Thank you for my time in Morocco. It was very good. All my tour leaders were excellent. It would nice if our tour leaders could eat with us so that we could ask them questions and clarify any questions we have. The pace was very fast but I enjoyed everything especially Ait Ben Haddou and watching the sunrise in the Sahara Desert/

The only reason I enjoyed this was because I met some other great travellers, but the actual tour itself was overpriced and under-delivered. We were lured into tourist trap after tourist trap and people ie. Tour guides at each location constantly demanding money from us. Beware of additional charges and the expectation from guides, who are assumed to be included in the tour, demanding money from you once you arrive. Also, the lunch is not included, which is known up-front, however all tourists are taken to restaurants that are well over-priced ie. I paid $20NZD for a handful of olives, a plate of flavourless vegetarian couscous and 2 mandarins. This is considered a menu and is basically the only option with each restaurant you are taken to. I also paid additionally for a private tent and once we got to the desert, I was told that none were available even though there were 4 other people were given private tents. As a solo female traveller I was dismissed with a wave of a hand and told "doesn't matter what you book, you sleep where I tell you" by the men at the Berber village. It was only after other male tourists in my group arguing on my behalf for 30mins that I was eventually given the private tent I paid for 1 month prior to the tour. I would not recommend this tour and it has definitely tainted my experience of Morocco.

Hi Tenisha Sorry to hear about this. We take your comments very seriously to avoid such a confusion from happening. After my initial investigation, I found out that you should have had your voucher with you which clearly shows a private tent. The... Show more

Really great trip! Hotel 1st night was far above expectations (although FREEZING cold!). Camping was certainly nicer than a lot of other camping trips - we had actual mattresses and pillows and plenty of warm blankets. Camel ride was great, although only about 45 mins. Prepare with your own snacks for the bus ride. Lunch places were really well priced - most places were about 10 euros for 3 courses! BE AWARE - all of these 2 day desert tours are essentially organised by the same company. Not one person on our tour had booked through the same tour company - we had all booked slightly different prices (from 75-95 GBP) on completely different companies. Basically they pick you up from your hotel, then take you to the main square and tell you which minibus to get on - it seems like they save money by packing every minibus totally full rather than keeping everyone split up in different companies. We then drove for about 3 hours to our first stop, where we had an awesome guide. Bus stopped every 2 hours for a toilet and coffee break, but make sure you take change because every toilet costs money. There is a different local guide at each location, and they do ask for a tip at the end at your discretion. The guides were all lovely, and the sights were spectacular. Really really enjoyed this trip!
