  It was an inspiring tour. All sightseeing points were amazing. The guides make the tour super interesting with their great knowledge. All hotels and castle stays were excellent.

  We booked a 14 day trip with Swastik India Journeys around Northern India. We had a great time travelling around with our own personal driver, Vishnu Singh Shekhawat. He was an excellent chap and a very good driver. We felt safe with Vishnu as our driver as he navigated around nearly 3,000km of Northern Indian roads, which is no mean feat, considering the challenging road conditions. You can visit Swastik’s webpage for a detailed day-by-day itinerary of this trip and there’s also an 11 day tour which more-or-less covers the same route. This was such a memorable, efficient and interesting tour. It was a great introduction to the main tourist sights in Rajasthan, ending in Agra to see the magnificentTaj Mahal. There were so many highlights of the tour but getting to know our lovely driver Vishnu Singh Shekhawat was one. He was so kind, good humoured and helpful, getting us safely from one destination to another. He also highlighted points of interest along the way and told us a lot about life in India. We highly recommend him as a driver. We felt disappointed, however, with the accommodation and food in Pushkar as it was not up to the standard of other hotels we stayed in. Local guides were on hand at the major sights to give a lot of historical information. However, some guides were difficult to understand and occasionally they seemed to want to rush through the visit and then get us to visit a “friend” who ran a local business dealing in carpets, jewellery, clothes or paintings. This aspect we were not so keen on. In summary the tour is certainly worth the money we paid. It would have been very difficult for us to see what we did, in the time available to us and in the comfort of an air conditioned modern vehicle driven by our own fantastic driver, Vishnu Singh Shekhawat.

  Had wonderful 14 days in India. The itinerary was very designed covering all the major sightseeing points and mix of a culture and heritage. All guides were amazing and did an excellent job. All hotels were excellent. Loved staying at castles.

  In my personal opinion this is not a trip for single women. I selected this tour on the basis that it was a group tour and fully guided however, it was neither. I ended up being alone with my driver. I had a guide for 2-3 hours per day on the days when there were planned activities. The fact that I had the same driver throughout the trip was a bonus however, the guides were of questionable quality and sometimes were very hard to understand because their accents were so heavy and they were rushing through their explanations. For some reason they seemed to want to get through their explanations and the buildings they were meant to be showcasing as soon as possible which meant we seemed to spend half as much time as I would have liked to spend at them. The guides also pressured me into going to shops where they sold jewellery, rugs, clothes which I had no intention of buying. The pressure tactics were quite unpleasant which put a sour note on most of the sightseeing because it was so patronising. (Not the least to say that all of the guides were male.) Some of the hotels were a long way from the cities (eg Pushkar, Udaipur, Deogarh) which meant there was very little to do or see. In fact two days in Deogarh was two days too long and extra time would have been better spent in Agra and Pushkar. Most of the time I felt quite isolated because I had no fellow companions. I also felt bored because there was not enough activities planned throughout the trip. (This was in contrast to another group of three using Swastik on an 11 day trip who said their itinery seemed very busy.) I was using GetYourGuide to find extra things to do or take myself on very long walks. The saving graces were staying at the Castle, see the Taj Mahal, going on safari in Ranthambhore, having an elephant ride and the continuous driver.

  The Tour was great, although there was a lot of driving involved, which was quite tiring. The highlight of the Tour was undoubtedly the fabulous driver that we had, Pradeep Singh. He was an absolute joy to be with and he was so kind and helpful - he is a credit to the Company.

  The tour was well organized by Swastik India Journeys, and we loved the itinerary and the palace stay. We had only 2 people on the tour. The tour company was very accommodating to our needs. We skipped some of the places and shopping that we were not interested in. Our driver Pradeep was excellent. He was professional, courteous and friendly. He is also very knowledgeable of the historical landmarks and points of interest. On the days that we only travel to the next town, he took us for some side trips. As a result, there was no boring day on our 14-days trip. He also treated us the famous local snacks and drinks. We had the best lassi, lemon tea, marsala tea and Samosa. We cannot be thankful enough for his kindness. All the local guides were very knowledgeable but some of them rushed us around. One guide wanted to take us shopping. Since we wanted to skip shopping, he told our driver that he was busy and left. The whole time the tour guide spent with us was about 2 hours. Pradeep drove us to other attraction for the rest of that day, so we didn't go back to the hotel early. He has a better attitude and does a better job than that local guide. The tour was greatly exceeded our expectations. Great value for the money and we are considering going to visit Southern India in the future.
