- AAnke· February 18th, 2018My round the worldtrip ended in Nepal, where I joined the iconic basecamp trek with Gokyo valley, organised by mountainkick. I am absolutely very happy I chose this agency. First of all, the communication beforehand was excellent; Gourav responded very quickly to all my e-mails, giving me all the right information that I needed. Initially I signed up for a group trek but since it was low-season there were no other bookings, which meant I was going solo with a guide and a porter. I had to get used to this idea but Gourav reassured me that I would have a good time, I would meet a lot of other hikers at the guesthouses and that I was going with an experienced guide. And he was absolutely right. I had the best time! The beautiful country, the stunning mountains, the physical challenge and achieving a goal like reaching basecamp made my trip a very good one, but it wouldn't have been the same without the guide, Kumar. Without him I would have been lost for about 100 times. He has a great knowledge about the area, explained a lot about the culture, the mountainarea, was up for a nice chat or joke but let me walk with my music and thoughts as well, and most importantly, took good care of me at the times I was worrying about altitudesickness, when I had a stomachproblem, and when the flight to Lukla got cancelled due to the weatherconditions, he made sure we would have a good shot the next day. It is clear for me that mountainkick is a very thrustworthy agency where people work with lots of experience and passion for the mountains. Would definitely recommend them.Show moreMountain Kick commented on this reviewThank you Anke for your great review. Hope to see you again in Nepal :)Trip date: February 2018
