Rhine Valley Tour Companies

The A-ROSA Rhine river cruise was excellent in many respects - food, staff, cabins, sites, itinerary etc. Unfortunately it was completely let down by terrible data connectivity. The ship's wifi was so weak that it was impossible to load a webpage, check emails etc. Even the staff were frustrated, as it was difficult for them to do their jobs efficiently, making arrangements for shore excursions, assisting with passenger inquiries etc. What it meant for me was that I couldn't log into my Aunt's funeral live stream, nor do a job interview through video conferencing. The excuse provided was that the system kept jumping between the German & French networks on each side of the Rhine. If the A-ROSA wants to attract passengers this needs to be fixed. Easy fix is for A-ROSA to invest in a satellite solution like Starlink.

The cruise was primarily for German guests. As there were only 10 English speaking guests on the ship all but one of the port excursions with an English speaking guide were cancelled. I would not recommend A-Rosa because of this.

Embarking on my first solo Contiki tour was both thrilling and nerve-wracking, but our guide made the entire experience unforgettable from the very start. Her vibrant personality and welcoming nature immediately put everyone at ease, transforming our group into a close-knit community. Her talent for uniting people was unparalleled. With her infectious energy and clever puns, she had a way of making every day feel special and fun. She knew exactly how to balance moments of laughter with informative insights, ensuring we all felt engaged and excited. No challenge was too big for her. Whether it was addressing individual concerns or managing group dynamics, she handled everything with grace and efficiency. Her commitment to our enjoyment was evident, always making time for us and prioritizing our experience. Her extensive knowledge about each destination added incredible depth to our journey. She shared captivating stories and took us to hidden gems that we would have never discovered on our own. Her passion for the places we visited was truly inspiring. Saying goodbye was tough, as we had all formed such strong bonds and unforgettable memories. Even after the trip, she kept in touch, showing genuine care for everyone in the group. I can't wait for the chance to travel with her again.

I am very satisfied by exploring as many places as possible and adding all the activities during the trip. On some days, the schedule was a little tight but we were all aware of that so it was still fine.

The cuisine, the food and the service were excellent! The route was good, the information that there is no possibility to reach the city on your own at the landing place Rastatt was missing. There was a bus stop on site, but unfortunately no bus came! The excursion on offer was very expensive. The excursion to Rüdesheim with a visit to the vineyards and wine tasting was a joke! Serving the wine in shot glasses and a dry, small pretzel at the wine tasting is not possible! Not a sip of water, nothing else for the price, really a joke! It would have been nice to at least get out and taste the grapes in the vineyard. The musical instrument museum was interesting. Perhaps the information was given in French, there was no information in German! Our German-speaking translator translated in 1 minute what was said in French for 10 minutes.

Despite the high level of the Rhine causing navigation issues this being my first river cruise was a great experience. The cabin was roomy enough, comfortable and clean. The meals served were generous and delicious. We can’t speak highly enough of the staff. The entire crew from cleaning to kitchen to wait staff to hosts everyone was amazingly friendly. We were the only two English speaking guests and this was not a problem as all staff made us feel at home. We loved the CROISI experience and the ship. We are already thinking of our next cruise.

A lovely experience! Relaxed ambience, very good cruise directors, wonderful cabin, friendly staff, superb food.

What we missed: other travel companies offered a mini all inclusive, where the drinks with the meal were included. In addition, I was not offered advance booking of the excursions either in Nedtz or when booking by telephone. This was probably also the case with other providers and since hardly any excursions were booked, they were canceled. We didn't think that was so good. Otherwise the restaurant, service and cabin were great Margret Radermacher

Was an outstanding cruise. Very well organized and we got exactly out of it what we wanted. Just the right mix of activity with rest.

We were pleased with the design of the tour and the responsiveness of EuroBike. The bikes were in excellent condition and our luggage arrived in a timely fashion each day. There are two issues we had: 1. We received misinformation regarding the first day of the bike and tour documents handover. This created a great deal of uncertainty and confusion. 2. Hotel Asgard in Worms is a hotel that should never be used. It is in a terrible location and doesn’t have air conditioning. The staff were wonderful at the hotel, but the location is very noisy and it is in a very unscenic part of town. There are surely better hotels in Worms than this one.
