- Susan· July 29th, 2024The cooking class in Taormina was great. The winery outside Taormina was very nice. The winery near Mt. Etna was nice. The Drive to Syracuse with stop in Noto was fine but not too much info was given about Syracuse when we were dropped off. We had to figure out where the main shops, restaurants, etc were on our own. Walking tour of Ortigia was mediocre. Guide didn’t seem too into it and was late to arrive. The drive to Palermo was very long and the driver/guide barely talked to us. Never told anything about the places/towns we were driving by etc. The Palermo tour guide was the best of all. Very informative and engaging. I really loved spending the 3 nights in Taormina so would recommend it be extended to 3 nights in each location so you can really settle and add in any rest days as needed. We were taken care of from the moment we arrived, given updates to the itinerary daily, and any problems were dealt with immediately. The food, wine, guides and transfers, were all first class all the way. Massimo and Gaziana, although we never met them, were with us from the beginning to the end of the trip.
