- kehchang· June 5th, 2023This self-guided tour is well designed and planned. The RideWithGps directions are clear in every details. The everyday route and ride length is good, not too hard or too long. They provided a battery bag to hang on the bike. It worked well and allowed me to connect my battery pack to the phone. One suggestion is to deliver the luggage to the hotel earlier, e.g. 1pm or 2pm, instead of 3pm. Because you might arrive the hotel earlier and need to shower and change. I enjoyed the ride through out. Thank you.Show moreTrip date: May 2023
- Jeff· May 23rd, 2023Cycle Europe makes bicycle tourism easy and fun. We completed a self-guided route and it felt like a completely independent trip, but we never had to consider a single logistical hurdle. Everything went smoothly, the routes were incredible, and the overnight stays gave us the opportunity to truly explore Tuscany. Just a brilliant tour!Show moreCycle Europe commented on this reviewHi Jeff, We are so happy to know you had a great experience, and we hope to have you back in the future on another Italy cycling tour!Trip date: May 2023
- AAnthonyLawler· May 4th, 2022We created a self-guided tour starting in Florence through San Gimignano, Siena, Montepulciano and ending in Arezzo. The Cycle Europe team was very helpful in setting things up, recommendations and the delivery and collection of the bikes in different cities. The bikes were excellent, the fitting and service too. I will def use this team again and next time I will use their route planning service but we did not have enough lead-time to do that for this tour. Highly recommend!Show moreTrip date: April 2022

- Peter· September 10th, 2018Heads up. CycleEurope is owned by Americans. We were hoping for a locally-owned guide company (like we've used in Spain and France). Overall, this company is NOT for cyclists - more for recreational tourists that are not used to cycling or Europe. The bikes were very poor - mine was too small despite my many requests beforehand for a large bike. We ended up switching it with another bike and, get this, the rear brakes literally fell apart 10km from our destination (try riding Tuscany with no back break!). They say they are high quality but I can tell you they are not even close - recreation bikes at best. Second, the accommodations were very poor. Most were dumpy, small and smelled of cigarette smoke. Not sure why they make you stay in certain towns like Vinci - cool place to visit but why not find accommodation at a real cool nearby place? We cycled Spain in 2016 and they did an amazing job at accom. This was very low grade places. We upgraded were possible but still very poor. Third, the routing was ok, not great, not bad. They did do a good job at finding some backroads into towns which is nice but we would prefer better scenery then some of the routes. The first couple days were nice and then it got worse. Overall, would not recommend as they are not local so just don't have the knowledge of an Italian cycling company. If you are an experienced cyclist, steer clear. If you want nice places to stay, steer clear. If you are ok with cheap bikes, modest accommodations, then go for it.Show moreCycle Europe commented on this reviewDear Peter This is Javier writing from the Cycle Europe office in Italy.
