- TKThomas· October 24th, 2024Our guide, Ieva, was attentive and knowledgeable. I give it a 4 out of five only because I've had a better experience with another tour company.Trip date: September 2024
- Emma· October 10th, 2024This was my first Explore tour and overall was good. The guide was professional but I didn't really connect with her, I think she only spoke to me once to confirm I didn't have a transfer booked at the end. Her commentary was monotonous and most people zoned out. There were local guides in most places (you need to pay EUR25 to a kitty as a tip for these guides and the driver which she managed). The hotels were generally good locations, quality varied as usual on a tour, some a little quirky and Riga was lovely but being in the centre of the old town was noisy from people walking past all night from the bars and a number of people didn't get much sleep. The bus was the biggest disappointment. It was very old, had broken seat backs and seat belts but as technically there were 16 working seats it was classed as ok. We also didn't have any air for the first 6 days till they got someone to look at it. We had 16 people on our tour and all were very nice, a good mix of nationalities, 3 couples but majority single travellers. I found the tour well paced with multiple nights in most locations and got to see the countries more than just the capitals. I had a couple of extra nights at the beginning of the end, which I recommend as there's not enough time in Tallin or Vilnius on the tour (in my opinion).Show moreTrip date: September 2024
- STSueAnn· August 26th, 2024I really enjoyed experiencing the Baltics, especially our guide Ona's insights and stories. We were fortunate not only to have mostly excellent weather but also to be in Riga for its annual birthday party, with a variety of musicians and activities everywhere, plus in Vilnius for its 35th celebration of the Baltic Way. Other highlights included Tallinn, the Rundale Palace, and Curonian Spit National Park, although Kaunas seemed kind of like a "filler" stop. The hotels were mostly good, although the Stadium beds were small and uncomfortable, and the buses were large enough for each of us to have an entire row. The only real issue I had was with the included taxi to the Vilnius airport, which was very stressful because the driver didn't speak any English and demanded payment, even after I insisted he call my guide. But otherwise, the tour was well-organized and I look forward to more Explore! tours in the future.Show moreExplore! commented on this reviewThank you for sharing your experience! - RSRobert· August 22nd, 2024The hotel in Tallinn was awful. For $3,000 there was no excuse for such a pathetic place. The fact that you only gave us one day in Tallinn, plus no advice to see Pirita is inexcusable. Thank God I have a friend who grew up there who made me go there. The hotel on the island was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. & I've now been to every country in Europe & most countries in Asia. You must have made a lot of money on us putting us in that hotel for children. It was an English-speaking tour. You could have put us in hotels that at minimum had a news outlet in English. Why two nights on the island & two nights in Tartu. That was a waste of two nights. You're not worth my time talking about everything. Basically you suck.Show moreExplore! commented on this reviewThank you for your review. I am sorry you were disappointed with the hotel in Tallinn, this usually rates highly with our customers. As you are free to arrive in Tallinn during the day before the trip starts, there is time to visit Pirita if you... Show moreTrip date: August 2024

- ALeanne· May 29th, 2023Loved visiting Tartu, especially since it has been chosen as a European capital of Culture for 2024. Cesis was a charming stop. Our day on the Curonian Spit was an absolute delight - from the hill of witches to the seashore and the fishing village of Nida.Trip date: May 2023Review collected by Explore!
