- Arina· April 5th, 2023We had a great experience with Altezza travel. Our main guide was Shabani. He and his team made our journey safe and very comfortable. Everyday several times medical check up. Any requiered information on the tour - guides know everything. They even know how to make exhausted people move - using songs! All of our big (12 persons) company ascended the summit together. It was unforgettable. Also big thanks to the cooks. In the morning coffee or tea to the tent, every evening bunny warmers, cake for birthday, delicious food during the day, tea breaks during day-route - this was very caring and always with kind smiles. The only thing we got to do was to move ahead. The rest hard job was done by the team - to bring heavy gear, to pack and place camp, to cook and also to care about tourists - and everything with warm attitude. Great job, Altezza 👍🏾Show moreTrip date: March 2023
- SSarahMoore· July 18th, 2021We had an unforgettable experience last week on this tour. We were a group of 4 women with limited to some hiking experience. Anna and Stasia from Altezza were very responsive leading up to our booking. They were very easy and transparent regarding all the booking details. During the trip, our guides Baraka and Gerald were highly professional throughout our trek. They made sure that we were as comfortable as possible. This included all the small things, such as making sure we got enough lights for dinner and bringing more if we needed, as well as the big things, such as making sure that we summited! Baraka and Gerald were highly experienced as guides, and made sure to adjust their walking speeds to the individual needs of our group. They were also very personable, friendly and extremely approachable if we ever had questions (and we had many!). In addition, the rest of the crew (there were 20 people in total), that helped us were all highly attentive and very competent- we could not have done this without them. The food from our chef Justin was delicious - we’ve never had soup as creamy and eggs cooked the way he makes them- it stood out as unparalleled hiking food! Our server Benson told us really funny stories about his many trips in the mountains while he prepared dinner. The rest of the crew who worked behind the scenes tirelessly made everything seamless! We couldn’t have asked for more. Some tips in addition to the other ones you may find online: 1. Bring Vaseline - it gets really dry in the mountains so that would really help. 2. It also gets very dusty in the mountain, so if you have dust allergies, you might need some medication. Even if you are not allergic to dust, it may be good to bring a bandana or something equivalent to keep off the dust. 3. Rent the portable toilet!!! It is much better than the public restrooms, and relatively clean. Much more convenient if you need to go at night. 4. Bring an extra roll of toilet paper- you won’t need it for the toile if you rent the portable toilet, but it is useful if your nose runs because it gets cold. 5. Bring extra hand warmers if you can. In addition to using them on Summit Day, some mornings are also cold. The crew does give you heated rubber bottles for warmth as well- so this is just for extra comfort. 6. Bring mouthwash! Some nights are somewhat cold, so you may choose to mouthwash rather than do the full floss/brush. Makes you feel cleaner for sure. Same goes for disposable baby wipes in addition to a camping towel (quick dry so you don’t have to use a wet one the next day!) 7. Bring extra snacks if you can- the crew never will ask you for food, but we think they really appreciate it when you share. Same goes for anything else you think you can spare. Sharing is caring! 8. Ask questions! We learned quite a bit about the mountains and the lives of our entire crew when we did- it was very rewarding learning more about the local culture and language.Show moreTrip date: May 2021
- CCCarl· May 18th, 2021Transfers, attentiveness, professionalism, consistency...you name it, Altezza checks off every box. I ( and the other 15 members of our group) were constantly raving of our guides, chefs and porters. They honestly made our climb seem like a 5 star experience on a mountain. From the minute we woke, until we closed our eyes at night, everything was done with consistency and professionalism. The food was different every single day (and so yummy!), our camp sites were always ready for us when we arrived, medical checks were done twice a day, and so much more. Oh, we had hot water-bottle-bunnies given to us each night at bedtime to put in our sleeping bags to keep us warm. Just one more thing we became accustomed to. We knew what to expect every single day due to their communication with us and the overall format they followed. There were many laughs and tears as well left the mountain. We grew close to these men and shared the ups and downs (literally) over the course of 7 days. They aided us in every way possible. They made us feel at home. They sang and danced (for us) and with us, we shared a New Year's cake with them that they carried up the mountain for us. Again, I can go on and on and on..... I own a travel agency and I can not wait to have my clients partner with Altezza.Show moreTrip date: February 2020
- RRaymond· May 11th, 2021We booked this trip through a travel agent so was unsure of the supplier when we arrived. We had a proper briefing with one of the staff and she was professional and helpful from the start. We were completely blown away by how great everything was (tent set up, porters, guides, food, etc.) Our guide Joseph was the absolute best, I struggled on the summit day as I was absolutely exhausted and didn’t think I could keep going. Joseph fed me jellybeans, wiped my snotty nose and most importantly believed in me. He was so knowledgeable, spoke perfect English and was just very pleasant to be around. The entire crew was smiling, welcoming and it felt that they enjoyed their jobs as porters. They really are amazing the way they take all that weight up the mountain. The tent was one of our favorite parts as the dining area is attached to where we slept so walking in between was perfect. My husband is 6’2 and he has never been able to stand up in a tent, he was excited. The food also was great, had lots of flavor and variety. Alpha the cook & Emanuel the waiter were so attentive to our needs, especially me being a vegetarian. The schedule of how much we would walk to each camp was perfect and we felt the pace set by Joseph and Gerald really helped us with a successful ascent. I would highly recommend this company as everything felt seamless, the crew sang a song to us at the end and it actually choked me up! They were incredible people to meet. Really enjoyed this experience.Show moreTrip date: December 2020
- SSamanta· May 6th, 2021I traveled with Altezza for the second time. My first visit to the National Parks was in October 2020. There we met the managers of Altezza, and I noticed how prepared in travel management they were. They offered me to summit Mt.Kilimanjaro and I was immediately hooked on it.Though I have never been over 3000 m, I came home thinking over it and eventually booked a 7-day hike. At home, I spent a lot of time training for the climb. The guys met me, took to the hotel and prepared the missing equipment. I had a day of relax and then we started. There were seven people in our group: two Chines, two American and three Russian travelers. Climbing has passed on hurray and the organization on the top rating. Everything was perfect. We caught many picturesque vistas and experienced indelible emotions. I recommend everyone to climb Kili!Show moreTrip date: October 2020

- LLongorositour· May 1st, 2021Together with my parents I climbed the Uhuru peak on December 21, 2019 and it was worth trying though it was super tough and cold during the night of a climb. Kilimanjaro is an amazing place - you will pass all climatic zones, have chance to meet incredible people, discover your own fears and feel your dreams. I can recommend Altezza travel if you are looking for a company to organize your climb.Show moreTrip date: December 2019
