Alexander· June 1st, 2024Our adventure with Tanzania Horizon Safaris truly was a dream come true! Everything worked out so well, from the first itinerary that was drafted for us to the actual arrival and airport pick up. The lodges were selected perfectly and all meals were excellent. We truly loved the food. We successfully hiked Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho Route with the amazing Colman and Erik. They were so supportive and knowledgeable, making the climb enjoyable and safe. The entire team was incredible, and we felt so well taken care of. Seeing the stunning sights of Kilimanjaro when the sky cleared was breathtaking! After the climb, we visited the Msamaria orphanage, which was a heartwarming experience. The kids were wonderful, and we loved spending time with them. They have a very wonderful garden where the children showed us what they have learned about planting and harvesting. Next, we went on a super versatile safari to Selous Game Reserve and Mikumi National Park. Our safari guide, Davis, was fantastic. We went on walking safaris, boat safaris, and saw incredible wildlife up close, including elephants and cheetahs. The boat safari on the Rufiji River was especially unforgettable – seeing hippos and elephants from the water was surreal! The entire trip was perfectly organized, making it stress-free and full of wonderful memories. We absolutely love Tanzania Horizon Safaris and the whole team. Trip date: May 2019 - psannto· April 30th, 2019I joined a group of travellers and it was a great atmosphere right from beginning. Our guides Jonas, Mussa & Coleman made sure that all equipment was checked and answered all questions. We met our crew of porters and felt welcomed from the first moment. Climbing Kilimanjaro was clear to be an adventure, but with the crew we felt safe at any point and had a lot of fun and great conversations. The meals provided were always very good and always on time. All our porters did a fantastic job and they are the real heroes of Kilimanjaro. Everyday was different and I enjoyed the changing of landscapes. It was tough at times, especially the day we climbed Lava Tower but Jonas & Coleman gave helpful advice at any time. The summit night during the dark and cold was really special, but the support was excellent all the way to Uhuru Peak. We reached the peak at sunrise and enjoyed an amazing view of Tanzania and Kenya. The last night before returning back to Moshi town was almost a bit sad to say goodbye to all the team.
