This was a great experience. What made this tour unique was that it included private transportation to many places not normally included in tours. We feel we have a good idea now about what the Salento region has to offer. Emilio and Clara were excellent hosts. We learned about olive oil production, visited a winery, an artisan pasta plant, and a ceramics factory. The meals at the Masseria reflected local cuisine and were delicious. Excursions included Lecce, Alberobello, Ostuni, Gallipoli, Castro, Tricase and several others. After a week in Salento, we were driven to Matera which is an amazing place, somewhat other-worldly. Numerous movies were filmed there. Our hotel was the most unusual place we will ever stay in. It was a former cave beautifully repurposed. Interestingly, we appeared to be the only American tourists wherever we were on this trip. I highly recommend this tour.

I travelled with my 24 yo daughter on this tour in late January. We really enjoyed this experience! Plenty of activity and flexibility. It was an opportunity to see in-depth a beautiful and unusual part of Italy, learn about some of the history and culture and experience their way of life. The tour operator was responsive and dependable - tour as described. Our hosts in Salento were wonderful! The Matera extension was well worth including - an incredible place. For us this holiday was a very authentic cultural experience, which was exactly what we were looking for.

The tour was great. Our host, Emilio did a fabulous job between showing us Puglia and cooking outstanding food. He is a chef first! The only source of disappointment was that I expect the tour to be of more people. I understood it to be about 10 people and it turned out to be only 2.
