Christine· November 2nd, 2024If I had known earlier that there was only 2 of us on the tour I would most likely have looked at engaging a private guide to come with us. The driver needed to concentrate fully on the road so we were reluctant to seek information from him about what we were seeing along the way. Hotels were fantastic but for a shopper like me of the unique crafts of India I would have like the hotels to be closer (within walking distance) to some of the shops selling these things. We had part of some afternoons/mornings where we could have ventured out exploring alone. Thekkady was perfect for that.Show more

Even before starting our tour we had received a fully detailed itinerary, all contact points and tips for our trip. Our driver, Mutu, became our friend during the tour and really helped us with everything we needed. All guides were very good, some of them truly excellent in giving us the picture of local culture. All hotels were very good, some of them were really excellent and exceeded our expectations with their location and beauty. The tour took us to some fabulous places we would not have thought of going if we had planned a trip ourselves and with what were to us the chaotic roads and road rules it would have been impossible for us to do the trip on our own. - LLaurie· November 30th, 2022We enjoyed our guide, Mannish and driver, Venkey. Mannish spoke English well and is knowledgeable about Hinduism and the sites we visited. He was very attentive to our needs. Venkey negotiated the travel with exceptional skill. All local guides were very interesting. We were fascinated with the Hindu temples and enjoyed the lush scenery. We felt the drive to Kumarakom was long for the short stay and would only do it again if staying 2 nights.
