by a bored teacher rather than an informational guide. As a instructor myself, I understand how hard it is to keep a group together and on time. He also handled a bathroom emergency on the bus very indiscreetly and embarrassed and humiliated my daughter in front of the whole group. He focused far more attention on his french descriptions and messed up facts left and right. On our way back to Athens we spent 2 hours with another guide and learned more and got more enjoyment from the 2 hours with her than the whole time with Matthew.

Skip this Encounter Company. They just outsource everything to GO Greece travel agent. You can save hefty middleman fees. Also they wanted to charge almost double the internet rate for a hotel for extension of stay. In Santorini, although they stated a four star hotel, El Greco, they replaced it with Theoxania Hotel, not an equivalent. Understanderbly, El Greco was closed but the local agent tried to argue that the hotels are the same. Please go google and reach your own conclusion. Theoxania is more like a B and B place or at best, a 3 star hotel.

Great tours and guides. Friendly passengers also. Better than expected

I found the itinerary very good and the choice of archaeological sites excellent. Hotel and food were hit and miss for those included with a wide range of quality. Site guides were very good .
