First of all, it took Tour Radar 7 days to reply to my questions. The first 2 days of the tour were OK. On the third night, at the “lodge”, i slept on the worst mattress in my life. Let me say it again, i slept on metal springs. To use the bathroom or the shower, i had to leave the building, second floor, go across long courtyard to another building to use a bathroom! The tour guide at Aquas Calientes gave me a ticket to Machu Picchu and MP. Mountain with instructions to text him when I was done with the mountain, so he can give me a tour of Machu Picchu. I got up at 4:30 in the morning to be one of the first at the gate. When I presented the ticket, i was told that i had a ticket for the wrong date!!! So I had to wait for over an hour for my guide to show up with a different ticket. In a mean time, thousands of other tourists went inside, preventing me to photograph without tourists. And the best time to photograph, the sunrise, was gone. Also, i asked the guide what to do with my luggage while I am hiking in Machu Picchu and he told me to leave it in the hotel. Wrong! Check out was at 10 in the morning. So I had to rush from the mountain to check out on time. No Machu Picchu Mountain! The company should have known about 10 AM checkout. Also hotel did not have hot water for 4 hours. Finally, if checkout is at 10, and my train ticket is for 14:55, I had to sit in the lobby for 3 hours! Not good planning. The website stated that porters: horses, donkeys and cars will be carrying luggage up to 5 kg. On day 4, I had to carry it. There were many other things but i am giving you just the highlights.
- by Fima GelmanWe had some delays because one person in our group got altitude sickness bad on day 2, vomiting and dizzy, they had an emergency kit and were very prepared to deal with this. The person had to be carried over the pass by a horse (great this option is available!). I felt bad for the guy, but also was reassured that our guide was capable of dealing with the situation. Once he got down to 2,000 meters he was much better thank god!

The tour was amazing. We had a smaller, more intimate group and an amazing Guide "Roger" who was very knowledgable of all the areas we journeyed. You could tell he really was passionate about his work and loves what he does. The landscapes were stunningly beautiful and different day to day. The food was amazing and plenty of it thanks to Chef Bertrand and A/Chef Cenobio. I felt completely supported and taken care of. Everything was organized and well operated. I would highly recommend this experience. 5/5.
- by Susan HamiltonAbsolute a fantastic experience. The food prepared is awesome. Even better than a restaurant. Thanks to our chef Zenovio and sous chef Dario. Despite landslides our horseman, Elicio, was able to bring our luggage to the next checkpoint. An amazing work. And of course our guide Manolo. This is really a wonderful person and a reason on itself to do the trup. Trexperience have a fantastic team working for them. Last thank goes to my personal guide Adrian who guided me very well through Machu Picchu. The knowledge and passion made this visit above expectations

This was an excellent day-hike to a scenic lake about 3 hours from Cusco and provided a good warmup hike in preparation for the Inca Trail. Our English-speaking guide (David) was very supportive of the hikers in our group and provided ample time at the lake for photos, exploration (i.e. up on the ridge above Humantay Lake), snacking, and conversation. Everything about this tour was top-notch and deserves to be on your itinerary when visiting Cusco!

Wonderful and challenging tour. Excellent guide, fantastic food and service. An amazing way to reach Machu Picchu!
This was an amazing experience, The trip was memorable, but the staff made it unforgettable. Our guide, Ronald, was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable, helpful in all ways, spoke English well, and was a great guy to spend time with. Our chef, Mario, was excellent—you can’t imagine the food he made for us. The selection and amount was abundant. There were just two of us, and we were well taken care of for the whole trip. Inkayni Peru Tours is the best!

Best experience of my life with Wilbert! Although it was the most challenging mental and physical journey, it was also the most awarding. Wilbert was kind , knowledgeable, and flexible. We saw the most beautiful parts of Salkantay trek and Cusco. Highly recommend to ANYONE who is coming to Peru.
- by Hardeep Rana (Deep)I did the 5-day tour to Salkantay, the Inkayni agency is very careful, everything very well organized, the places to sleep very nice and comfortable. Our guide Herlin was very friendly and with a good command of English and a great facility to make the group feel like a family, very attentive to everyone. The food was abundant, hot, varied, and delicious. A muleteer carries your big backpack, which makes the experience much more comfortable. I took pictures of beautiful landscapes that cannot be described in words. I would definitely hire the agency again for this and other treks.

SO hard but so amazing. Our guide (whose name I cannot remember as this was now almost 2 years ago) was phenomenal.
- by Abigail MillerWhile I really enjoyed the trek there were some key issues that affected how good the trek was. 1. The daily description for the trek was incorrect and the trek did not follow that itinerary. 2. At the pre-travel briefing the person did not have any of the equipment. It says on the itinerary that a duffle bag will be provided, instead I was given a canvas sack that had a rip in it and was therefore not waterproof. 3. The sleeping bag I was provided was too small for me to fit in, additionally, the zipper was broken. This made for an extremely cold first night. 4. It says in the briefing that water after the first morning will be provided, this was not the case and I had to purchase water along the trek as the guides said that it wasn’t included. 5. I was not given the opportunity to choose my train time to return to Cusco, therefore, as I had to change it, it cost me an additional $34USD. 6. My entrance to Machu Picchu was not one of the first to enter as stated in the itinerary, the remainder of my group entered at 6am, however, my ticket was booked for 7am and I was therefore left outside to wait. Once I entered, I had to find the group and missed half of the tour. Extremely disappointing!!! 7. I was not given all the inclusions as stated in the ‘inclusions’ part of the itinerary. No day pack cover, no t-shirt and no blanket. While as I said I enjoyed the trek, I was very disappointed with the inconsistencies. Therefore I am requesting a partial refund as I did not receive everything as stipulated in the website, and was forced to pay additional expenses when the pre-brief said that it would be included. The tour guides were excellent and I can not recommend them enough! Regards, Tim Coulter

I will start with the benefits of trip. The nature at the begining is really beutifull and cooks are really masters and served really good food. First one small problem was in guide who was a little bit confused and his informations was a false sometimes. but the biggest problem was in last day. We paid for macchu piccu and montaňa, but we have just 3 hours for visit it all, so it is impossible to get it in the time. I dont know why we had to go in the bus at 2 pm, when way back to bus statiton is 2h.
- by Patrik ZimmerSalkantay trek is very popular in Perú. We had an excellent food for the whole way which was very appropriate after a hike. Everything was according to plan except that on the last day we had to return to Cusco already at 2p.m. We didn't have much time for Machu Picchu and to climb up Montaña. It was in rush to get to bus station 10km away from there. The end of the last day was badly organized.

A challenging adventure. What was the most inspirational moment of your trip? As we performed a ritual thanking the mountains for a safe arrival at Chiriasqa pass at 5000m a condor appeared and flew just above us. Seeing Machu Picchu for the first time upon arrival at the Sun Gate. Being so close to Salcantay. What did you think of your group leader? Maritza was a very competent leader capable of dealing with everything presented to her. Do you have any advice for potential travellers? Take at least two large packs of wet wipes, a spare battery for your camera, a good three season sleeping bag and Merino tee shirts and thermals. If you can squeeze it in then also take a pillow. I also recommend getting two or three dry bags from a camping shop to keep your clothes in when packing your duffle bag. Go at your own pace but don't stop for too long to catch your breath as you'll get cold. Is there anything else you would like to add? A good diversity on this trip. The first half of the trek was totally deserted and extreme compared with the masses encountered on the Inca trail on the second half of the Trek. Yet both parts were thoroughly enjoyable for different reasons. The camping areas were in spectacular locations.
- by Anthony EasthopeWonderful trek, highly recommended. Although the Inca Trail itself is well worth doing it's relatively busy, so to have four days trekking in the high mountains before that with hardly another tourist in sight added so much to the experience. What was the most inspirational moment of your trip? Reaching the end of the Inca Trail and seeing Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate is great, but camping next to Salkantay glacier and walking alongside the mountain up to the Inca Chiriasqa pass was even better. What did you think of your group leader? Arturo was great fun and very knowledgable; apart from running the trek he was well able to talk us round the various Inca sites without a guide. Staff were excellent, and the standard of meals on trek was amazingly high. Do you have any advice for potential travellers? We were pretty lucky with the weather and most days were sunny and mild, but camping at 4000 metres is cold. Really cold. Who'd have thought it?
