Amazing your. Super professional and well organized. Packs a lot into 7 days but it was perfect for people trying to pack a lot in and see a lot in a short amount of time. Tegan was the best!!! Knew so much and spoke so passionately about New Zealand and Māori culture. Was so nice to learn. And she is just the best
- by Alison ShapiroTom and Robbie both were amazing tour guides. The big south was 10 out of 10 experience. Weather definitely will play a big role in your activities. The flexibility of the guides makes the trip free more like a family and friends on holiday. It was so an illuminating experience with everyone that came. 20 April - 3 May best weather!! First week we had 18 people and the next week, 7.

The trip is well organised and you get to cover a lot of places in the southern island. Our guide was Josh and he tried to make sure everyone felt included and learned as much as possible about New Zealand. We were asked for opinions, what we would like for breakfast, we had time for ourselves too, we even went out for dinner and had a nice and relaxing time.
This tour is excellent for anyone wanting a quick trip to see all the major spots in the South Island. Heaps of amazing activities that you can do. Highly recommend going for walks at each spot to find all the hidden gems. :)

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour. The group we were a part of was just exceptional and we loved our time with them. Our guide was knowledgeable, amusing and bent over backward to make our time with him fulfilling, educational and comfortable. Our time wasn't without adversity, as a major road closure altered our itinerary significantly on one day. The alternate agenda turned out to be a fantastic experience. The only downside was that while the overnight accommodations were adequate, a couple were severely cramped for space. This may just be par for the course in New Zealand though and we adjusted accordingly. It was still a 5 of 5 adventure.
Although Rod, the driver was very nice I felt that Intrepid had not organised the tour as well as previous Intrepid tours I have done. It was very overpriced for what was provided. The van had a broken seat belt attachment with a sharp edge which ruined a down jacket I had bought for the trip. I have asked Intrepid about it but received no reply.

I loved the South Island, I was able to discover so much on this tour. Thanks Ben for driving safely, being punctual and caring. I’d definitely recommend backyard roadies to my friends !
As I’m 65 years so a lot older than the rest of the group I was nervous at the start. But I was made welcome and fitted into the group well. I avoided the adrenaline trips but was able to be myself and really enjoyed the trip. I was given bottom bunks and would definitely be recommending this group to my peers. Thank you

This tour was an unforgettable way to see the best of New Zealand's South Island in just 11 days! Perfect for the first-time travelers interested in exploring this beautiful island. The tour was well-organized, with comfortable hotels, and a great group of like-minded tourists. Most importantly, James, our local Maori tour guide made all the difference on this trip! He was attentive to the wishes of everyone individually and ensured we all were able to experience the landmarks and the activities we came to enjoy. He freely shared his personal knowledge of local and Maori customs, history, and culture, a standout perk you won't find anywhere else! We left New Zealand with many wonderful photos and endless memories of this amazing trip!
- by Tammy WilsonHad a brilliant time on the Weka trip. Lots of opportunity to go for walks. Abel Tasmin was brilliant. Fantastic boat trip on Milford Sound. Had some dreadful weather, resulted in road flooding,Katy did an amazing job driving through a major flood and also driving in bad visibility rain conditions. Nothing was too much for Katie always smiling and sorting us out and made sure we were well stocked with provisions.. big thanks, Jools

Beware, this tour does not operate fully throughout the year and if, like us, the Tranz Alpine Railway is not running on your specific tour then bad luck. This is not even mentioned in their prospectus!
- by David GashI thoroughly enjoyed my tour. The guide, Isobel, paid very good attention to details and the comfort of her tourists.I felt safe and secure in the bus as Mark's driving was very competent and Isobel was delightful, patient and full of fun, a real people person. She and Mark worked well together, meal times, departure times and other important information was provided well in advance. Good provision was made for frequent stops to allow for toilet breaks and the purchase of refreshments. I liked their attention to time keeping. For me, everything worked smoothly which made the tour relaxed and stress free. I would highly recommend Isobel and Mark.

Right from the very start with a very detailed itinerary, with our very professional guides Nicki and Sarah, who made sure our cycling journey was enjoyable, fun, safe and a memorable experience. It was our first organised bike tour, and unsure what to expect. We were picked up in Queenstown, shuttled to Clyde, outfitted then shuttled to Cromwell to begin the adventure. The weather couldn't have been better, with the exception of a strong headwind to Middlemarch on day 4. All the accommodation was very comfortable and the food choices were great. Our bags were transported to the next accommodation without any issues. Our whole Otago Rail Trail ride went without a hitch, we had a terrific group of people on the ride, and Nicky and Sarah made sure we had everything we needed. Organisation, friendliness of staff, professionalism, safety and equipment. They have the complete setup from start to finish. We will be booking again with them.
- by Valerie HushChris, our one guide was exceptional. The tour group was very good. Weather was good. What more could you ask for?

Overall the itinerary was good. Would have liked to include a T trip to Wellington and a day in Christchurch. The hotels in Queenstown and Franz Joseph though good were not in the town and arranging for transportation to the city for dinners were problematic. Would recommend better lodging in the city. The pickups and drops were good except in Auckland where the taxi to the airport arrived almost 1.5 hrs late with very poor communications or updates. The tour guides were good.. Overall it was a memorable trip. We were surprised that nobody from Tourradar or BucketList were there to meet us at any point of the trip.
- by Sastry TatapudyThe tour went ok in the end despite a couple of set backs due to adverse whether conditions of two main tour activities.
