This was a fabulous tour. It exceeded our expectations. The driver/organizer George handled all our needs to a very high standard, especially when my wife developed some health issues. He made necessary changes in the background without any disruption to our enjoyment of our tour. On this tour you will find a variety of sites to visit from the Parthenon to the modern city of Napflion. From Mycenae to Olympia and many interesting place in-between and after. Be prepared for a mind blowing experience. Now for the food. Being in a small group allowed us to have meals in small family restaurants with the delicious local meals. This tour has been described as a "foodie" tour with some archeology thrown in. (Lots of archeology) Here is a load shout out to our guide Babis. His encyclopedic knowledge of all things Greek, both ancient and modern along with a story telling method of presenting all that knowledge in a very informative and easy to follow way.

a wonderful trip with George and a very special guide Sofia. it was tough walking at times but there is really no way around that on the ancient sites. George did his best to reduce some of the tough walking. George goes out of his way to arrange interesting and varied hotels, all were good to excellent. George takes you only to good local restaurants where you can experience a full range of Greek cuisine. in total we counted 64 different dishes. we only had moussaka once and it was very good. George sweats the details. we lucked out , a six person tour toured out to be a private tour for my wife and I , a special treat.

The Paradisial Peloponese tour was more than amazing it was simply unforgettable! Every detail was carefully thought out, planned out, and was giving much love and care to really show us the beauty of Greece in terms of history, culture, food, beverages, activities, and accommodations! My now fiancé Nick and I will never ever forget Yorgos (George) and Aristotle our tour guide. They brought us to one of the most amazing places we've ever been! It was such a unique, one of a kind place, that my Nick knew that would be the place he would propose to me. This place was Monemvasia...an old historic castle. We stayed overnight within the fortified city walls and simply experienced a private getaway. Every street you turned to walk on was breathtaking there was not an ugly corner whatsoever in this city! Nick and I made the hike up the cliffside to the top of the castle and that's when Nick proposed and I of course said yes! We later celebrated with our private tour group that night. There was so much more on this trip that was amazing and Nick and I know that we will be back to book another tour with Yorgos and Pictours ot Greece!

George was gracious every day. He lined up excellent, high quality lodging at each stop. Some were spectacular. He is committed to finding a taking us to superb and local Greek restaurants. Each stop on our nine days was flawless. the pace was just right. We saw Agean Sea Port towns and key ruins and museums, as well as mountain ranges, back roads, a fish farm (catch and eat :).

My husband and I were guided around Athens and the Peloponnese by Pictours in 2024. Based on our experience here are my top 10 reasons to pick Pictourto have the vacation of a lifetime. 1. Of nearly 100 holidays, this was the most unique - everyday I was seeing and doing something memorable; whether it was me catching a trout fish (later served as lunch) or learning Greek cooking (yes, including fish). 2. George delivers the big 3: Cleanliness, Comfort, and Caring. The van is beyond spotless, every ride, every day. Every effort is to make things easy and he and in this case his knowledgeable aid, Aristotle, treat you like a treasured family member. 3. Individualized attention: We were part of a small group, but each person's needs and interests were attended to at every site, meal and every hotel stay. 4. Flexibility: One morning there was the possibility of rain. So plans changed and we did indoor activities before going outdoors when the sun was shining. I know this wouldn't always be possible, but if it is possible, it will happen. 5. Food - We are foodies and this was as much a gourmet food tour as a history/archaeological/cultural tour. We looked forward to the meals and sites equally. Breaks for coffee are respected. 6. Surprises: I won't mention the specific surprises but George always has at least one little surprise every day. He never oversells, and then wow! - everyone is experiencing some special part of Greek life. 7. Pride - George takes enormous pride in his tours - he is trustworthy and you feel safe. 8. Meet the locals - At a few stops, George introduced us to his favorite stores and sales folk - no pressure, ever, but lovely to have access to his finds! 9. Extraordinaire guides – I could write another 10 reasons that the tour special due to our guide, Aristotle a certified guide, a PhD in Archaeology and a student of History. He was an earnest font of information and stories, easy to be with and we learned so much as historical sites came alive with his narratives. He was with us throughout the week and became a mentor and friend. He was open to any and all questions and our conversations during the tours and at meals which including current events were fascinating. Aristotle might start with a well known story about a place or event and follow this with, “Want to know the real story?” Aristotle’s theme shirts are a special addition to each day. I think there are a number of guides that work with PICTOURS, but assume they are on the same high caliber. 10. Like minded travelers - There is lots of walking on the tour and it seems to attract an easy going, flexible crowd (at least that was our case). Inter-generational friendships flourished. I virtually never write reviews, but I would like everyone to experience PICTOURS and get to experience the best of Greece.

What a terrific tour! We explored Athens and its antiquities and many towns and sites off the beaten path on the Peloponnese peninsula. Some highlights included the Acropolis museum, wine tasting, spending a night in a medieval castle, the Diros caves, great food and hotels, and so much more. What made the tour so special was the tour guide, Athina, who was a walking encyclopedia of Greek history, culture and mythology., which enriched all of our experiences. George, the tour owner, was our driver and he added charm and color to the trip. Loved the group and highly recommend this tour.
