    I love traveling this way. Cycling through the countryside, weaving my way into a city on bike paths and quiet neighborhoods, stopping when I want at a little cafe, or something interesting that catches my eye, choosing when to be with other people or be alone.

    this was a great tour, we loved it. the riding was not difficult and not for anyone who wants to pound miles all day long but the routes were interesting riding through the countryside, stopping in small villages for coffee and snacks, lots of history and character. We had excellent directions and could pace ourselves and stop whenever we wanted, it is a not a group ride where you have to go with the group. But the leaders kept track of everyone and helped whenever needed. The accomodation was a great mix of interesting towns with hotels in the center of the old town, lots of local activity and then stays in beautiful agritourismos in the countryside. One day even included a tour of the family vineyard and a picnic. There were many other activities including culinary tours like a small family balsamic vinegar operation and a cooking class in Bologna that really added interest and were very enjoyable. And our leaders and meals were unbelievable. For us this tour was a really well balanced mix of biking, culture and a culinary adventure that made us feel a close connection with the real Italy, a great experience.
