    The process of purchasing the 8 day Sicily Food and Wine tour was not remarkable or terrible.

    Communication was very confusing- instructions for hotels, meeting times etc had been given prior, but were constantly changed by What’s App message- not viable without WiFi. It was not made clear that we would not be having a tour guide, hence the piecemeal nature of the tour was not efficient. Some of the participants were not accommodated at the same hotel, and the hotels themselves varied between standards of rooms- the Taormina Park hotel room that I was assigned was very old, smelly with flooding air conditioning and language difficulties with the reservation desk - something that would have been eased with an accompanying guide.
